Sprocket Sprocket 2. TENSIONING THE CHAIN Fitting Pruner Hed CAUTION: THE CHAIN HAS SHARP EDGES. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE WEAR WORK GLOVES. 1. Align the pruner hed nd the motor hed so the rrows on oth coincide. 2. () Press the pruner hed ginst the motor hed. This will cuse the lock utton to e pushed to the right. () Turn the pruner hed clockwise. The pruner hed will lock onto the motor hed nd is then secured in plce. 1. Loosen the chin cover lock. Do not remove the side cover. Lock Button CAUTION: IF YOU TRY TO ROTATE THE CHAIN TENSIONING ADJUSTMENT DIAL WHILST THE CHAIN COVER LOCK IS TIGHT, IT WILL RESULT IN THE CHAIN NOT LOOSENING AND POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE MECHANISM. Sprocket 2. Adjust the chin tension with the chin tensioning djustment dil. Turning the dil CLOCKWISE increses the chin tension, turning it COUNTER-CLOCKWISE decreses the chin tension. Note: T he Lock Button will CLICK ck to the left (originl position) when the pruner hed is correctly secured in plce. Fitting Guide Br & Chin 1. Loosen the chin cover lock nd remove the side cover. Sprocket CAUTION: THE CHAIN HAS SHARP EDGES. FOR YOUR OWN SAFETY, PLEASE WEAR WORK GLOVES. 2. Plce the chin in the groove of the guide r s shown. Refer to the imge printed on the guide r tht indictes the direction tht the chin should fce. IMPORTANT: IF THE CHAIN IS INSTALLED BACKWARDS (CHAIN CUTTERS ARE FACING IN THE OPPOSITE Sprocket DIRECTION OF ROTATION) THE POLE PRUNER WILL VIBRATE EXCESSIVELY AND NOT CUT. 3. Plce onto the mount, ensuring tht the chin sits round the chin sprocket. Sprocket 4 Re-mount nd finger-tighten the side cover with the chin cover lock. Note: O nly tighten the chin cover locking kno securely once the chin tension hs een djusted (see: Tensioning the chin.) For the correct chin tension, firmly pull up on the chin t the middle of the top of the exposed guide r. When the chin is pulled up to its highest point, the ottom tip of the links should only just sty in the trck [middle of the guide r] 3-4mm gp is the idel tension 3. After the chin hs een ccurtely tensioned, lock the guide r in plce with the chin cover locking kno. Note: P roper tension of the chin is extremely importnt nd must e checked efore strting, s well s during ny cutting opertion. Tking the time to mke djustments to the chin will result in improved cutting performnce nd prolonged chin life.

3. OIL 4. PREPARATION Adjusting the telescope length IMPORTANT: ONLY USE OIL THAT IS EXPRESSLY LABELLED CHAIN BAR OIL. 1. Remove the chin r oil cp. 1. To unlock the telescopic tue lock, twist it in clockwise direction while pointing the chin wy from the user. 2. Fill the tnk with chin r oil. The cpcity of the chin oil tnk is 125ml. Do not over fill. Note: T he locking nd unlocking directions re indicted on the locking collr. mx 2. Pull out the telescopic tues to suit the required working height. 3. Refit cp nd clen ny oil spillge. 4. Alwys fill oil tnk when the oil level is elow the imum mrk on the oil level window. mx mx mx WARNING!: NEVER START WORK UNLESS THE CHAIN AND BAR ARE LUBRICATED 3. To lock in the desired position, twist the telescopic tue lock in counterclockwise direction. Adjusting the Rer Hndle 1. Press the two pivoting hndle releses, one ech side nd djust the ngle of the hndle up or down to ny of 4 positions. 4. To check the luricting system, switch on the pole pruner nd hold it with the guide r nd chin ove some light coloured pper such s newspper. A stedily incresing stin cused y oil spry shows the luricting system is working. Adjusting the Auxiliry Hndle 1. () Open the hndle lever nd set the required () tilt of the uxiliry hndle, close to lock into position. 2. () Open the mounting rcket lever nd () slide the uxiliry hndle into therequired position, close to lock into position. Note: C hin r oil my lek if the tool is left for long periods. This is norml. If the tool is to e left unused for n extended time, drin the oil from the tool. Refill efore use.

5. INSERTING & REMOVING THE BATTERY Adjusting the Pruner Hed Pivoting the Pruner Hed 1. Press the two pivoting hed releses, one ech side nd djust the ngle of the pruner hed up or down to ny of 7 positions. Instlling Bttery into the Pole Pruner 1. Align the ris of the ttery with the recess elow the hndle Adjusting the Pruner Hed 90º 1. Pull the lock utton to the right then rotte the pruner hed 90º clockwise Note: Keep the pruner hed pressed ginst the motor hed when rotting. 2. The pruner hed will lock onto the motor hed nd is then secured in plce. Lock Button Lock Button 2. Slide the ttery in so tht it clicks into plce. Removing Bttery from the Pole Pruner 1. Press nd hold the ttery relese t to relese the ttery. Note: The Lock Button will CLICK ck to the left (originl position) when the pruner hed is correctly secured in plce. 2. Slide the ttery out. Attching the Shoulder Strp 1. Fsten to the shoulder strp holder on the tue. 2. Wer the shoulder strp so tht it lies over the left shoulder. PXCPPS-018

OPERATION Lig 6. SWITCHING ON/OFF L ig is the process of removing 1 the rnches from fllen tree. Check the direction in which rnch will end efore cutting it. Alwys cut on the opposite side to the 2 ending direction so tht the guide r is not pinched in the cut. For lrge lims tht cnnot e removed in one cut, mke n initil cut from the ent side nd finish y swing from the opposite direction. Do not remove lims tht re supporting the fllen tree on the ground until the tree hs een cut into lengths. Switching On 1. Hold the pruner firmly with oth hnds. Pruning 2. Slide the switch lock () to the front with your thum nd hold, then squeeze the trigger switch (). 1 3. The chin will now e running redy to mke cut. Relese the switch lock (). 2 P runing is the removl of lim or rnch from stnding tree. Swing Techniques Off Switching 3. Relese the trigger switch. The chin nd motor will quickly stop. 60 W hen removing rnches, hold the pruner t n ngle rnging from mximum 60 to horizontl in order to void eing struck y flling rnch. A t the end of the cut, the weight of the pruner suddenly increses for the user, ecuse it is no longer supported on the rnch. There is the risk of losing control of the pruner. S w off the lower rnches on the tree first. By doing so, it is esier for the cut rnches to fll to the ground. O nly pull the pruner out of the cut with the chin running. By doing so, you cn prevent it from getting jmmed. APPLICATIONS WARNING!:IF THE CHAIN COMES IN CONTACT WITH A HARD OBJECT, VISUALLY INSPECT THE CHAIN & BAR FOR DAMAGE. IF THE CHAIN OR BAR IS DAMAGED, DO NOT CONTINUE TO OPERATE THE POLE PRUNER. WARNING!: NEVER USE THE POLE PRUNER WHEN STANDING ON A LADDER OR UNEVEN GROUND. DO NOT OVERREACH. ALWAYS USE BOTH HANDS TO HOLD THE POLE PRUNER. CAUTION: ALWAYS USE THE BUCKING SPIKES WHEN PERFORMING CUTS WITH THE POLE PRUNER TO AVOID KICKBACK (REFER TO OPERATION SECTION OF MANUAL). CAUTION: ENSURE APPROPRIATE CARE IS TAKEN WHEN CUTTING ABOVE SHOULDER HEIGHT. D o not sw with the tip of the guide r. This could led to kick ck nd possile injury.

MAINTENANCE WARNING: BEFORE CLEANING YOUR POLE PRUNER OR CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT THE MOTOR IS OFF AND THE BATTERY REMOVED TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING. CAUTION: ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING THE CHAIN AS IT IS VERY SHARP AND CAN CUT YOU WHEN IT IS NOT MOVING. Mintining the guide r 1. Remove ny swdust from the guide r, including the groove. Check for oil lekge nd loose fstenings, especilly those securing the hndles nd the guide r. 4. Reverse the guide r every 8 working hours to ensure uniform wer. Check the guide rils frequently nd if necessry remove urrs nd squre up the rils using flt file. TROUBLESHOOTING Bttery protection system The tool is equipped with the ttery protection system, which helps to ensure long service life. The output power utomticlly cuts off during opertion when the tool nd/or ttery re plced under the following situtions: When the tool is overloded: If this occurs, relese the trigger switch nd remove cuses of overlod, then pull the switch trigger gin to restrt. When the reing ttery cpcity ecomes low: Rechrge the ttery pck. Note: The ttery protection system does not in ny wy dmge the tool. Note: The indicted cpcity my e lower thn the ctul level during use or immeditely fter using the tool. The ttery hs short run time Ensure the ttery is properly chrged. It will tke 4-5 chrging cycles efore the ttery reches optimum chrge nd run time.
