Sail Peninsula 10th - 12th February 2017 Three days of fantastic sailing in the southern waters of Port Phillip Bay, in the heart of spectacular Mornington Peninsula, at Martha Cove, the Riviera of Port Phillip Bay FREE BERTHING All visiting racing yachts will be provided a free, safe berth in the fabulous Martha Cove Marina, which is protected in all weathers at all times. Safety Beach Sailing Club will provide transport to the Clubhouse for the after-racing festivities on Friday and Saturday nights. ACCOMMODATION Friday Nights Twilight Race will feature a delightful race around the Safety Beach Sailing Club course of fixed marks. It will feature a pursuit start and provides a spectacular summer twilight race with yachts returning through the Martha Cove entrance channel, watched by the residents of Martha Cove. To complete your first days racing, transport will be provided from your marina berth to the Safety Beach Clubhouse on the beach for the festivities of the night. Beginning with drinks on the balcony overlooking the beautiful bay at sunset and followed by dinner and live music in the club dining room. What a beginning to a great weekend. Car parking will be available at the club and the marina. Rules 1.1 The regatta will be governed by the rules as defined in the current version of the World Sailing Racing Rules of Sailing. 1.2 The prescriptions and special regulations of Australian Sailing (AS) Part 1 will apply. 2. Eligibility and entry 1.3 Handicaps AMS,PHS,EHS,IRC 1.4 Open to CAT 5 keelboats and CAT 6 trailerable, sportsboat, Etchells etc (divisions). 3. Fees 2.1 Cost is $125 per entry which also includes -skipper s dinner Saturday night and drink tickets. 2.2 Entries will be available online at: www.sailpeninsular.com.au and close Thursday 9th February at 6 pm. 4. Prizes Great sponsor prizes and cash for placing yachts. Presentation for the Twilight race will be held on Friday night and passage race on Saturday evening (11th February) and Challenge /team race/ Dash for cash Sunday after racing at the SBSC Club House. Insurance Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of 5 million, preferably 10 million per incident or the equivalent. 9. Dinner at the Safety Beach Sailing Club Dinner and live music starting from 1800 hrs is available at SBSC on the evening of Friday ( bookings essential ). 2 Course Gourmet BBQ Buffet and live music starting at 1800 hours is available at SBSC on the evening of Saturday 11th February. Bookings are essential. Dinner Friday and Saturday night, lunches, Saturday and Sunday and Sail Perninsula Merchandise can all be purchased from the TOP YACHT Sail Perninsula website. Bookings close on Thursday 9th February at 6PM 10. Berthing at Martha Cove The charge will be free for the Friday and Saturday night as part of entry. 11. Disclaimer of liability Competitors participate in the regatta entirely at their own risk and are responsible for the seaworthiness of a boat whose entry is accepted and for the sufficiency and adequacy of its equipment. Neither SBSC, their servants nor volunteers shall accept liability or responsibility whatsoever for death or any personal or material injury or damage sustained by a participant before, during or after a race or series of races.
