Vol. 51 Issue 7 October, 2018 Covering Tulsa through the air PREZ SAYS: Where has this year gone? We had our storm season, then summer and now it's fall. The club needs to think of what we are going to do for Christmas this year. If you have any ideals come to the meeting and let us know your ideals. Also we need to start thinking of getting an election committee together. So if you want to be on the committee or want to run for one of the offices come to the meeting or email me and let us know. I hope to see every one at the meeting October 23rd at Shiloh's Restaurant at 2604 N Aspen Ave, Broken Arrow. Meeting is at 7:00. Come early if you want to eat. Paul Young KE5EHM OCTOBER 23rd MEETING PLACE: Shiloh's Family Restaurant 2604 North Aspen Avenue in Broken Arrow ALL ARES-OKLAHOMA VOLUNTEERS OR PROSPECTIVE VOLUNTEERS: In This Issue PAGE 1 Prez Says October Meeting Place ARES-Oklahoma Launching ARES Connect PAGE 2 ARES-Oklahoma Launching ARES Connect Green Country Hamfest 2019 PAGE 3 TRO ARRL VE Test Session TRO Treasury Report of 10/20/18 PAGE 4 Activities Engineering Report Repeater Status ARES Net PAGE 5 Club Meetings VE Test Sessions PAGE 6 Hamfests PAGE 7 Making Contact TRO Officer Contact Information Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) is about to launch ARES-Connect, a new ARRL- Head Quarters volunteer portal for ARES volunteers. Our plan is that you will receive an email inviting you to register/log in to ARES-Connect. To help with this transition (for now ARES-OK will not be going away) PLEASE login into http://www.aresok.org sometime this week and make sure all of your information is up-to-date. Please delete any unused email and telephone contact info. WE ONLY NEED YOUR PRIMARY EMAIL ADDRESS - we do not need any extra email addresses (or you'll be receiving more than one invite). If you are unable to log into ARESOK.org please contact our webmaster via the *Contact Us* tab on the website. ACTIVITIES: I'd love to thank the rockstars of ham radio who have volunteered their time for the last two events: Ben Joplin, Paul Young, Stanley Callahan, Fred Williams, John Grace, Paul H. Teel, Michael Paxman, Jim Beach, Austin Wheeler, Dustin Dye, and Jerry Weikel. If I've missed anyone in the above list, I apologize. Without all of you - we couldn't support the events well -- without good support, the events may not succeed -- without great events, our community suffers and those whom we serve are at a disadvantage.
