(CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION) 1. MANAGEMENT The 12 th AmBank Group SportExcel INTERNATIONAL JUNIOR GOLF CHAMPIONSHIP 2017 (hereinafter referred to as "The Championship") shall be managed by a Tournament Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "The Committee") appointed by the FOUNDATION FOR SPORTING EXCELLENCE MALAYSIA (SportExcel), whose decision on all matters shall be final. 2. VENUE & DATE The Championship shall be played over the Garden Course of Glenmarie Golf & Country Club (hereinafter referred to as the Club ) from 5 TH 7 TH December 2017 (Tuesday to Thursday). 3. CHAMPIONSHIP SCHEDULE The schedule of play shall be as follows: 4 TH DECEMBER 2017 [MONDAY] REGISTRATION & OFFICIAL PRACTICE ROUND Tee Times: 7.30am 8.30am (For International Competitors) 8.40am 9.30am (For Local Competitors) Course closed: 3.00pm TEAM MANAGERS MEETING Time: 12:00 noon Venue: Tournament Secretariat Room, Eagle Suite, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY & HIGH TEA Time: 4.00pm Attendance: Dress Code: Compulsory for all International & Local Competitors and Team Officials International Competitors: Official Team Attire Local Competitors: Official Tournament Polo Shirts / Sponsor s attire As the AmBank Group is the title sponsor of the Championship, competitors and officials are not allowed to use attire of any other financial institutions (banks, insurance companies, etc.) during the duration of the Championship from 4 TH 7 TH December 2017 including Opening Ceremony, Prize Presentation/Closing Ceremony. 5 TH 7 TH DECEMBER 2017 [TUESDAY - THURSDAY] THE CHAMPIONSHIP Time: 7:30am (2-point start) Venue: Garden Course, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club 7 TH DECEMBER 2017 [THURSDAY] PRIZE PRESENTATION 4. FORMAT OF PLAY Time: 3:00pm (Time subjected to change) Venue: Cenderawasih Room, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club 4.1. The Championship shall be decided by stroke play over three rounds of 18 holes (54 HOLES). There will be no cut-off for this Championship. However, in the event that circumstances prevent the completion of the three stipulated rounds, the Committee reserves the right to shorten the Championship and decide the winners in the most appropriate manner. 4.2. Inter-Team Competition: Each team will consist of one boy from the Blue teeing ground and one girl from the White teeing ground. The team returning the lowest aggregate score for the Championship shall be the winner for the Tunku Imran Trophy. A country may nominate more than one team. 5. ENTRIES AND CLOSING DATE All entries are to be made on the Official Entry Form and must reach the Tournament Office by 12.00 noon, 30 th October 2017. The field is limited to 120 competitors. The Committee reserves the right to accept late entries or refuse any entry at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason. For Entry Fee, please refer to the respective FACT SHEET for International Competitors and Local Competitors. 6. REGISTRATION & WITHDRAWAL All competitors are required to register in person at the Tournament Secretariat latest by 4.00pm on 4 TH December 2017. Failure to do so may result in the competitor being withdrawn from the Championship with no refund of any fees paid. Page 2 of 9

7. ELIGIBIILITY The Championship is open to all amateur players for BOYS and GIRLS, below 19 years of age as at December 5 TH, 2017. 7.1. Handicap Eligibility: GROUP AGE YEAR OF BIRTH HANDICAP REQUIREMENT Boys' A 15 18 years old 5 th Dec 1998-4 th Dec 2002 6 & Below Girls' A 15 18 years old 5 th Dec 1998 4 th Dec 2002 9 & Below Boys' B 13 14 years old 5 th Dec 2002-4 th Dec 2004 9 & Below Girls' B 13 14 years old 5 th Dec 2002-4 th Dec 2004 12 & Below Boys' C 10 12 years old 5 th Dec 2004-4 th Dec 2007 12 & Below Girls' C 10 12 years old 5 th Dec 2004-4 th Dec 2007 15 & Below The Committee reserves the right to accept entries or refuse any entry at its absolute discretion without assigning any reason. 7.2. Teeing Grounds: Glenmarie Golf & Country Club (Garden Course) 8. TRANSPORTATION BLUE 6700-7000 yards (BA & BB) WHITE 6000-6400 yards (GA, GB & BC) RED 5400-5800 yards (GC) Note: Refer to the attached Course Yardage for the respective categories The Committee reserves the right to amend, modify and/or adjust the above distances as and when they feel deemed fit without providing notice. All competitors are required to WALK AT ALL TIMES unless authorized by a Referee or when play has been suspended. PENALTY: TWO STROKES for each hole at which any breach occurred. Maximum penalty per round: FOUR STROKES. In the event of breach between the play of two holes, the penalty applies to the next hole. Use of any unauthorized form of transportation must be discontinued immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. Otherwise, the competitor will be DISQUALIFIED. Page 3 of 9

9. BUGGY & CADDY Group A & B (Boys & Girls) to walk throughout pull trolley or carry bag. (Motorized trolley, buggy and caddy are not allowed.) Trolleys are available for rental @ RM10 per round (applies to both sponsored & nonsponsored players) For Group C only Buggy shall be provided on Twin sharing basis for Group C only Caddy will be provided by the club on individual basis for Group C only (one caddy per player) Caddies shall be assigned by the Club only Only the club caddies are allowed to drive the buggy which is for Bag / Equipment only All competitors are required to WALK AT ALL TIMES unless authorized by a Referee or when play has been suspended. A Team (Country) Manager for the team will be provided with a Buggy strictly for the Team Manager only No rental of buggies for parents and supporters 10. RULES OF PLAY The Championship shall be played in accordance with the current Rules of Golf as approved by R&A Rules Limited, the Conditions of Competition, the Tournament Local Rules and any additional notices as declared by the Committee. All notices shall be posted on the Official Tournament Notice Board and such postings shall be deemed as sufficient notice given to all competitors. 11. THE USE OF DISTANCE-MEASURING DEVICES (DMD) A player may obtain distance information by using a device that MEASURES DISTANCE. If, during a stipulated round, a player uses a DMD to gauge or measure other conditions that might affect his play (e.g. elevation changes, wind speed, etc.), the player is in breach of Rule 14-3. First Breach : Two strokes penalty For Subsequent Offence : Disqualification 12. DRAWS AND STARTING TIMES The Committee will make the draw for the first round. The draw for the second and final rounds will be arranged according to the scores, with the lowest scores teeing off last from the first tee and the highest scores teeing off from the tenth tee. Competitors shall start at the time laid down by the Committee. In the absence of circumstances which warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, if a competitor arrives at his starting point ready to play within five minutes after his starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time shall be TWO STROKES at the starting hole instead of DISQUALIFICATION. Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is DISQUALIFICATION. Page 4 of 9

13. PACE OF PLAY The attention of all competitors is drawn to Rule 6-7 regarding Pace of Play and Undue Delay. In the interest of fair play the Committee has established Pace of Play Conditions and will not hesitate to impose the penalties provided by those Conditions. Please refer to the Official Tournament Notice Board for the detailed Pace of Play Conditions. 13.1. Time Allowed The maximum time allotted for the completion of 18 holes of the Championship is 4 hours 42 minutes for a 4-Ball flight. Each hole has been given a maximum completion time base upon the length and difficulty of the hole.the following procedure only applies if a group is out of position. 13.2. Definition of Out of Position The first group to start or the group after a starter s gap will be considered out of position, if at any time during the round, the group s cumulative time exceeds the time allowed for the number of holes played. Any following group will be considered out of position if it is more than the starting time interval behind the group in front and has exceeded the time allowed for the number of holes played. 13.3. Procedure When Group is Out of Position 13.3.1. If a group is out of position, a decision will be taken as to whether the group will be timed. In reaching such a decision, the Chief Referee will take account of any recent mitigating circumstances, e.g. a lengthy ruling or lost ball, unplayable ball, wrong ball, etc., and how far the group is out of position. If there are any such circumstances, the group is expected to regain its position within a reasonable time. If the decision is taken to time the group, each player in the group will be subject to individual timing by the Referee and the Referee will advise each player that they are out of position and are being timed. 13.3.2. The maximum time allocated per shot is 40 seconds. 10 extra seconds are allowed for the first player to play: a) On a par 3 hole; b) His approach shot; and c) A chip or putt. Timing will start when a player has reached his ball, he has had a few seconds to select his club and he is able to play without interference or distractions. Time spent determining the yardage will count as time taken for the next stroke. On the putting green, he is allowed a few seconds to repair ball marks and clear loose impediments on his line of putt. Time spent looking at the line from beyond the hole and/or behind the ball will count as time taken for the next stroke. Page 5 of 9

13.3.3. Timing ceases when a group is either back in position in relation to the preceding group or within the allocated time for the holes played. 13.4. Penalty for breach of Condition:- a) One bad time - Warning from the Referee and will be told that a penalty will be imposed for a further bad time. b) Two bad times - Penalty of one stroke. c) Three bad times - Further penalty of two strokes. d) Four bad times - Disqualification. Note: The Committee reserves the right, at any time, to time a group when the Committee deems necessary. Players should also be aware that the Committee may assess a bad time to a player in a group which is out of position if the player makes no effort to help his group to get back in position. An example of this is when the player delay play between shots. 13.5. Procedure When Again Out of Position During the Same Round If a group is out of position more than once during a round, the above procedure will apply on each occasion. Bad times and the application of penalties in the same round will be carried forward until the round is completed. 14. SCORE CARD SUBMISSION Score cards must be submitted as soon as possible on completion of the round duly signed by the player and the marker. A scorecard is deemed to be submitted the moment the competitor has completely left the designated scoring area. 15. DECISIONS & TIES Decisions made by a Referee appointed by the Committee is final (Rule 34-2). In the event of a tie for Overall Boys and Girls categories, the competitors tying shall as soon as possible continue to a sudden-death play-off until a winner is decided. The Committee shall determine the sequence of holes for the play-off. The purpose of the play-off shall be to decide the Overall Boys and Overall Girls Gross CHAMPIONS only. In the event of a tie for all other placing s, the tie shall be decided by a count back of comparing the aggregate of gross scores in the following order: 1) Last 18 holes (Holes 1-18, Round 3) 2) Second 18 holes (Holes 1-18, Round 2) 3) Last 9 holes (Holes 10-18, Round 3) 4) Last 6 holes (Holes 13-18, Round 3) 5) Last 3 holes (Holes 16-18, Round 3) 6) Last hole (Hole 18, Round 3) 7) And finally, by the toss of a coin Page 6 of 9

If in the event that Round 3 could not be completed due to unforeseen circumstances, the Committee may then use the scores of Round 2 to determine the count back. 16. PRIZES A Certificate of Participation will be awarded to each competitor while a Certificate of Excellence will be awarded to each prize winner. The following prizes shall be awarded. 16.1. Challenge Trophies Overall Boys' Champion playing from the Blue teeing ground for the Tan Sri Azman Hashim Trophy Overall Girls' Champion playing from the White teeing ground for the Tan Sri Azman Hashim Trophy Team Champion for the Tunku Imran Trophy 16.2. Age-Group Prizes Top five placing in each age-group category (BOYS and GIRLS) 16.3. Scholarships 17. RESTRICTIONS A player (boy or girl) with the best overall gross score off the Blue teeing ground for boys AND White teeing ground for girls will receive a ONE (1) year scholarship to the Hills Golf Academy in Queensland, Australia in 2018. The top four (4) local players, two (2) boys playing from the Blue teeing ground and two (2) girls playing from the White teeing ground will be awarded a one (1) month scholarship each at the same academy in 2018. If the winner of the ONE (1) year scholarship is a Malaysian, then one (1) of the four (4) onemonth scholarships should be awarded to an international and the other three (3) to Malaysians. Non-Competitors: Restricted from entering into the fairways and must stay on the service roads, buggy tracks or rough areas during the competition. Prohibited from talking or communicating with competitors during the course of play in the competition. Such action may be deemed to be in breach of Rule 8-1 by the player. Failure to comply with the above may result in the offender being removed from the course. 18. ETIQUETTE, BEHAVIOUR ON THE COURSE All competitors should practice good etiquette as detailed out in Section 1 of the Rules of Golf. The overriding principle is that consideration should be shown to others on the course at all times. Page 7 of 9

Serious Breach of Etiquette: The following may be considered serious breaches of etiquette for this Championship and carries a penalty of disqualification:- Usage of hand phones/mobile devices during a round to the annoyance and distractions of other competitors. Verbal abuse of fellow competitor / official / staff. Intentionally distracting or offending fellow competitor. Smoking or consuming any form of alcohol Venting anger verbally, throwing of clubs in frustration or any misbehavior or conduct unbecoming of a golfer. Note: Any other breaches of etiquette not listed above will be dealt with individually by the Committee. 19. SUSPENSION OF PLAY, DANGEROUS SITUATION (Note to Rule 6-8b) The specimen Condition in the Rules of Golf is in effect see page 158. Note: Suspension of play for dangerous situations will be signaled by a single prolonged note of the siren. All other suspensions will be signaled by three consecutive short notes of the siren, repeated. In either case, resumption of play will be signaled by two short notes of the siren. In the event of a suspension for a dangerous situation, all play MUST stop immediately. When play has been suspended, competitors may ride on buggies to seek shelter or preferably to return to the clubhouse for further announcements. PENALTY: DISQUALIFICATION 20. RESULTS OF THE COMPETITION COMPETITION CLOSED The Championship shall be deemed to have closed when the first of the prizes has been presented. 21. INDEMINITY/LIABILITIES The Committee, Sponsors, Organizers and the Club will not be responsible for any loss, damage or harm, or any form of injuries that the competitors of the Championship may suffer as a result of their participation in this Championship.
