Bulletin and Competition Guidelines 2018 World Elite University Dragon Boat Regatta No.1 Regatta: Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province (June 15-19) No.2 Regatta: Chifeng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region (June 20-24)
1. Date: June 15-19 and June 20-24. 2. Venue: Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province & Chifeng, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 3. Instructing Unit: International Canoe Federation-Dragon Boat Committee, Chinese Canoe Association. 4. Organizer: Administration of Sports in Jiangsu & Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 5. Co-organizer: Administration of Culture, Radio, Television and Press Publication in Jiangsu & Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. 6. Promoter:Beijing Shangyong Zhixing Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd. 7. Participants: The Chinese Canoeing Association will recommend 6-8 teams from Chinese Universities and the International Canoe Federation (ICF) will recommend 6 teams from international renowned institutes to compete. 8. Athletes entry requirements: Athletes must comply with the Ministry of Education of the relevant institutions of higher education entrance examination, admission requirements and have a formal school status as university-based or college-based undergraduate and graduate students. 9. Event Categories: (1) Mixed 12 Crew (Small Dragon Boat) straight 200 meters (Requirements: at least four women paddlers per boat). (2) Mixed 12 Crew (Small Dragon Boat) straight 500 meters (Requirements: at least four women paddlers per boat).
10. Competition arrangements: (1) The latest "International Canoe Federation (ICF) Competition Rules" will be applied. (2) The competition equipment shall be prepared by the organizing committee. All participating units may bring their own paddles which comply with ICF competition rules. (3) Each team has to prepare its own uniform for competition and medal ceremony. Members of each team should wear consistent clothing. (4) There are 4 lanes in the competition courses. The competition will be carried out in the form of heats and finals according to the number of entries. (5) Drawing of lanes: Drawing for the lanes will be held at the Team Leaders Meeting. (6) Trophies: Top 3 will be rewarded with the medals and certificates, the 4th-6th Dragon Boat Team will be awarded the certificates; All attended athletes will receive certificates of participation. (7) Personal accident insurance during the competition period for all athletes, referees and staff members will be purchased by the Organizing Committee. (8) At the Team Leaders Meeting, the final entry confirmation and lane drawing will be conducted according to the rules. 11. Entry requirements: (1) Each participating unit shall register athletes and staff members (leader or coaches, athlete may also act as coach) in accordance with the ratio of 5: 1. (2) Athletes eligibility requirements: All participating athletes are required to be regular college students (who have not participated in professional canoeing and dragon boat races organized by CCA and ICF). (3) Completed entry form(s) in electronic format, together with image of athlete s ID document, student ID card and all participant s passport photo (no head-gear) to be sent before May 15, 2018 to zhangyang@sysports.com.cn Mr. Charlie Zhang 12. Financial arrangements: (1) The Organizing Committee will be responsible for the local accommodation expenses and local transportation expenses of the 15 participants per team (including athletes and staff members) during the competition. Excessive participants are required to pay 700 yuan / person / day (or US $ 100).
13. Check-In: (1) Crews are required to arrive at Lianyungang, Jiangsu Province for the 1st regatta on June 15, 2018, the Organizing Committee will provide free airport pick-up service for Lianyungang Airport (IATA: LYG, ICAO: ZSLG). After finishing, all crews will departure for the 2nd regatta on June 19, 2018 from Lianyungang Airport to Chifeng Airport (IATA: CIF, ICAO: ZBCF). Free airport pickup service will be provided. (2) A brief description of the school (not more than 500 words) shall be sent to zhangyang@sysports.com.cn before May 20. (3) During check-in, the Organizing Committee will check the identity of the athletes including their student ID cards, the personal health certificate (issued by the hospital at the county level or above) and the individual's undertaking on competence to swim 200-meters. 14. Disclaimer All participating teams and athletes must ensure that the participating students are themselves healthy, able to swim 200 meters without any buoyant and are responsible for their own safety. For any loss of property or personal injury before, during or after the competition, or death, etc., the organizers, contractors, co-organizers, sponsors, organizing committee, competition officials and staff will not be held responsible. 15. The Referees and Jury Members will be determined by the Competition Organizing Committee. 16. Supplementary points to be notified separately at the Team Leaders Meeting. 17.
