Travelling Members From Geoff Eldridge I m currently in the UK doing the Coast to Coast Walk. Yesterday I did the 15 miles from Patterdale to Bampton Grange up past Angle Tarn to Kidsty Pike and on to Hawes Water. YV Club Conference Saturday 8 August The Yachting Victoria Club Conference brings together the leaders and decision makers from all the club around Victoria for a forfilling day. Location: Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Date: 8th August Time: Beginning at 9 am A fantastic day of networking with fellow sailing clubs. Sharing Best Practice. Planning a sustainable & successful future. Fantastic topics and speakers. Instead of coming down directly from Kidsty Pike I continued North along the old Roman road of High Street on the top and came down further along Hawes Water towards the dam at Mesand Beck. I then still had the walk to Burnbanks and Rosgil Bridge before taking the hard left turn to Bampton Grange. The photos are 1255 at the Straits of Riggindale looking South with High Street disappearing into the distance just before turning hard left at the bottom of a V to go around to Kidsty Pike, 1260 at Kidsty Pike (2570 ft) looking down to Hawes Water and 1290 further North towards Low Kop looking down at the dam at the end of Hawes Water. Hoping these images might inspire some of our Club s walkers.

Winter Walks - SBSC 2015 Next walk Saturday 5 th September The current trend of extra cold weather and sideways winds, meant that August s Winter Walk last Saturday didn t happen. However we are planning that by Saturday September 5th, things will have changed. The Briars visitor centre to Mt Martha and return. This is an easy 7km walk, along Balcombe Estuary, the last unspoilt waterway entering Port Phillip Bay. It is flat and some is on boardwalks, through mostly swamp scrub and paperbark trees. The coffee and cake at Mt Martha is delicious. Meet at the Briars Visitors centre, (Log Cabin building) in the grounds of The Briars, Nepean Highway at 9.30am. Ample safe parking. Approx 2 ½ hours. Ring Jan 0418 503 832 or email: jwoods50@bigpond.com to let us know you are coming Springsail 2015 21st & 22nd Sept (Day after Supersail) The 2015/16 Springsail is set to be an interactive, exciting and insightful way to spend the school holidays!
