NOMINEES FOR DIRECTOR OF WINCHESTER YOUTH HOCKEY Patrick Aufiero (candidate for re-election) TWO-YEAR TERM, MAY 2018 MAY 2020 (Nominees are listed in alphabetical order) Pat has served as a board member for Winchester Youth Hockey since 2016 and currently holds the role of secretary. For the past two seasons, Pat has overseen and coached in the Learn to Play Hockey Program and Introduction to Hockey Program and is a Level 3 USA Hockey certified coach. Pat was raised in Winchester and moved back with his family in 2009. He and his wife Meghan have two children Emmett (7) who will be playing in the Mites next season and Patrick (5) who will be playing in the Learn to Play Program. Patrick played three years of Varsity Hockey at Winchester High School before playing his senior season for the United States National U-18 Team, which was the program s inaugural season. Patrick moved on to play in college at Boston University where he was drafted by the New York Rangers and played for the US World Junior Team in 2000. After concluding his collegiate career, Patrick signed with the Rangers and played two seasons in their American Hockey League affiliate, the Hartford Wolfpack. He also played for the Providence Bruins and concluded his career in Germany s Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) where he suffered a career ending knee injury. Patrick is also on the board of the Friends of Flynn Rink and was previously a board member of the Friends of Boston University Hockey for 4 years. He has coached throughout his career including in the Massachusetts Satellite Training Program and USA Hockey. Patrick received his law degree from Suffolk University and is the General Counsel at Alternate Concepts, Inc. Aimee Burke (candidate for re-election) Aimee Burke grew up in Winchester and has been living here for the past 15 years with her husband Dan and their 3 girls. Sally (age 13) and Edie (age 11) have been playing in The Winchester Youth program for 5 years and 3 years, respectively. Aimee was the U8 girls head coach in 2015-2016 and has been on the board for the past 2 years. She sat on the ice-committee, the conduct committee and supported the Girls Program, which she hopes to continue to grow. Aimee works in Sales at FamilyID. Jeff Caputo Jeff and his family have lived in Winchester for 12 years. He and his wife Kricket have three boys all of whom have participated in Winchester Youth Hockey. John (11) and Andrew (7) will be returning next season to play on Pee Wee and Mite teams. Jeff is a level 3 certified coach and has been involved as head coach and assistant coach for several teams over the past six years. He has also been a coach of Winchester Soccer Club teams. Jeff participated in youth hockey and youth
soccer programs in Minnesota and continued to play varsity soccer at St Olaf College. Jeff received his MBA from Boston College and is an early stage investor and operator in the medical device industry Scott D. Ettenhofer (candidate for re-election) Board member since 2012, Treasurer since 2014 Resident of Winchester since December 2005. Three (3) children involved in WYH. Head Coach Girls U12 & 14 2015,2016,2017 Played King Philip/Walpole Youth Hockey. Varsity High School Hockey, King Philip Regional High School, 1984-1988. Junior Varsity Hockey, Merrimack College, 1988-1989. Erik Gustafson Erik and family moved to Winchester in 2015, after spending over 9 years living and working in Europe (London and Stockholm) with Fidelity. He and his wife Julie have three children, Gus (10), Scarlett (9) and Henrik (soon 4), and all three are involved in the WYH program. Gus and Scarlett first learned to skate outdoors and play hockey in Stockholm s SDE club program. Since moving to Winchester, Erik has been an on-ice practice helper for all of Gus s and Scarlett s teams, and then last year Erik became USA Hockey-certified and served as assistant coach for the Squirt 3 team. Erik grew up in Rhode Island, playing in the Providence Capitals youth hockey program and then serving as captain of his high school team at Moses Brown School, where he actively led a successful campaign to have the school accepted into the RI Interscholastic League. After college he played in the Chelsea Piers adult hockey league in New York. With a varied background, Erik hopes to be able to offer different perspectives and ideas to the Board of Directors. Erik received his BA from Trinity College and an MBA from Columbia Business School and since 2005 he has worked for the Pembroke Real Estate group of Fidelity, currently as a Senior Vice President and Portfolio Manager. Off the ice, the family enjoys soccer, baseball, tennis, and swimming.
David Hood David is a lifelong Winchester resident and huge proponent of town sports. He and his wife Anna have three children, all hockey players with Winchester Youth Hockey at the Pewee, Mite and U12 Girls levels. David has served in many youth sports roles having been a head and assistant coach for baseball, soccer and skating many times with his kids hockey teams at all levels. David strongly believes in the importance of character development and athleticism in youth sports. He is the Director of Product Marketing at Mimecast and on the Board of Trustees at the Winchester Savings Bank. Amy Mariani Amy Mariani and her husband John moved to Winchester in 2005 with their son Michael (13). She has been an on-ice volunteer for WYH since their younger son Chris (11) began playing in Tri-City, serving as an assistant coach at the Learn to Play, Squirt, and PeeWee Level. A USA Hockey Level 3 certified coach, she hopes to be on the bench again next season before the teenage boys don t want a mom on the bench! While she didn t play hockey as a child, she grew up on the ice and around the game. A former president of the Winchester Neighbors Club, she has been active in volunteer work both in her community and in her profession (trial lawyer and now mediator), serving on the boards of the American Bar Association s Young Lawyers Division, the Massachusetts Bar Association, and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education. When Amy and John have free time and aren t with their boys on the ice, soccer field, or lacrosse field, you can usually find them at Mountain Strength Crossfit, where Amy serves as the nutrition coach and John serves as the assistant head coach. Steve Mix (candidate for re-election) Steve Mix has served as a board member for Winchester Youth Hockey since 2010. He has held roles as the secretary, treasurer, controller and registrar. He has also served as a coach in Winchester youth hockey since 2007. Outside of the rink Steve is active in the community as a member of the Rotary Club of Winchester. He is currently the president of the club. Professionally, Steve has been in the mortgage industry for the last fifteen years and works for Mortgage Network, Inc. in Waltham. Steve's wife Cathy and their two children have lived in Winchester since 2004.
Michael Moe Moran Moe and his wife Lindsay (Santini) have been Winchester residents for nearly 3 years. Lindsay grew up in town and attended WHS. They have two boys: Vincent (5) and Joey (2). Last season Moe was the head coach of the Learn To Play Bruins Hockey program. He is planning to coach LTPH Tri city for the upcoming 2018-19 season and his son Vincent will continue to participate in LTPH. He was also a coach for Winchester Youth Baseball - Tball last season and is assisting with Winchester Youth Lacrosse (Kindergarten) this spring. Past experiences include working youth hockey schools for 7 summers during and after college at West Point Military Academy, Rochester Institute of Technology and Newton Day Camp. Moe served on the Board of Directors for ALS Association of MA from 2006 2009. Moe grew up in Reading and played there for his entire youth hockey career. He played hockey at Austin Prep where he was part of a State Championship team in 1989. He finished his high school career at Lawrence Academy and was an ISL All-Star. He then went on to play four years of varsity hockey for Bentley College being named captain his Junior and Senior year. He was first team ECAC and All New England Writers in 1994. Following Bentley, Moe played two years of professional hockey in Huntsville, AL and West Palm Beach, FL. He was recently honored to be inducted into the Austin Prep Hall of Fame. Moe graduated from Bentley College with a BS in Marketing and currently works as a Client Executive of Gartner Research, an information technology research and advisory firm. Dan O Connell (candidate for re-election) Daniel O Connell is a lifelong Winchester resident whose father was a Winchester Youth Hockey board member and served as board president. Dan has coached Learn to Play Hockey, squirt 4s, squirt 2s and is scheduled to coach the Pee Wee 3 team next season. Dan has three children, who are all involved in town sports (hockey, football, baseball, lacrosse and cheerleading). Dan has previously coached kid s baseball, flag football and basketball in town. Dan has coached at the high school level as the Junior Varsity Boy s Hockey Coach at Austin Prep. Dan is a Lieutenant with the Winchester Police Department and currently is second in command of the department. He played his high school hockey years for Winchester High, Austin Prep and Northfield Mount Hermon. Dan still enjoys playing pickup hockey once a week with friends. Frank Perrone Frank grew up in Winchester and returned to live here with his wife and two boys, both who play town sports. His youngest son played Tri-City, Mite, Squirt, and is now on to Pee-Wee next year. This year he was assistant coach for the Squirt 3 hockey team. He has also helped coach practices at the Mite level and volunteered to run drills at tryouts. Currently Frank is playing pickup hockey with some of the WYH coaches, and has played in leagues for over 20 years. In addition to hockey, Frank has been an assistant coach for sandlot soccer and little league baseball in Winchester. He attended Syracuse University and has worked for Fidelity Investments for over 13 years.
Maureen Quill Pimentel Maureen is a lifelong resident of Winchester. She and her husband Mike have 2 children Quinn (10) and Riley (8). Both children have been involved with Winchester Youth Hockey for 6 years and her husband has helped coach multiple teams. Maureen has also been actively involved in Winchester Youth Soccer as a coach in town and travel soccer, an age group coordinator for the 2nd grade girls program and a board member for the past three years. She has helped grow the preschool soccer program and helps coordinate the in town soccer league. Growing up in Winchester Maureen played youth soccer through high school and college and coached high school soccer at Matignon High School. Maureen is a pediatric nurse practitioner at Boston Children's Hospital and Commonwealth Pediatrics in Stoneham. Brian Tammaro Brian played high school hockey at St. John s Prep and has been involved in Winchester Youth Hockey ( WYH ) for the last two seasons. Brian coached Intro to Hockey for the last two years and this past season served as head coach for the Coyotes in the Tri-City program. In addition to coaching hockey, Brian assists with coaching in both the town baseball and lacrosse programs. Brian, his wife Beth and their three children Parker (7), Claire (6) and Max (3) moved to Winchester from Boston three and a half years ago. This upcoming season, Parker will be in Mites and Claire will be in the Tri-City program and Max will be in the Learn to Skate program. Brian has worked for Citizens Financial Group for the past 10 years in their Capital Markets Group, covering the New England and Metro New York areas.
