CLUB NEWS 4-H ers Green 365 days of the year! Lucky Clover Lucky Clovers joined forces to tackle the jungle outside of the Velma Houts building on May 18th. They pulled lots of weeds, planted new flowers, and put down new mulch. This area is seen by many when they pull into Rock Port as well as lot s of people who come to the Atchison County Fair. The University of Missouri Extension office of Atchison County thanks you for all your hard work! It looks great out there! Wolverines To the left you see Goldie Barnes demonstrating on Grace Oswald s bottle calf the proper way to comb the hair of the calf. Before this they were part of their clubs business meeting that everyone told what they would be taking to Achievement Day. Sam O Riley is asking that all club members please turn their project tags in ahead of time to ensure a smooth night and enough volunteers to conference judge. On another occasion the cake decorating project group in Wolverine s gathered to make cakes from scratch and learn how to ice them as well. Thanks to Tiff Gaines for helping us learn new tips for decorating cakes! Farmer City Farmer City has been busy at the rodeo this year as well as their usual June meeting! They were in the rodeo parade and cleaned up after the event as well. The Monday before the rodeo they got together for their business meeting and enjoyed a fun game. Josie King and her grandma Ponya went out and enjoyed the weather while beautifying Westboro. They planted flowers on Main Street for all to see and enjoy! This is the perfect time of year for you to get out and help others. You could make a bird house for an elderly neighbor, mow a yard for someone, plant flowers, pull weeds, take someone s dog for a walk, etc.. There are so many things that we can do to help others and get some exercise as well. I challenge you to go out and help someone and send me pictures of you good deed to give others ideas of how they can help others as well.
