Oyster and Jazz Festival - A Success on Many Levels One of our major fundraisers (to help pay the big bills) the Oyster and Jazz Festival was held last Sunday with some seriously good outcomes: First seriously good outcome: There was a splendid rollup of volunteers to assist before, during, and after the event. Thank you All! There were lots of comments regarding the cohesive teamwork displayed by our members during the preparation and staging of the event. e.g. everyone seemed so calm and happy working together (a visiting member of the public) I conducted a headcount of volunteers on Saturday morning and counted 35 volunteers working busily on various tasks (Lee Chapman) The oyster platter production line - happy volunteers at work!! 3 Tingira boat club newsletter 91 coast road macleay island qld 4184
There were lots of jobs to do - but luckily lots of willing volunteers to do them It was busy on the deck with oyster shuckers shucking and busy in the kitchen with lots of cooking and stirring to make one hell of a good fish mornay - Yumbo! And after the preparation was all over and done, there was time to celebrate with a coffee and a friendly chat.! 4 Tingira boat club newsletter 91 coast road macleay island qld 4184
Second seriously good outcome: A great lineup of local musicians.. Michael Mills opened with some smooth jazz from his jazz keyboard on the club s deck. and then ShapeShifter, Nuages and Mama Juju and The Jam Tarts played from the boat shed.
