By 6:00pm, NO DECK ENTRIES, all relays must be PRE- ENTERED Welcome The El Paso Aqua Posse cordially invites you to our 29 th annual summer invitational to be held at the Ascarate Park Aquatic Center. This meet is open to all 2015 USA Swimming or other FINA registered or appropriately registered swimmers. Sanctions: Held under the sanction of USA Swimming, Inc., Meet Sanction Number BD15-07. Time Trial Sanction Number BD15-08 Location: Ascarate Park Aquatic Center 6900 Delta Dr., El Paso, TX 79905. Phone # 915-772-3941 The meet will be conducted in one outdoor 50 meter course, using seven competition lanes and one warm up/down lane, utilizing Colorado Timing and Hy-Tek Meet Manager software. Non-turbulent lane lines, sloped starting blocks and backstroke flags are in place. The minimum water depth, measured in accordance with Article 103.2.3, is 12 feet, 0 inches at the start end and 4 feet, 0 inches at the turn end. The competition course has not been certified in accordance with 104.2.2c(4) Separate dressing rooms, showers, and lavatories for men and women are available. As guests, all must adhere to El Paso County Parks rules and regulations which include: children must be supervised at all times, and no chewing gum or glass containers allowed on the pool deck. Use of audio or visual recording devices, including a cell phone, is not permitted in changing areas, rest rooms, or locker rooms. El Paso County Parks will be collecting $2 per car as you enter the park. There is no in/out a new fee is charged each time you go through the gate. EPAP has NO CONTROL over this policy.
Directions: Directions to the pool from I-10: From I-10 East take Trowbridge exit. Turn right on Trowbridge, turn right on Delta. Ascarate Park entrance will be on the left. From I-10 West take Geronimo exit. Turn left on Geronimo. Turn left on Trowbridge. Turn right on Delta. Ascarate Park entrance will be on the left. Rules: Unless otherwise noted herein, this meet shall be conducted in accordance with the 2015 USA Swimming Rules and Regulation. The USA whistle start and no recall procedure will be used throughout the meet. Coaches and officials will be required to display their 2015 registration cards. Changing into or out of swimsuits other than in locker rooms or other designated areas is prohibited. Any swimmer entered in the meet must be certified by a USA Swimming member-coach as being proficient in performing a racing start or must start from within the water. When unaccompanied by a member-coach, it is the responsibility of the swimmer or the swimmer s legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement. All participants, athletes and non-athletes, must adhere to the USA Swimming Code of Conduct as described in Article 304 of the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations. Meet Eligibility/Proof of Registration: This meet is open to all currently registered USA Swimming and FINA registered members. The attached membership certificate affidavit must be submitted with each team s entries. No swimmer will be permitted to compete unless the swimmer is a member as provided in Article 302. No on deck registration. The swimmer s age as of July 17, 2015 will be used to determine the age group for competition. A B time is required for any 200 meter event. A BB time is required for any event 400 meters or longer. Top 14 entries will be accepted for the 1500 free, girls and boys for a total of 2 heats for each event. Entrants from 15 th on will be notified and will not be charged entry fee. Qualifying times may be achieved in either short course (25 yards) or long course (50 meters). Meet Format: All events will be timed finals, seeded only by time, age, and gender. Age groups will be combined for competition and then separated for results. Depending on the number of swimmers, over-under starts may be used throughout the meet (except backstroke events). Events 400m and longer will be swum fastest to slowest alternating girls and boys heats. Swimmers in the 1500 must provide their own timers and counters. The meet director reserves the right to put a cap on total entries, in order to comply with USA swimming session time requirements. Swimmers will be entered in order of entries received. Time trials will be held on Saturday and Sunday immediately following the morning session. Only 1 event per athlete per day. The 1500/800 free will only be offered on one day. Time trial entries are due to clerk of course by 10:30 am on the day of the swim. If an athlete is not already in the meet he/she will be charged the per athlete fees of $6 along with the time trial entry.

All teams entered in this meet should submit their entries using Hy-Tek Team Manager software. All teams or individuals that choose not to use Hy-Tek and send entries on paper will be assessed a $25.00 processing fee per swimmer. Please email a Meet Entry Report from Team Manager in a PDF format with your entries. Relays must be pre-entered. Relays scratched on deck because of a missing or ill swimmer will not be charged. Warm-Up: Border mandatory warm up procedures will be enforced. A USA-Swimming/FINA registered coach for each swim team must be present to conduct their team s warm up sessions. Warm up times and lane assignments will be posted at the pool. Any and all unattached or unattended swimmers should arrange for a certified coach to observe them during warm up, competition, and warm down. Any unattached or unattended swimmers who have not made previous arrangements with a coach to observe them shall contact the Meet Referee or the Meet Director for assistance in arranging appropriate observation. All coaches and officials will serve as safety marshals during warm ups and will be responsible for monitoring and enforcing safety rules and regulations in assigned warm up lanes. Safety marshals will also be present. Coaches must actively supervise their swimmers throughout the warm up session. Appointed safety marshals are members of USA Swimming and have the authority to remove from the deck, for the remainder of the warm up session, any swimmer or coach who is in violation of safety guidelines or warm up procedures. The Meet Referee may exercise additional adjudication authority as necessary. Coaches shall maintain as much contact with their swimmers, both verbal and visual, as possible during the warm up period. The first twenty (20) minutes of each session shall be designated as a GENERAL WARM UP SESSION. There shall be FEET FIRST ENTRIES ONLY AND AT ALL TIMES during the general warm up session. Lanes may be used for pace, circle, or return swim only. Swimmers shall not mount the starting blocks at any time. The pace shall be carefully controlled by the coaches. Loitering and visiting in the lanes is not allowed. During the last TEN (10) minutes of each warm up session sprint lanes shall be open as follows: the lane you have been assigned for warm-up will be your sprint & return lane. Before using sprint lanes, they must be cleared of all swimmers. RACING STARTS ONLY will be allowed at the start end. Coaches shall stand near the start end of the pool when starting swimmers on sprint and pace work. Swimmers shall not step onto the starting blocks when a backstroker is waiting to start. A warm up and cool down lane will be provided by the host team. It will operate under the same rules and regulations as general warm up lanes, with the exception that a maximum of 15 swimmers will be allowed in the warm-up/down lane at any one time. Smoking or other use of tobacco products is prohibited by USA Swimming rules on the pool deck, in the locker room, in spectator seating or standing areas, and in all areas used by swimmers during the meet or during the warm up periods in connection with the meet. Glass containers are strictly prohibited in the pool area. The use or consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited by USA Swimming rules on the pool deck, in the locker room, in spectator seating or standing areas, and in all areas used by swimmers, during the meet or during the warm up periods in connection with the meet.
