We lost the toss and were put into bat in oercast conditions. Adam Reynolds and Michael Papadakis got us off to a solid start being 0-15 after 8 oers. Unfortunately that's where it started and finished with our batting innings. We weren't able to get a significant partnership together and we were all out for 66. We had 45 minutes before lunch and credit to Dylan Olley and Charley mith were able to claim two wickets just before lunch, giing us a slim chance! After the break Nick Walker and the skipper were able to claim a wicket each howeer it wasn't enough before Mentone passed our total. Obiously, not our best performance but we still hae an opportunity to play finals when we take on Assumption next week! Just a quick thank you to the curators and lunch ladies (Including Meg cholz) who always make sure Yarra is a great experience for all opposition schools to come and play!

YV started well with hyan iaratnam & Bassel Judeh getting us underway with a 8-2 ictory. We were highly competitie and fighting for each game in all 3 of the other matches as well, but fell just short in all 3 with some fantastic tennis all round. The reerse doubles was much the same with Mentone taking the ascendancy 3-1, but Joel Harris & Edwin Van Raensteyn managed to hold strong and claim their match 8-4 in a great display of doubles.
Heading into the singles the boys remained upbeat and determined to continually put their best foot forward. Bassel Judeh fought hard right until the end, Edwin was going hold for hold throughout the majority of his match, falling just short of ictory right at the end, and young gun Yaya Bushnaq put in another strong performance battling it out against a player 3 years his senior. Joel Harris was fantastic pulling off a 8-7 tie break in the last match of the day. econds Koles The Firsts this week tried their best but against the powerhouse team Camberwell, it ended up being a good lesson for all. There were 3 sets where we almost came out on top, but unfortunately on the crucial points Camberwell stood firm. The game was played in great spirit and the boys didn t let the score stop them from trying.
