Please ensure that your Club members who hold any of the above positions or who are accredited Officials/IRB/Water Safety personnel are made aware of this information. Team Managers need to make their Club members well aware of the Carnival Day responsibilities they need to perform. These responsibilities need to be communicated to members well before the day of the event. The Team Manager will be held responsible for this by the Carnival Committee. Please refer to the carnival dates and closing dates above. Clubs need to nominate competitors via Carnival Manager in Beach Sprint only. Competitors will then be allowed to compete in all age appropriate events on the day. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS All competitors are to be registered and financial members of their surf lifesaving club and have completed the following to enter the carnivals: Relevant age Junior Preliminary Skills Evaluation Relevant age Competition Skills Evaluation U15 proficient in Surf Rescue Certificate (SRC) There are no entry fees for these Junior Carnivals. ENTRY FEES LATE ENTRY For competitors not entered in the Carnival, the Team Manager must provide proof of competency and a completed late entry slip with competitor s full name and age group. These slips needs to be fully completed - including signing of the disclaimer - and lodged at the Team Managers Meeting. No late entry will be accepted after that. Late entry slips can be found on the Branch website under Forms. CARNIVAL TIMELINE Officials & Water Safety 08.30 Team Managers 08.40 Marshalling 08.50 Start Time 09.00 Please note: Non attendance at briefings will not be taken as an excuse for missing any information. The Carnival referee has discretion to amend times as required. EVENTS Age group: U8 to U15 Events: include Surf Race, Board Race, Wade, Multi Disciplined Events, Flag, Sprint and Relays to be confirmed prior to the close of nominations. Club JACs input shall be sought when compiling Carnivals events programme. The program is subject to change at the Carnival Referee s discretion. CONDITIONS OF ENTRY These Carnivals will be conducted in accordance with the current Edition of the Surf Sports Manual including subsequent Bulletins.

All competitors must be current financial and proficient members of their Surf Life Saving Club. All competitors are required to wear high visibility Pink vests in Competition, as per the SLSQ High Visibility Clothing Policy Competing Clubs shall provide Officials and Water Safety personnel as outlined in the Team Manager s Declaration. Clubs may appeal a dismissed protest to the Appeals Committee. A fee of $110.00 per individual/team must be lodged. If the appeal is upheld the fee will be returned. If the appeal is dismissed the fee is retained by Wide Bay Capricorn Branch. OFFICIALS Officials will be appointed from the information submitted by Official nomination online Click Here for Official Nomination, and by clubs if there is not enough official nominated online. All Officials, please ensure that you have told the appropriate person at your Club how you are supporting the Carnival. Delays in submitting these nominations will result in referee not having the up to date information to set appointments. Clubs that do not supply enough officials may be excluded from competing. The ratio of Officials to Competitors is 1 to 8. ROSTERED IRB DRIVER AND CREW ONLY COUNT AS OFFICIALS IF THEY ARE ACTING AS JUDGE IN BOAT AND HOLD AN OFFICIALS ACCREDITATION. If nominated official / water safety personnel do not attend, your club must replace them with another qualified person. IRB AND WATER SAFETY REQUIREMENTS As advised at BOSS meeting of 23.07.16, clubs no longer have to submit names for IRBs and Water Safety personnel s. Instead clubs should make sure that they have IRB Drivers, Crews and Water Safety personnel available to fulfill their Water Safety obligation listed on the Water Safety roster. All Water Safety Personnel ( IRB & Orange Shirts), please ensure that you have told the appropriate person at your Club how you are supporting the Carnival. Water Safety personnel are to be provided by competing Clubs on a roster basis as provided by the Coordinator. Branch IRB Officer or Delegate will send out the Water Safety Roster no less than 48 hours before the event. Failure by any Club to provide water safety personnel as per the roster may exclude that Club from competing. TEAM MANAGERS DECLARATIONS A Team Managers Declaration Click Here for Team Manager Declaration MUST be completed by all Clubs no later than midnight, at the close of nomination. No Clubs will be eligible to start the carnival without a completed Team Managers Declaration.

Clubs are allowed one (1) Club Team Manager, and one (1) Age Manager per age group. Team Manager and Age Manager must be clearly identified as outlined in Item 11 of the Special Notice to Team Managers. Any changes of Team Manager personnel must be reported to Carnival Referee and a current blue card must be produced. NO BLUE CARD, NO CHANGE. Please ensure that the TOTAL numbers of competitors is listed on the Official form coming in, and appropriate Officials to Competitors ratio is met by the club. RESULTS Results will be recorded for all age groups to: reinforce newly learnt Officials skills circulate to Clubs for their records assist in selection of North & South representative teams CLUB PHOTOGRAPHERS RESULTS Only officially accredited Club Photographers will be permitted to enter any of the competition areas at these events. However, these photographers MUST be wearing a lanyard around their neck, at all times whilst in the competition area, with their club photographers pass and Blue Card clearly displayed. At the discretion of the Referee on the day he/she may still request that an official Club Photographer move within or leave the area. This could be due to a number of issues at the time that may be effecting the running/conducting of events. Club Photographers are also reminded that, although authorized, absolute discretion must be shown at all times whilst in their official capacity at these events. GENERAL The smooth running of the Carnival is dependent upon all involved providing the required support and meeting their obligations in all areas.
