We all want to watch our children. We all want the day to run smoothly. We all want to know the results. We all want to get home before it gets dark. THE SOLUTION Everything is set up the day before. All jobs are filled and ready to commence at allocated times. All competitors are ready to ride at allocated times. Rails are picked when they fall. Dressage arenas are packed up when dressage finishes. Jumps are packed away when rings finish.

STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS: The State Championships will be held at Albury Wodonga Equestrian Centre (Saturday 25 th & Sunday 26 th February 2012). The State is for Dressage Combinations graded 1, 2 & 3 and Show Jumping Combinations graded PA, PB & PC. Grade 1 Dressage is an Individual Competition. Grades 2 & 3 are for teams of three riders. PA Show Jumping is an Individual Competition. PB & PC are for teams of four riders. Riders who have been in pony club for more than two years and are aged over 13 years (have passed their 14 th birthday) must have attained their C Certificate in order to compete at the state championships in accordance with criteria for state events in the PCAV Handbook of By-laws 33.11.a For State Championships all riders will wear Midland Zone Uniform and either hire a Black or White Midland Zone Saddle Blanket or provide their own Black or White Saddle Blanket with the Midland Zone Logo attached. (Midland Zone Riders who Qualifying for the State will be presented with a Zone Logo for their saddle blanket) Riders wishing to compete at the State Championships must indicate so on the day of the Zone Qualifier. Midland Zone pays half the State Championship entry fee.

CONDITIONS: Riders MUST wear Full Pony Club uniform. The championships comprise two disciplines, Dressage and Showjumping, which are conducted on the same day. Therefore, a combination may compete in one discipline but not both. Midland Zone chooses to allow riders to compete in both sections at the qualifiers, but if successful in both competitions, they must choose either dressage or showjumping. For the State Championships - zone teams must have a minimum of 3 individual riders per team; where there are vacancies competitors with multiple mounts will be considered. Riders must choose on the day of the qualifiers if they wish to represent the Midland Zone at the State Championships. Riders competing in Grades 4 & 5 Dressage and Grades PD, PE & PF Show Jumping are able to compete in both Dressage and Show Jumping. (Zone Rule) Please Note: - Midland Zone reserves the right not to send a combination to the State Championships if the standard is not considered sufficient for that grade. Riders wishing to enter more than one mount may do so. The Organising Committee reserves the right to alter the program if deemed necessary. All competing clubs MUST provide helpers. One helper per 3 riders. ALL RULES: As per current PCAV rules. RIBBONS: Ribbons awarded to sixth place for each event. Sashes will be presented to Individuals in each team chosen to represent the Midland Zone at the State Championships. Riders representing the Midland Zone in either Showjumping or Dressage at the State Championships will be presented with a Midland Zone Saddle Blanket Badge to be sewn on to the riders own Black or White Saddle blanket GEAR CHECK: All competitors must present themselves for a Gear Check at least 15 minutes prior to each event. Midland Zone of PCAV Inc Show Jumping Competitions The competition will be conducted in accordance with rules governing PCAV Show Jumping competitions. Grades: Grade PA 1, 2 and 3 State Championship Individual Grade PB 1, 2 and 3 State Championship for Teams of Four Grade PC 1, 2 and 3 State Championship for Teams of Four Grade PD 1 and 3 Non-Championship Grade PE 1 and 3 Non-Championship Grade PF 1 and 3 Non-Championship

FORMAT: All riders compete as individuals in Zone Show Jumping Competition. Grades PA, PB and PC Riders may compete in any single event. However to qualify for the State Championships, each combination must compete in all events. Grades PD, PE & PF Riders may compete in one or both events. SCORING: Grades PA, PB and PC Pony Club Scoring SHOW JUMPING COMPETITION EVENTS Class One: Table A (Article 238 2.2) with a jump off Class Two One Round Stakes (Jan 2011 Article 238 2.1) Class Three Competition over Two rounds, first round not against the clock (Articles 273 2.1, 3.3, 4.3) Special Conditions for Scoring Class 1 Table A (Article 238.2.2) with a jump off 2. Competitions against the clock 2.2. But in the event of equality of Penalties for the first place, there will be one (1) jump off against the clock. Other Athletes are placed according to their Penalties and time in the first round. Class 2: One Round Stakes (Jan 2011 Article 238.2.1) No jump off 2. Competitions against the clock 2.1. Riders with equality of penalties for any place are placed in accordance with the time taken to complete the round. No Jump off Class 3 - Competition over Two Rounds (Articles 273.2.1, 3.3) 2 nd round against the clock 1. This competition comprises, with the same speed, two courses, identical or different, either in track or in number of obstacles or in the dimensions of the obstacles. Each rider must participate with the same horse. Riders, who have been eliminated or who have retired during the first round, may not take part in the second round and may not be placed. 2. All the riders have to take part in the first round. The following go forward to the second round according to the conditions of the schedule: 2.1 All riders First round Second round Jump-off Table A Table A Starting order Starting order 3.3 Not against the clock Against the clock Reverse order of penalties and possibly time in the 1st round No jump-off 4. Placing 4.3 Riders will be placed according to aggregate penalties over both rounds and the time incurred in the second round.

MIDLAND ZONE OF PCAV INC DRESSAGE COMPETITIONS The Dressage competition will be conducted in accordance with rules governing PCAV Dressage as set down in the 2006 PCAV Dressage Book. Grades 4 and 5 Each combination will compete in one dressage test only. SCORING: Grades 1, 2 & 3 - The combination with the highest aggregate score over the two tests. Grades 4 & 5: The combination with the highest score for the test.
