AUSTINTOWN LITTLE FALCONS HANDBOOK

Mission Statement The Austintown Little Falcons football and cheerleading team is a non-profit organization that offers an instructional program for the youth of Austintown, Ohio. The Austintown Little Falcons are dedicated to teaching our youth, fundamentals and proper techniques of football and cheer. Our emphasis is on developing physical fitness, sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership skills in a safe and structured environment. We strive to provide opportunities for all participants to develop individual skills as well as be a contributing member of the team. It is also important to the Austintown Little Falcons that our organization provides a way for our athletes to build lasting friendships, great memories, and have fun!

Austintown Little Falcons Policies ATTENDANCE: Players must be physically and mentally prepared to play football, therefore ALL practices are mandatory. Any player who must miss a practice shall contact your head coach or adviser. Unexcused and habitual absences will not be tolerated. PROTOCOL: All players and cheerleaders are expected to behave in a kind and courteous manner toward coaches, fellow teammates and opposing team on and off the field. All coaches and Little Falcon staff members shall be treated with respect. Please note: Do not drop or throw helmets. Please place them on the ground gently. The equipment and property of the Austintown Little Falcons shall be treated properly and with respect. Parents or guardians are responsible for all equipment issued to their children. Abusive or foul language will not be tolerated. Proper sportsmanship shall be enforced at all times. Disciplinary Action is governed by the Austintown Little Falcons Constitution and/or this policy statement, by the YAC s By-Laws, Rules of Play, Zero Tolerance Policy, and by the OHSAA Rules and Regulations. All documents are available for inspection on or through our website www.austintownlittlefalcons.org. IMPORTANT: Cleaning up is everyone's responsibility. Littering will NOT be tolerated. VOLUNTEER POLICY: The Austintown Little Falcons have been a successful organization for over 40 years and that is due to our parents and the time they invest to volunteer. We need our parents to help each week at practices and especially on game days when we are hosting the games on our home field.

By signing your child up with the Austintown Little Falcons organization you agree with these code of conducts: Athlete Code of Conduct 1. Attend every practice and game, unless I inform the coach in advance of my absence. 2. Give support and show respect to my teammates. 3. Emphasize academics and family over athletics. 4. Express myself intelligently and appropriately. 5. Work hard in practice. 6. Practice sportsmanship at all times. Winners don t brag and losers don t make excuses. 7. Strive to be a positive influence in the way I talk and listen to my teammates, parents, and coaches. Parent Code of Conduct 1. Accompany my children to as many orientation and informational meetings as possible. 2. Accept the authority of the coach to determine strategy and player selection. 3. Avoid the use of tobacco and being under the influence of alcohol during practices or contests. 4. Help my children follow the athlete s code of conduct, team agreements and rules. 5. Encourage my son or daughter during the game and leave the coaching to the coach. 6. Ensure that my children attend all scheduled practices and game. If my child is not able to make a scheduled practice or game, you are responsible for contacting the coach in advance. 7. Provide supportive comments to coaches, officials, and players of all teams. 8. Show enthusiasm, interest, and support for our child. Fighting and arguing will NOT be tolerated at practices and games. 9. Work closely with all program personnel to guarantee academic as well as athletic experiences for my child-athlete.
