It has been a great year at DGSC in a depressed economy and the world in a turmoil about many things. Cost of living continues to rise and income flat at best for most of us. Why are we celebrating a year of many accomplishments? DGSC is one place we can come and spend a few dollars with friends with common interest. I firmly believe our club directors have worked overtime and produced many improvements that make club facilities safe, clean, attractive and comfortable. When you have a chance be sure to thank each one for the past year accomplishments at DGSC. There are many areas of club business that need improvement and all of the membership can participate. The Election Committee struggled to find members willing to spend 1 year making a difference. If you don't have the time to spend on the BOD then few hours on a committee will save cost and can provide some insight to why and how things are done. The Club will be open whenever weather permits. Our Staff is very good about getting to the Club to open it up. As a caution, just call the Club first before making the trip out there. Our first Turkey Shoot of the season was held in November and was well attended. Our next one will be on Sunday the 12 th of December. All games will be shot for a turkey or ham, your choice as long as they last. Also, we will have the Bird Dog Challenge that we had at the Club before. Register early with Chuck F. the Head of the Hunting and Fishing Committee. Also, on the 11 th of December we will be having our Annual Christmas Party at the club. Dinner will be at 5PM, and we will have a DJ start at 6PM. The Party is open to ALL members and guests. The tickets are $15.00 a person, $30.00 for a couple. The meal will be catered by the Kassans, and we will have an open bar, along with door prizes, to end the nights. This is the 60 year anniversary for the Club, so please come out and help celebrate! A good time will be had by all! The Club will have a Holiday schedule this year! We will be closed Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. We will be open for our Hangover Shoot as we were last year. A meal will be provided by the Club for those tough enough to make it out. In reflecting on the successes of the past year I am reminded that our volunteers are what have made us so successful in these projects! The ATA shoots, Exxon Mobil, Sporting Clays shoots, Picnic, have ALL been made possible by the efforts of these volunteers! I would encourage everyone that has spare time to get involved in some aspect of the club. All of the committees can use help at sometime during the year, so feel free to contact a Director or Officer. Our calendar is filling up for the upcoming year, and we will have more events then we had this past year. I hope to see everyone that can to get involved. This is our Club, and is here for our enjoyment and our guests. Have a Happy Thanksgiving, and a Merry Christmas. See you at the club! Dean Merkle Rick Gibbs Youth/Community Relations: Merry Christmas to all our members, guests and their families. Currently at this time I am fielding calls from organizations requesting to shoot at our facility in `11. At this time 2 Boy Scout Troops are looking at dates for the summer, and just this week I was contacted by the Paralyzed Veterans of America and the Women in the Outdoors. Youth and Community Relations is a very important part of our club, it's our link between the public and us. It shows our willingness to get involved with the community and introduce our sport to new shooters. `11 is going to be a even better year, and that's due to the efforts put forward by our membership. I have always felt very proud and privileged to be able to represent our organization. On a closing note; I would like to congratulate Andrew Narvick for making the Sub- Junior All-American Team. I hope to see everyone around DGSC sometime during the Holidays. Remember SAVE TIME & MONEY renew your NRA at the club while you re there shooting. 1 yr renewal/membership $25 when done at DGSC
