PUBLIC SERVICE CITY60 BIKE-RUN CHALLENGE 2017 EVENT INFORMATION Date / Time : Sunday, 15 October 2017, 5:00am to 12:00pm Venue : Singapore Sports Hub Closing date for entries : 27 September 2017 RULES & REGULATIONS 1 TITLE 1.1 The Public Service Bike-Run Challenge is held in conjunction with the Civil Service Club City60 Bike-Run Challenge 2017. 2 ELIGIBILITY 2.1 The Public Service Bike-Run Challenge is open to all civil servants and employees of Statutory Boards, Government-aided Schools and Restructured Hospitals. 2.2 The following personnel are not eligible to compete in the Public Service Bike- Run Challenge. a) Public officers who had represented Singapore (including those as Reserves) in SEA Games, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games or Olympic Games from 2015 to 2017, b) Triathletes who are professional triathletes for Clubs, etc from the years 2015-2017, and c) Full-time National Servicemen 2.3 Athletes must be 18 years of age or over to race in the City60 distance (Individual or ), and 16 years of age or over to race in the City30 distance (Individual or ), City15 or City6. 1 /6
3 REGISTRATION 3.1 Sports Liaison Officers can register their teams and make payment online at http://www.city60bikerun.com/public-officer-entry/. 3.2 Completion of the official online registration form confirms the participant's agreement to abide by the relevant race Rules and Regulations. 3.3 Public Officers are eligible for 20% discount off the General public published rates. Rates indicated in the website are discounted rates. 3.4 Teams must indicate the name of their agency that they are representing in the registration portal. 3.5 Public Officers must enter their office email address to confirm that their status. 4 PUBLIC SERVICE EVENTS 4.1 The Public Service Bike-Run Challenge shall comprise Individual and Team Relay events. 4.2 Participants taking part in City60 must be 18 years old above as at 31 December 2017. 4.3 Participants taking part in City30, City16 and City6 must be 16 years old above as at 31 December 2017. 4.2 Public Service Bike-Run Individual Events 4.2.1 The Public Service Bike-Run Individual events and the distances to be covered by the individual are as follow: INDIVIDUAL EVENTS 1 st Run Bike 2 nd Run RACE Distance Laps Distance Laps Distance Laps City60 7km 1 x 7km 46km 4x 11.5km 7km 1x 7km City30 3.5km 1 x 3.5km 23km 2x 11.5km 3.5km 1x 3.5km City15 2km 1 x 2km 11km 1 x 11km 2km 1x 2km City6 750m 1 x 750m 4.5km 1 x 4.5km 750m 1x 750m 2 /6

6 PRIZES 6.1 Trophies/medals shall be awarded to the top three individuals/teams. 6.2 Cash prizes of $350, $300, $250 and $200 shall be awarded to the 1 st, 2 nd, 3 rd and 4 th Men and Women Relay teams respectively in the City 60 Relay Team Event only. 7 CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS 7.1 Championship points shall be awarded in accordance with the STAR Games General Rules. 7.2 Only the City60 Men s and Women s events will accrue STAR games points. 7.3 There must be a minimum of eight (8) participating agencies in the event for points to be awarded. 7.3 The overall champion in the Public Service Bike-Run Challenge will be awarded a trophy. 8 PRIZE GIVING CEREMONY 8.1 All prizes will be given out on the race day. 8.2 Winners must produce their identification cards and bibs when collecting the prizes. All prizes must be collected on race day otherwise they will be forfeited. Participants must be present to claim their prizes during the prize presentation, failing which the prizes will be forfeited. 8.3 Captains of winning Public Service Officer Relay Teams must ensure that their teams are present to collect the prizes. 8.4 Prize winners must be officially registered race participants otherwise they will be disqualified. Any team that fields unregistered or ineligible member(s) will be disqualified. 9 RACE PACK 9.1 All Participants must collect their race packs that include the Timing Chip, Race Bibs, Security Bracelet and Bike Flag on the designated Race Kit Collection Day Saturday 7 October 2017. 9.2 If Participants are unable to collect their race pack in person, they may appoint a representative to collect on their behalf with the Authorisation Form. Please note that representatives must produce a copy of their identity 4 /6
card/photo ID, completed PAR-Q, disclaimer form, and participant s entry confirmation email together with the signed Authorisation Form. 9.3 No late collection will be entertained. Race packs which are not collected after the collection date will be deemed as property of the Organiser who reserves the right to dispose or re-distribute them accordingly. 9.4 Race kits cannot be collected on race day. 10 WEARING OF RACE BIBS AND TIMING BAND 10.1 Participants must wear the assigned number bib and timing band as instructed. Participants who are not wearing the number bib and timing band will not be allowed to enter the starting area and will be taken off the course by security officers. 11 RESULTS AND TIMING 11.1 The Timing Band is the sole means of race timing measurement. 11.2 All participants must ensure that their Timing Band are securely strapped to their left ankle before beginning on any leg of the race. Participants not adhering to the rule of strapping the Timing Band to their left ankle before the start of their race will be disqualified. 11.3 All participants in relay teams are responsible for passing their Timing Band to their teammates at designated areas after completing their respective legs. Passing of Timing Band outside of the designated area would result in immediate disqualification. 12 APPEAL/PROTEST 12.1 Participant who wishes to protest against another competitor or notify a violation must do so in writing to the Organisers within 30 minutes of his/her finish time. All protests must be made in accordance with the existing ITU Rules. A deposit of SGD80/US$50 or equivalent must accompany the appropriate protest and will be refunded if the protest is successful. 13 INDEMNITY 13.1 Whilst every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organiser to ensure the participants' safety, participants compete in the event at their own risk and the Civil Service Club will not be responsible or held liable for any loss or damage, personal or otherwise, injury or death, howsoever arising during participation in the race. 5 /6
13.2 Participants are strongly advised to go for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration and before the actual race day. 13.3 Participants are advised not to compete if they are not feeling well. A participant must retire from the race immediately, if required to do so by any member of the official medical staff, Race Director, Referee and/or Security Officer. DISCLAIMER The Civil Service Club and the event organiser reserve the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date and/or time of the competition at its discretion due to inclement weather, facility problem or any other situation deemed as appropriate. The Civil Service Club, the event organiser and their servants and/or agents will not be held responsible for any claims arising out of any death or injury, damage or loss, suffered or caused while attending this competition, and this includes all costs and expenses incurred as a result of such claims.
