Why Summer Swimming?
Hidden Valley Swim Team Mission Statement Our goal is to create a summer program that will keep kids engaged and active throughout the entire summer Swim Team is a great activity that promotes: Individual SelfEsteem Team Work Water Safety Improving Fitness Hidden Valley is committed to creating a positive summer tradition that will continue for years, and give kids a reason to look forward to summer at Hidden Valley Country Club!
Swim Team Fees Fees will be $295 for the summer Fees will be charged onto your membership account OneTime Trial Attend one practice, if you or your child is not happy we will refund the amount Fees go towards Swim Meets TShirt Cap Team Suit Banquet Swim Coaches

Summer Swim League Information Our Swim team will be participating in the Utah Country Club Swim and Dive league 2016 is the 57th year of the league 7 Teams total: Salt Lake Country Club, Willowcreek Country Club, Cottonwood Country Club, Pepperwood Community pool, Salt Lake Swim and Tennis Club, Northcrest Community Pool, and Hidden Valley Country Club In season Dual Meets 6 total; 4 Away meets, 2 Home meets Championship Meet; 2 days, Morning and Evening Session each day More information on www.ccswim.com
Summer Swim League Events These are the list of events that are standard for a Country Club Swim Meet Note the odd events (#19, 20,33,34,35,36,57,58)
League Rules Utah Country Club Swim and Dive league uses USA Swimming rules in regards to the races and different strokes Teams are allowed unlimited entries in the freestyle and backstroke events, allowed only 3 entries in the Butterfly, Breaststroke, and IM events. Championship Entries are limited to 3 individuals per event Swimmers are allowed up to 5 separate race entries (3 individual, 2 Relays) Swimmers must compete in at least 3 meets to qualify for the Championship meet

What to expect from Practices Swim Training can be intense Somedays we might swim 4000 yards, over 2 miles! (Older Kids) Workouts will be tailored to different age groups, with more instructional work for younger kids, and more conditioning for older kids Our goal is to make your kids happy, hungry, and sleepy after workouts! Instructional Work Technical work for the 4 competitive strokes Dive Starts Turns Supplemental Strength Work* Dryland Training to reduce injury and increase strength
Practice Attendance Attendance will not be taken at practices If you have summer vacations, please enjoy them! There will be no penalty for missing practices We recommend that you attend every possible practice Strongly recommend attending practices at the beginning of the season! There are a lot of technical aspects of swimming, and if you miss certain practices, you might miss an important lesson Swimming is a sport where you get out, what you put in This includes attendance, willingness to learn, and effort during practices and meets We are committed to promoting a learning environment

What to Expect from Meets Swim Meets are the reason for all the tough practices Team Building Allow kids to see improvement Practice Racing before the Championship Expect Swim Meets to run for 3 hours Go through every event listed on the event sheet Boys and Girls events are separated No diving events Parent Volunteers Every Parent is expected to volunteer in at least 1 Home meet or the Championship meet Home meets need timer volunteers, data collection, handing out ribbons at least 17 volunteers per home meet Every club is required to provide volunteers for Championship Meet Job description will come during the season
Parent Involvement Every Parent is expected to volunteer in at least 1 Home meet or the Championship meet Volunteer positions 12 Timers 2 Working the Computer 1 Running Results to Computer 1 Announcer 1 Handing out Awards League Representative At least 1 parent volunteer to attend League Meetings, and represent Hidden Valley

To Qualify for the Championship Meet Swimmers need to swim in at least 3 regular season meets to qualify to swim at the Championship Clubs are limited to 3 swimmers in each event Total of 23 Spots available for each age and gender group (230 spots total) 15 Individual spots 8 Relay spots Unlimited Number of entries for 6 & unders Backstroke and Freestyle
Masters Swimming The swimming pool will be open at 6 AM to 7 AM on weekdays for Masters Workouts start June 6th Masters Workout will be tailored towards Individual s goals Triathlon/Open Water Training Weight Loss Swim Lessons Cost Equipment Swim suit, Goggles, Cap, Paddles, Fins, Snorkel Training 20003000 yards per workout
