AFA Rules - Teams must check in one hour prior to their first game. - All teams must show their current roster, insurance, and must carry birth certificates - Third base team dugout team listed first. - Higher seed will decide home or visitor in Bracket play. - Seeds with same ranking will use a coin toss to determine home team preference. - All Elimination/Bracket games are Single Elimination. - All Flight/Pool games are 1 hour and 30 minutes, no new inning. - Games may end in a tie during flight/pool play. - All Elimination/Bracket games are 1 hour and 30 minutes, no new inning and must have a winner. - Teams need to be prepared to play up to 20 minutes prior to scheduled start time. - Games may be moved to different fields in order to insure games stay on schedule. - You may use a player who has not entered the game or the last out, as a curtesy runner for your pitcher and catcher all tourney long. - Teams may use DP/Flex and 2 Extra hitters (EH) for a total of 11 hitters max/12 players. - In the event the game goes to international tiebreaker the player who batted last in the previous inning will be placed on second base. - Mercy rules: 12 runs after 4 innings, 10 runs after 5 innings, 8 runs after 6 innings. - Umpires: All games will have 2 umpires. - Softballs used will be the afa Spirit Softball.47 core. - Rain out or weather related cancellation policy: In the event of a rain out or weather related cancelled or shortened tournament, a pro-rated credit towards future tournaments will be given. The number of games started/played will be prorated against the guaranteed number of games for the tournament. afa APP Directions and Details The afa was designed for coaches, players, and fans. The app is updated within minutes of games ending. All pool play results and bracket placements will be completed by the app. The app is also set up to calculate all tie breakers. Please have everyone on your team or that is following your team, download the afa app from the APP Store. Once you have downloaded the app and open it, click on the Black Friday Gobble Gobble tournament. Next tap on Divisions on the bottom of the screen, select your age division, you will see the schedule and results of all games played. It will also tell you what time and on what field you will be playing on at any given time. You can also click on the 3 dots on the bottom right corner of the screen listed as More. Click on Documents and you will see the tournament Coaches Packet. That has all the information and rules for our tournament today. After clicking on Documents you will also be able to see all of our upcoming tournament flyers. A special feature about the afa app, is the Alerts feature. You can turn this on by clicking on Teams along the bottom of the screen. Select your team, click on Follow, put in your cell phone number. Everything that happens to your selected team will be sent to your cell phone via text, usually within a minute of when it comes out. Scores, upcoming games and bracket results. You can Follow as many teams as you would like.
