Ag Leader Technology Important Notices Please carefully follow these step-by-step instructions. If you have questions, contact Ag Leader Technology at 515-232-5363 x 1. Direction words (LEFT and RIGHT) are commonly used when describing an installation procedure. Interpret direction words as if standing behind equipment facing forward. Signal words (DANGER, WARNING, CAUTION and NOTE) are provided to draw attention to information that is important for the safe/correct installation and operation of this product. Indicates an imminently hazardous situation that, if not avoided, is likely to result in serious injury or even death. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, could result in serious injury or even death. Indicates a potentially hazardous situation that, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. CAUTION Indicates practices that may result in property damage, but do not involve personal injury. NOTE The preferred signal word to address practices not involving property damage, or personal injury. 2 April 2015 Rev B
NOTE: On Kinze 4000 series planters, it is possible to tee into an existing hydraulic valve at the rear of the planter in order to eliminate the need for routing long hydraulic hoses from the down force valve to the tractor. The following steps detail that procedure. 1. Locate H-Frame valve block near center of toolbar as shown in Figures 1 & 2. Return Pressure Figure 1. Ag Leader Technology Tank (case drain) Figure 2. H-frame valve block (photo taken while standing on left side of tongue) 2. Tee hydraulic hoses of down force valve block into the appropriate fittings of Kinze valve block as described in steps A through C. For electric drive planters, circuits described will be connected to power pack (alternator). For ground drive planters, circuits described will be capped and therefore run tees will not be required. a. Return circuit (labeled E1 on valve block) Install a -12 JIC run tee at the fitting shown in Figure 1. Then install a -12 to -08 JIC reducer to match the return hose from the down force valve block. b. Pressure circuit (labeled F1 on valve block) Install a -10 JIC run tee at the fitting shown in Figure 1. Then install -10 to -06 JIC reducer to match the pressure hose from the down force valve block. c. Tank (case drain) circuit (labeled D8 on valve block) Intall a -08 JIC run tee at the fitting shown in Figure 2. No reducer is required to match the tank hose from the down force valve block. NOTE: If installing on an electric drive planter, installation is complete. If installing on a ground drive planter, proceed to step 3. 3. Locate hitch valve block as shown in Figures 3 & 4. 4 April 2015 Rev B

Ag Leader Technology Tank (case drain) Return Pressure Figure 4. Hitch valve block (close-up) 4. On a ground drive planter, A2 and A3 port fittings will be capped from the factory. Remove caps, so that provided pressure and return hoses can be connected to valve block. A1 is the tank (case drain) port and should already have a hose connected from the factory on all models. 5. Locate return hose (larger diameter than pressure hose) with an SCV quick-connect on one end and a -12 FJIC swivel connector on the other end. Connect FJIC fitting to port A2 as shown in Figure 4. 6. Locate pressure hose with an SCV quick-connect on one end and a -10 FJIC swivel connector on the other end. Connect FJIC fitting to port A3 as shown in Figure 4. 7. Connect pressure and return quick-connect fittings to an SCV on tractor. SVC must be configured for continuous flow. 6 April 2015 Rev B
