July is here already and it comes with some birthdays. Happy Birthday America and Suffolk Lodge 141; Our lodge will turn (67) years old on July 15 th and in celebration of this event we have reduced new member dues to $40.00 for the month of July. Hopefully, this will be an effective tool for signing some new members. We also plan to have a discount night for all beverages sold in the Social Quarters ($.50 off) on July 20-22. We have several events to plan around this month and dates will be posted and announced at the lodge. I would like to thank all who participated in and helped make last month s WOTM and Moose Legion events a success. Working together we can make it happen!! Happy July 4 th to all and as always God Bless Mooseheart and Moosehaven. Kevin Myrick, Governor Congratulations to Amy Vick for winning the raffle basket Summertime Fun at the Saturday night dance on May 26 th. July is Activities/Sports Month and Susan Maybery, Committee Chairman is planning an ice cream social on July 15 th. (See article) Her jitney dinner on July 20 th will be spaghetti and fried chicken. Please come out and support her and the WOTM at these events. Still hoping our attendance at the Chapter meetings will increase. I sincerely want all of our co-workers to participate in our meetings and other events. Please come out to see what your Chapter is doing. Sympathy is extended in the passing of Kara Vivienne Conrad on May 29, 2018; who joined the Women of the Moose on May 4, 1993. Kara was seen in the social quarters visiting with friends on several occasions and would definitely be there at the annual Super Bowl parties. She was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan. Kara leaves behind her husband, Dennis R. Conrad who is a member of the LOOM. She will be missed by the all who knew her. May she Rest in Peace? Membership has been slow in growth. Our lodge originated on July 15, 1951 and will be celebrating our 67 th anniversary on July 21 st. We know a lot of members have never sponsored a candidate so let s see if we can sign (67) new candidates during the month of July at the special price for the month of $40.00. (This offer only applies to the Men of the Moose). That would be one new member for each year of the Lodge s existence. Wouldn t that be great!! Let s all work together and help our lodge grow. The sign on the front door states NO FOOD OR DRINK ALLOWED IN LODGE UNLESS PURCHASED HERE. A check of tables show that some members are bringing beverages and food items into the lodge; this practice is NOT allowed. Please abide by this regulation! It has also been noticed that some alcoholic beverages are being sneaked in: THIS IS A VIOLATION OF ABC REGULATIONS!! Please refrain from doing this if you are involved and abide by the rules established by your House Committee.
