The City of Fernandina Beach requests sealed bids by 2:00 pm, April 14, 2016 from qualifying contractors to furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and other items, facilities, and services for the proper execution and completion of the above-referenced project in accordance with the specifications published March 18, 2016 as Invitation to Bid 16-02. Any submittal received after the above stated time and date will not be considered. It shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder to have its proposal delivered to the City of Fernandina Beach, by U.S. Mail, hand delivery or any other method available to him/her; however, facsimile or electronic submittals will not be accepted. Delay in delivery shall be the sole responsibility of the bidder. Submittals received after the deadline will not be considered. This includes the fishing pier and floating kayak dock. All transitions on land and over the water are to be free from trip hazards and be easily negotiated by wheelchairs. Positioning of the fishing pier is to be as close to Atlantic Avenue as possible. The setback distance of the easternmost end of the fishing pier from the Atlantic Avenue tidal gates to be verified by DEP. The following pages contain aspects not included in the original bid 16-02. The aspects not in the original bid are all ADA related and add cost to the project. 2 of 6

No Roll Off Guard on the other half, past the ADA slip, to allow access for kayakers to enter and exit kayaks from the floating dock without the use of either slip. Facilitates ease of use by larger kayaking groups.
