Contact information: JP Roukis- Treasure Coast Stables/516-641-7688/jroukis@tcshowseries.com Mailing Address: 11863 Wimbledon Circle Unit 441 Wellington FL 33414 About IEA: IEA is a nationwide middle and high school riding program aimed at providing a relatively low cost method of allowing students to compete in the show jumping sport. Teams are formed all over the country and riders take regular lessons to practice for competitions. At competitions, riders use horses assigned at random that are provided by the competition, not their own horse or horses from their riding program. About the Instructors: The 2016/2017 school season is the inaugural season for the TCS team. Treasure Coast Stable s head trainer JP Roukis has partnered with Shanna Shachenbacher to provide the most comprehensive program of any IEA team. Shanna has an expertise in developing grass roots riders in a way that gives them the strongest foundation possible in a positive atmosphere. JP Roukis has a track record of developing young riders to the top of the sport. Riders training with JP have reached the Grand Prix level in show jumping, ribbons in regional equitation finals, championships at major competitions including multiple champions at WEF, and participation in national equitation finals including ASPCA Maclay finals. Riders from Treasure Coast Stables have also gone on to receive significant scholarships to ride in the NCAA program in college. Section I: Winter Season- Dates The winter season will run December 16 th -April 30 th. Should a rider qualify for Zone, Regional, or National finals, those will be held in April. Next year a fall season will be offered as well. Section II: Fees The fee per season (4 ½ months per season) will be $2,200 payable via check to Treasure Coast Stables LLC at 11863 Wimbledon Circle Unit 441 Wellington FL 33414. This will include 38 lessons and 4 clinics. Details on lessons and clinics are provided below. There are additional fees should a rider want to participate in a competition. Details are provided below. Team

members must also pay $60 (as of 9/28/16) to register with IEA prior to going to a show by going on the IEA website and submitting a rider member form. Section III: Lesson Details Lessons will be offered Tuesday-Friday of every week of the season. Shanna Shachenbacher will provide all lessons. Riders are responsible for scheduling their own lessons directly with Shanna. Scheduling lessons one week prior, or keeping a regular scheduled lesson time is advisable. Lessons will be provided on school horses provided by Shanna Shachenbacher. Riders will be responsible for grooming their horse before and after their lesson as well as tacking and untacking their horse. Assistance with this will be provided for beginner or inexperienced riders. Shanna may put riders in groups or single lessons depending on schedule and horse availability. Lessons will range from 30 minutes to one hour. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled lesson and plan on staying at least 30 minutes after the completion of the lesson. All riders will be guaranteed time availability for two lessons per week. If a rider is unable to take two lessons in a given week, the rider may take additional lessons on a subsequent week only if schedule availability allows. If Shana is unable to offer two lessons to a rider in a given week due to her unavailability, the rider will be offered a make-up time the following week. Make-up lessons will not be guaranteed if missed due to inclement weather, but every effort will be made to re-schedule lessons if inclement weather forces a cancelation. If a rider does not take 38 lessons in a season no refund will be provided, the lessons are not credited towards a future season, and the missed lessons may not be credited towards shows. Riders are encouraged to take as many lessons as possible in a season. If a rider is expected to exceed 38 lessons in a season, the parent will be notified when the rider reaches approximately 34 lessons. With parental permission, if a rider then exceeds 38 lessons, any additional lessons will be billed at the end of the season at a discounted rate of $50 per lesson. Clinics: The seasonal registration fee includes participation in 1 clinic per month (4 per season) provided by JP Roukis. Clinic dates will be announced at least 30 days prior. Each rider will be guaranteed space in one clinic per month. If a rider is unable to attend a clinic, no refund or credit will be issued. Clinics will last for 1-1.5hrs of riding time and it is recommended riders arrive 15-30 minutes ahead of time and stay for 30 minutes after. A lecture or other additional educational activity may be included on some clinic days. Section IV: Attire All team riders must wear a tucked in collared shirt, long pants, a closed toed shoe, and a belt. Hair must be in a neat braid on put up inside the helmet. It is recommended that jeans or riding pants be worn and paddock boots or other riding boots be worn. A safety approved helmet will be provided by Shanna Schachenbacher, but riders may purchase and use a personal helmet if they so choose. Section V: Horse show competition fees The following costs are associated with attending an IEA show: Coaching fee: $75 per day for coaching at an IEA competition. Most competitions are one day. Trainer Hotel and Travel Splits: If a show s location requires coach(s) to need hotel and/or airfare, attending riders will split associated costs. Parents may request an estimate of the above fees prior to signing up for a show. Show Fees: Riders will be responsible for show fees to the competition. These fees are typically about $80 per show. An estimate may be requested prior to each show. Split Horse Fee: Shows may require a lease fee for horses used in competition. An expected range for this fee would be $50-$75/rider. An estimate may be requested prior

to each show. Section VI: Horse show competition information A completed show sign-up form available on the TCS website must be completed in order to attend each competition. Treasure Coast Stables IEA Team will announce the shows we will be attending approximately 90 days prior to each competition. Information about competition format and individual show details can be found on the IEA website. Each show has a reservation deadline. Some shows may have a maximum number of riders so signing up at least 30 days prior is advisable. JP Roukis will be scheduled to act as the trainer at all competitions. 5 riders must sign up in order to guarantee the IEA team s attendance at a show. If less than 5 riders sign up, JP Roukis will announce 7 days prior if the team will be attending the show with less than 5 riders. Section VII: Riders with private horses If a rider owns or full leases a horse with either Shanna Shachenbacher or JP Roukis, he/she will be exempt from enrolling in the seasonal package and will be entitled to be on the team for only the IEA membership fee. Section VIII: Riders enrolling after the start of the season: Any rider interested in joining the team after the start of the season should contact JP Roukis for availability of a custom lesson/clinic package. If enrollment is towards the end of the season and a custom package is not available, services will be billed on an a-la-cart basis at $65/lesson, $125/clinic, $100 coaching fee/show. Section IX: Rules and Regulations All riders must abide by rules set forth either verbally or in writing by either Shana Shachenacher or JP Roukis. Any rider who fails or comply with the directions of the coaches or shows the potential to harm themselves, a team mate, or an animal may be immediately removed from the team without a refund of membership fees. X: Billing and Registration Treasure Coast Stables LLC shall be paid for all seasonal membership fees by check. In order to complete registration, this completed packet and a check for the full seasonal membership amount ($2,200) must be received by JP Roukis prior to the start of each season unless other arrangements are made. The credit card information provided shall be run for any show associated costs including coaching, trainer hotel and travel splits, and horse lease splits.
