This is good news for the Tigers as they have went 1-2 in trips to Texas this season. Mizzou is now 18-4 on the year and 9-4 in the Big 12 Conference under the tutelage of Head Coach Susan Kreklow and Associate Head Coach Wayne Kreklow. The 18 overall wins are the most by a Tiger team since 1992, when that squad was 22-11. The nine conference wins is also a record for an MU volleyball team during the program s time in both the Big 8 (1983-95) and the Big 12 (1996-2000). The previous high was seven in 1983 and also in 1984. Turning their attention to the Bears, the Tigers trail Baylor in the all-time series, 6-3. However, Mizzou has won the last two contests between the two, including the 3-2 thriller that took place in Columbia on Sept. 23. Sophomore outside hitter Lisa Morris paced the Tigers in that match, putting down a then career-high 21 kills in the five-game marathon. Baylor, which is 13-9 overall and 6-7 in the Big 12, is coming off a 0-3 loss last Friday to a steadily-improving Texas team. The Bears are 6-4 in their last 10 matches and have won three of their last five. If one is looking for the definition of an offensive juggernaut on the volleyball court, one needs to look no further than Baylor super frosh Stevie Nicholas. Nicholas has recorded at least 20 kills in 12 matches this season, tying a BU school record. She averages 5.73 kills per game and was a Tiger killer in the last meeting putting down 34 kills. # Name Pos. Ht. Yr. Hometown (Previous School) 1 Rachael Taylor DS 5-4 Jr. Kirkwood, Mo. Of the four MU losses, two have come in Texas (the 0-3 setback to A&M on Oct. 21 and a 2-3 loss to Texas Tech on Sept. 27). Mizzou has one trip to Texas remaining on the schedule when it travels to Baylor this week The lone win in the Lone Star State came on Wed., Oct. 4, when the Tigers swept Texas. 2,009-A New Standard in a New Era Mizzou played in front of the largest home crowd in school history in its loss to No. 1 Nebraska on Wed., Oct 25, 2000. MU Jumps into Top 30 in Attendance Susan and Wayne Kreklow have brought a winning attitude and a new look to Missouri Volleyball. The Tigers average 771 fans per home contest and have attracted six of the top 10 largest home crowds in the programs 27-year history. Myers tied the Big 12 single match record with her five solo block performance. She finished the night with 12 total blocks. Yvette Buhlig set the MU school record when she averaged 4.68 kills per game in 1992. Junior Kristen Johnson has also been outstanding thus far for the Tigers. She is recovering from a left knee injury expected to return to the Tiger lineup in approximately one week. Johnson is third on the squad in kills (194) and attacks (417). She is third on the team in hitting percentage, hitting a robust.341 on the year.
