FFV 2014 FINAL SERIES MEN S METROPOLITAN LEAGUE PRELIMINARY GUIDE General Information and Format The fixtures of the FFV 2014 Final Series will be conducted on the 21 st and 28 th September 2014 for the top placed team* in each league. *Please note Metropolitan League 1 and Metropolitan League 7 South-East will include the top 4 teams as these are standalone competitions in their respective divisions. Table 1 lists the league categories involved in the FFV 2014 Final Series and the format that applies to that category. Champions and Runners-up pennants will be presented to both teams by FFV after each Final on the 28 th September. Fixtures* Games will be scheduled on 21 st and 28 th September. Mid-week fixtures will only be included if matches are postponed or abandoned and need to be rescheduled for the FFV 2014 Final Series to proceed. The fixture for FFV 2014 Final Series matches on the 21 st of September will be released on the 15 th of September. The fixture for FFV 2014 Final Series matches on the 28 th of September will be released on the 22 nd of September. *FFV reserves the right to alter any fixture as required at any time after this point. All changes will be distributed to clubs as soon as practically possible. 1
Rules The FFV 2014 Final Series will be conducted under the 2014 Rules of Competition. FFV reserves the right to shorten matches to accommodate all required fixtures. Players must have played a minimum of five matches for their team in the 2014 FFV Competition Season to be eligible to participate for that team in the FFV 2014 Final Series. Any suspension from the regular season will carry over to the FFV 2014 Final Series. Extra time will apply as listed below if scores are tied at the end of normal time. Age Group Duration of Matches Normal Time Applicable Extra Time Seniors 2 x 45 minute halves (= 90 minutes) 2 x 15 minute halves If scores are tied at the end of extra time a penalty shoot out will occur. Host Venue Selection and Responsibilities* Host venues are currently being selected. All clubs have the opportunity to apply to host FFV 2014 Finals Series fixtures. Applications will be accepted by clicking HERE and completing the online form. Alternatively, go to www.footballfedvic.com.au and click through Competitions Football Metro Online Forms. Clubs of host venues will provide all match balls and must be one of FFV s 2014 ball licensees (Adidas, Nike, Patrick, Mitre). These clubs will also be responsible for the preparation of all pitches including line marking, corner flags and goal nets. Host clubs must also provide a stretcher and basic first aid kit (band-aids, bandages and ice pack). They are also encouraged to run a canteen on the day. *Metropolitan League 1 and Metropolitan League 7 South-East only: teams who finish in 1 st and 2 nd positions in each league at the conclusion of the 2014 Regular Season shall be entitled to host its Week 1 FFV Finals Series at their home venue on September 21 st. The finals for these respective leagues will be scheduled at a neutral venue confirmed by FFV on September 28 th. Participating Club Responsibilities Match Official Fees apply as per the regular 2014 Competition Season. The two clubs participating in each fixture are responsible for half of this fee each.* Participating clubs will be invoiced for Match Official fees prior to their Finals fixtures. *Metropolitan League 1 and Metropolitan League 7 South-East only: teams that host Week 1 FFV Competition Fixture at their home venue during Week 1 of the 2014 Finals Series will be responsible for payment of 100% of Match Official Fees. Both clubs are to provide at least one ground marshal each for a fixture. 2
Teams listed second in a fixture are responsible for providing a clash strip alternative in the event of a clash. Teams listed first in a fixture are responsible for calling through match results to the FFV Competitions Weekend Hotline immediately after the conclusion of a match. If your team does not want to participate in the FFV 2014 Final Series please advise FFV Competitions by Monday 8 th of September via competitions@footballfedvic.com.au. FFV at its discretion will then determine if a replacement is needed and who that replacement may be. 3
