St Michael s Netball Club Annual General Meeting Committee Annual Report 2018 PRESIDENT REPORT LYNNE ROBERTSON Our team numbers are lower than in previous years with 11 junior teams and 6 senior teams registered. We also had some age groups with no teams at all. This is something that will need to be looked at in 2019. We also had no sponsorship in 2018 and this will impact on our fees and our ability to offer coaching and umpiring courses next year. A sponsorship person will be needed in 2019 so please consider volunteering. This year saw the introduction of Friday night games for the U7, U8 and U9 NetSetGo teams. I would like to thank everyone involved in the Friday night games particularly Hannah Smith, Georgia Cowling and Chloe Nolan who umpired every Friday night. Hannah and Georgia usually did 2 games each. Thank you girls you are very special young ladies. Thank you also to their parents for bringing them out each Friday night. Congratulations to all teams on their 2018 season. We had 6 teams play in semi- finals with 3 progressing to finals. Our 10D1 are participating in their first grand final which is a fantastic achievement. Congratulations also to our umpires who received final series allocations Isabelle Newton, Ashlee Robertson, Meghan Noble, Robert Gilbert and Lynne Robertson. Thank you to all of our volunteer coaches and managers who give so much of their time. We also required many umpires and mentors to cover our umpiring allocations and again we can t do this without these volunteers. Congratulations to those umpires who have achieved their first practical umpiring badges and those that have moved to the next level of umpiring badges. On-line registrations will not open until early in January 2018. This will mean our grading of the junior teams will not occur until February. Please consider volunteering to join our committee or as a coach or manager in 2019. Our club cannot function without a committee, umpires, coaches and managers and I thank all of our volunteers especially our 2018 committee who have worked tirelessly this year. You have all done an outstanding job to ensure our club runs smoothly. VICE PRESIDENT REPORT KAREN SMITH I would like to thank all our 2018 committee members for volunteering their time to ensure that our club runs as efficiently as possible, you have all done a brilliant job. I would also like to thank all the coaches and managers who put their hands up to volunteer, your support is greatly appreciated and we look forward to seeing you all back again next year. Uniforms:

This year we introduced the new Club Hoodie which seems to be a huge success. Next year our club tracksuit jackets and pants will change ever so slightly due to our suppliers no longer making our original style. We will ensure that we have samples available at the beginning of the season for you to try on. Sponsorship: This year our club managed to operate without a Sponsorship Officer, which is clearly not ideal on an ongoing basis. I would encourage you all to consider running for this position at our AGM as without these sponsors our club will be limited on the amount of development courses, coaching clinics etc that we can offer to our members. Also if you own your own business or work for a company that would be willing to sponsor our club please come and talk to one of our committee members. St Michael s Netball is a not for profit organising and all our donations go back into our club and its members to ensure its long jeopardy. Congratulations to all our teams this year on a fantastic season and we look forward to seeing you all again next season. SECRETARY TRACY COWLING I would like to thank all members of the committee this year for making it a fun group to be a part of. It is wonderful to see a group of people come together with the combined goal of providing an avenue for our children to play netball. We had an early change to our committee when Rebecca Duda left after her daughter suffered a long term injury and was unable to play. Anne Sayers joined the committee as our Communications Officer and has done an outstanding job. Particular thanks should go to Lynne Robertson who, despite not having any children playing at the club, gives of her time and expertise. It is not an exaggeration to say that without Lynne the club would not continue to run. Congratulations to all involved in season 2018. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2019. TREASURER REPORT JACKIE HUGHES Balance carried over from the last Annual General Meeting was a total of $13,490.76. The figures below are for period 30.9.17 to 31.8.18 Total Income received this period is a total of $40,021.62 Total expenses paid this period is a total of $40,846.05

Please see attached expense sheet for expenditure break down. Club account balance as of 31 August 2018 is $12,666.33 REGISTRAR REPORT KATRINA GRIFFITH This year we had a total of 150 players registered with 11 junior teams and 6 senior teams. As 2018 netball season draws to a close. I would like to thank all players, coaches, managers, umpires, parents and everyone who has volunteered their time on a great 2018 season. A huge congratulations to all junior and senior teams this year and a special mention to those teams that made the finals. Awesome effort you have all done St Michael s Netball Club extremely proud. Registrations for next year - 2019 will open in the coming months. Registration will be the same format as this year by registering online. Be sure to register as early as possible to secure your spot in the club. You can find all the details regarding registration on SMNC website as well as our Facebook page, please follow and like us to keep update with important information. I would like to thank the SMNC Committee for all their support in my first year of Registrar. I would especially like to thank Lynne Robertson President, for her help and guidance over the last 9 months you have certainly made my roll a lot easier. Once again thank you to SMNC community for all your support & I hope to see you all again for another successful netball season in 2019. COACHES CONVENOR REPORT CATHERINE KOS On behalf of the club I would sincerely like to thank all of our wonderful coaches and managers, who give of your time and volunteer to help our players. I hope you have found it a rewarding and valuable experience! We had 5 new coaches join our ranks this year and 8 returning coaches and they all did an amazing job. Highlights of the year included: The Nardia Macdonald Coach the Coach training session held by BHSNA The Mastering the Rules sessions attended by our coaches and players particularly those moving from Net Set Go to proper rules. Thank you Robert and Lynne for running these nights for us We have a strong contingent already enrolling for Net Set Go after school sessions for 5 and 6 year olds in term 4, to give the children a taste of netball in a fun environment. This will be run by 2 of our coaches and volunteers I encourage any would-be coaches for next season to volunteer and enjoy all that coaching had to offer. Plans for next year include: Coach the Coach sessions as early as possible in the season

Access to an online structured program to help coaches with their training sessions and game plans Support of coaches to complete coaching accreditation programs at all levels Thanks once again to our coaches and managers and members for supporting the coaches throughout the season. UMPIRE CONVENOR REPORT ROBERT GILBERT It is with a sense of satisfaction I write this annual report sharing some of the successes of the past season. On behalf of St Michael s Netball Club I should begin by offering a sincere thanks to Lynn erobertson for her support & help this year and the other committee members. Umpires are necessary part of the game, we are hard-working and dedicated people whose primary interest is to make sure the game is played fairly and safely. We are the integral part of this great game. It takes a tremendous amount of dedication and commitment to become an umpire, so we appreciate and applaud all the work our St Michael s umpires does for us. All of our umpires and mentors who have done an outstanding job this year, including: Lynn Robertson (umpire/mentor) Ashlee Robertson (umpire/mentor) Charlotte Ryan (umpire/mentor) Kim Newton (mentor) Isabella Newton (Umpire/mentor) Meghan Noble (umpire) Poppy Robinson (umpire) Hannah Smith (umpire) Georgia Cowling (umpire) Tiana Vezos (umpire) Chloe Nolan (umpire) Robert Gilbert (umpire) Grant Mitchell (umpire) Kate Timbs (umpire). Victoria Wintle (umpire). I would also like to congratulate Charlotte Ryan for obtaining her Gold badge and Victoria Wintle obtaining her Green badge this year. Without the support of other clubs we would not have been able to supply umpires for all of our games this year. Therefore, I would like to extend our thanks to Oak Hill Drive, Gazelles, and Rouse Hill Renegades. Well done to all on another great netball season! EQUIPMENT OFFICER REPORT MICHELLE NOLAN To help get teams underway for the 2018 season, each team was issued with a restocked SMNC branded kit bag containing a new match ball, training ball, training bibs, game-day patches, ball pump, squizzle (for the junior teams) and a basic first aid kit. Optional drink bottle caddies were also available for teams who wanted one. New Equipment Purchases Two new ball pumps and six new sets of game day patches were ordered at a cost of $450 and distributed to teams who were spending too much time picking their old patches up off the court. We will endeavour to purchase further sets of game-day patches for the 2019 season to continue to replace the older sets that are losing their stick. Coaches Equipment Guide

An audit on the training equipment stored at the Crestwood Courts was conducted and a visual Coaches Equipment Guide will be developed for the 2019 season to familiarise coaches (especially newbies) with the equipment available to them and how it can be used in training. Rebel Membership Rebate A reminder to all club members to continue to use their SMNC membership card/number when they purchase personal items at Rebel stores especially with Christmas fast approaching. A percentage of their purchase goes back to the club so we can purchase new equipment and new game balls for the following season. If you don t have a SMNC membership card/number for Rebel and would like one, please contact me via email equipment@stmichaelsnet@gmail.com Restocking Of Kit Bags For 2019 Season I will send a quick email to coaches regarding what needs to be restocked in their bags for 2019. Coaches can bring their kit bags to the SMNC Presentation Day for restocking. 2019 Season bags will then be redistributed to coaches at the beginning of the season. COMMUNICATION OFFICER REPORT ANNE SAYERS This year club members continued to be updated via newsletters, emails and Facebook updates. Please continue to check the website and Facebook towards the end of the year in preparation for the 2019 season. All new season club registration information will continue to be communicated this way. This year, committee members used new gmail accounts to streamline communication for our club members. We hope you found it easier to contact and communicate with the club committee. 2019 will hopefully see the revamp of our website with the inclusion of a mobile version so you can access information clearly on your phone. Netsetgo for our 5 and 6 year old upcoming netball stars will be commencing Mondays in Term 4. Information for this event is on the website including a registration link. Please consider sharing our events with family and friends through Facebook. Thank you to our coaches and managers for weekly reports and photos on Facebook. It is a fantastic way to share team achievements and encourage our players for their efforts. Looking forward to the 2019 netball season.
