North Bristol Sportsman s Club 11 Monthly Drawing Volunteers are the key to every event and activity that takes place at the club. Their contributions come in all forms, from maintenance and repairs to cooking and serving as RSOs. To recognize the importance of volunteer time, the club does a drawing at each monthly meeting. The names of two or more volunteers, who s put in at least 4 hours of time in the previous month, will be randomly drawn to win prizes. This is just a small way of saying thanks for everything you do. The Board Members News Looking for help? North Bristol Sportsman s Club 12 R3 R a n d o m R a n g e R a n t s It s summer! Highs in the 80 s, low s in the 50 s. Sounds like my trap scores. With good weather and sunshine, the shooters are out at the club. Increasing numbers of rifle and pistol shooters, and the Clay Target ranges are busy. Lot s of events scheduled too. This is the time for members to spend some time at the club doing what they like to do. Being around to help with events, and mentoring new shooters. Keeping an eye on non members for safety and to give them pointers so they don t develop the same bad habits we spend most of our time trying to fix for ourselves. There is a 100 bird event you can participate in June 17th, July 1st is our ATA Buckle shoot. Great event, it is a favorite of local shooters, and Carl and Gelane do a wonderful job promoting the club and taking care of the shooters. They can use all the help they can get, so plan to show up and give a hand that day. The High School Team is scheduled to shoot at the State Event in Rome, June 24th, finishing up the season. Give them encouragement, support and help when you can. The 5-stand is open, and we want anyone interested in shooting it to get out to learn how to push the buttons to make it work. It is automated, and works with the EZ Pull Target manager, similar to trap, so you can grab a few shooters and shoot whenever the club is open. We set it up, so you don t have to wait for an attendant to throw birds for you. So find out how to make it go, and shoot as much as you can. It s a great way to learn how to wing shoot, and be a better bird hunter. FUN too. We plan to have someone running it on Thursdays from 5 to 8ish, and the 2nd Sunday and 3rd Saturday of the Month for the summer. With enough interest, we hope to be able to shoot from a trailer in the winter months. To block the wind and maybe even have a little heat inside. Archery is planning a work day to clean up and spread bark mulch on the trail. The organizers are hoping to get the 3D targets in place and have a late summer league to get ready for hunting. We are planning to get new practice target butts soon, and those should be able to work with Cross bows too, at the longer targets for sure. See you at the club, Thursdays, Saturday and Sundays. Shoot straight and be Safe. See you at the Club. Have Fun. Keep Smiling.
