Manager s Corner As I write this article, I look out my office window at the beautiful sunny day and it lets me know that spring is right around the corner! It s a little chilly, but golfers are out enjoying the course and folks are downstairs visiting with one another, some relaxing by the fire and others in the dining area, laughing and enjoying a bite to eat. State of the Club As you know, March is a very important month for our Club. The Annual Meeting of Stockholders will take place Sunday, March 19 th at 3PM. This gathering is meaningful as the Board will discuss the state of the Club and a financial report will be distributed. There will be a presentation on the year past and what we ve done to make the Club more appealing to current and potential members. Most critical, there will be an election, selecting three new Board members. The Club has sent all Stockholders a proxy letter with the names and bios of the members running for office. It is important to return the ballot even if you anticipate attending the meeting, because a quorum is needed and we can be sure it is attained if the proxies are on hand. With that said I think it is important you attend the meeting so you have an opportunity to ask questions and get a full understanding of the operation of your Club. Board and Committees Committees started meeting in February, making plans for the upcoming season. Feel free to attend any meeting. I believe member support on committees make for better events and enjoyment of the Club by all members. Golf The tournament schedule is coming together and filling up fast, with Opening Day scheduled for April 1 st. The weather has been cooperative for play and Mark says we ve had more this February than the past three Februarys combined. Restaurant It s very nice to see the restaurant so busy. We appreciate every comment card submitted and continue to post them on the bulletin board for your enjoyment. Many suggestions have already been implemented and constructive feedback is reviewed with the entire staff for training purposes to improve our customer service. The Valentine s Day dinner was enjoyed by all, with some in attendance commenting that it was the best meal they ve had here at the club. Members personally praised Chef Paul on his delicious entrees and scrumptious desserts! Jennifer has done a wonderful job sending out the daily emails. So, keep checking your inbox, place your reservations and we hope to see you soon for lunch, dinner or some of the events. Golf Course Jimmy and his crew have applied an herbicide on the fairways and greens to suppress Poa annua seedheads. We ve made every effort to open the course this winter, weather permitting, and appreciate the fact that you all are keeping carts on the paths. Closing Please keep the comment cards coming, we appreciate your feedback! I d love some fresh ideas for member events, so if you have something you ve been thinking of, don t hesitate to share it with me. Again, thank you for your continued support and we ll see you at the Club soon! Judy West General Manager

Membership Interests From the Desk of Susan Cruz Looks like spring has come early which gives you more time to play golf! Lucky you! Bring out some new friends, neighbors or associates and introduce them to all we have to offer. You know we always have something going on and your positive enthusiasm is our best means of advertisement. Prime Rib night is scheduled for March 3 rd and our St. Patrick s Day feast is scheduled for March 17 th. Paul has put a twist on some authentic Irish dishes so be sure to check it out. We have lots more planned so be sure to read your daily email. Your positive comments and conversations in the community is getting back to us. We appreciate your support and commitment to your Club. Thank you! Now Available! Susan Cruz Director of Membership and Marketing We would like to welcome back: Jerry Thornhill Attention Members! Country Club of Culpeper Annual Stockholders Meeting Sunday, March 19 th 3 p.m. In the Clubhouse Golf News Golf lessons are available to members and nonmembers. Please contact Mark Wolfla, Director of Golf, for more information or to schedule lessons. Please call the Golf Shop at 825-1748 to reserve your tee times. Reserving a tee time is the best way to be able to play at the time you want. Our Bermuda grass in the fairways is now dormant. At this time, we want to have as little cart traffic on the fairways as possible so we don t harm the Bermuda. Carts should be kept in the rough then cross over at a 90 degree angle to get to your ball. This process will make our fairways much stronger next spring. Let s take care of our course by following the fairway rules and if you see someone in the wrong place, kindly remind them of where they should be, or call the Golf Shop. Come join us!

Chef s Corner Hello all, The weather has been very un-winter like but spring is right around the corner. I'm working on the spring/summer menu. I'm looking forward to making the pool a fun and inviting place to be this summer with more poolside food and activities. I've also sourced plates and salad bowls that are pool safe and give the look of dining outdoors instead of looking like takeout. This upgrade actually saves the club money vs. continually purchasing disposable items which also reduces trash. Here is a preview of one of the summer items. Enjoy! Chef Paul From the Chef s Chopping Block Honey Sriracha Chicken Sandwiches 4 T. sriracha sauce 1 c. honey (local) 16 oz. chicken tenders, grilled or fried 8 slices Swiss cheese lettuce, as needed tomato and onion, optional cornbread/biscuits or flour tortillas your choice Mix together honey and sriracha sauce.
