MEETING HIGHLIGHTS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 18 Legislative/Regulatory Roundtable Breakfast Over breakfast, speakers will discuss issues affecting agriculture and the irrigation industry. Featured speakers include Sandra Schubert, CDFA Undersecretary Joe Karkoski, Program Manager, Irrigated Lands Regulatory Program, Central Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board Dennis Albiani, Legislative Advocate John Farner, Irrigation Association Committee Meetings Be involved in activities by attending one or more meetings of committees: Programs Committee, Membership Committee, Legislative Committee, Education Committee and Internship/Scholarship Committee. Tour: Feather River Fish Hatchery, Oroville Dam and the Lake Oroville Visitor Center Transportation and lunch is included; SPACE IS LIMITED TO 55 PARTICIPANTS SO SIGN UP EARLY. Led by Jana Dawson Frazier (Department of Water Resources), the tour will begin at the Feather River Fish Hatchery where each fall thousands of salmon and steelhead make an incredible trek from the Pacific Ocean up the Delta and several rivers to Oroville s hatchery. Next stop is the Oroville Dam where Frazier will explain the external structures of the dam and their purpose. The Oroville Dam is the tallest dam in the U.S., besting Hoover Dam by more than 40 feet. The tour concludes with a stop at the Lake Oroville Visitor s Center, featuring a Birth of the Oroville Dam DVD, museum, 40 foot observation tower and the Bidwell Trading Post.
