Doncaster Hockey Club is an active member of Hockey Victoria and is the premier hockey club in the city of Manningham. In 2010 we have over 600 members competing in 33 teams registered in the men s, women s, junior and veteran competitions. Following the ground refurbishment in 2009, Doncaster Hockey Club now has one of the best hockey facilities in the country. The History of Doncaster Hockey Cub Doncaster Hockey Club was established in 1974. Since the establishment of the Club it has risen by means of the promotion and relegation system to the highest grades at all levels of Men s, Women s and Junior leagues. The Club is widely recognised as one of the premier clubs in Australian hockey. The Men s section have won three State league 1 premierships The Women s sections have won two State league 1 premierships. The club has produced eight Australian players (7 men & 1 female) and three Olympians. We currently have two players in the 2010 Australian team (Russell Ford and Chris Ciriello). We have produced 32 Victorian senior players and many junior state players Doncaster Hockey Club currently fields seven men s, six women s, four men s veteran s and sixteen junior teams. The club is based in Mullum Mullum Reserve, Donvale. The club has a strong base of community support throughout the Manningham area and draws its 600 plus members throughout the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Community involvement is seen by Doncaster Hockey Club as a key part of its development plans and brings an estimated total of 5,000 people in touch with the club s activities through the course of the year. Why Hockey? Australia is ranked in the top four nations in the world in both men s and women s The men are current Olympic bronze medallists The women won Olympic gold in 1988, 1996 & 2000. The men won Olympic gold in 2004. It is played in over 100 countries. Below is a table which shows what is offered with State League 1 Team sponsorship of Doncaster Hockey Club. Men s State League 1 Team Sponsor Women s State League 1 Team Sponsor $1,200* $1,200* Naming Rights Naming rights to a weekly player of the match prize to the value of $30 as selected by coaches and advertised on website and local newspaper in weekly match report. The weekly prize is to be provided by sponsor in addition in to the sponsorship fee.
