GMAS enters teams into the WA State Interschool Championship, at the State Equestrian Centre annually. This gives students to the opportunity to represent GMAS in the areas of Dressage, Jumping, Show Horse and Combined Training. The competition runs over four days and has an emphasis on fun and team spirit. Riders who compete at the State Interschool Championship also have the chance to qualify for the Australian Interschool Championship which is held in different state each year. Interschool caters for riders aged 5-18 years and is run under three divisions - Primary, Intermediate and Secondary. GMAS runs a Hook In2 Hockey Program at GMAS after school, enters teams of boys and girls from Years 3 - Year 8 into the local competition. GMAS teams are coached by staff and parent volunteers. All team members are expected to train weekly after school here at GMAS, the Year 6 8 team also attending turf training at Busselton Hockey Club. Interested riders will be provided with an outline of the schedule of rides for each year to allow for planning. Parental participation is encouraged on the rides. Towards the end of the year we would look to run an extended trip to possibly Canberra or Tasmania. The program introduces these students to Netball and assists in their development leading up to GMAS Netball. Fun Net enables all students to develop self-esteem, social skills, skills development and competence in Netball in a fun environment. Students learn the skills of Netball through appropriate activities and games, taught through a program with modified rules.
