Rossendale Leisure Trust: Who are we? The largest not for profit social enterprise in the Valley, established in 2004 with aspirations to promote an active and healthy community within Rossendale. As a Company we also have charitable status. We work hard to offer value for money to our customers in what is a difficult financial climate for local government commissioned charitable companies. Overseen by a board of volunteer trustees who are local people with both a passion for Rossendale sport, and the skills to enable them to direct company affairs. We employ more than 150 people, of which over 80% live in Rossendale. They are dedicated to promoting an active and healthy community in Rossendale and have a passion for what they do. We have brought over 2,000,000 of grant funding into the Valley since 2004 for a variety of projects and facilities. We manage community leisure facilities on behalf of the Rossendale Borough Council and two local schools as well as investing in community outreach and engagement events within the community. We have over 500,000 customer visits a year at our facilities and also have a headcount of over 500,000 per year passing through our in school and community outreach and coaching programme. We support local community groups and events giving our time and expertise to ensure these events are a success. Events we support or organise include; the Rossendale Sports Awards, Rossendale Triathlon, the Rossendale Junior Football Tournament and more. Parties including junior go-carts, swimming parties with our Olympic inflatables, trampolining and more. Understanding the key fundamentals to sport and activity allows children to gain key skills which can transfer to many sports. We offer courses in swimming, trampolining, cheerleading, multi-sports, football, street dance and more to help young people find an activity they enjoy. Grass pitches, astroturf and 5-a-side 3G pitches are available at our sites offering the best football facilities in Rossendale. Skills Academy New state of the art gym and facilities including new 5-a-side football pitches in the heart of Rossendale combined with the existing 25m swimming pool and additional learner swimming pool.
