TOURNAMENT CONDITIONS AND INFORMATION 1. Eligibility: The tournament is open to any amateur golfer, Mid-Amateur (age 30 and above at the start of the tournament), Senior (age 50 and over at the start of the tournament), who is affiliated to Women's Golf South Africa (WGSA) or a governing body recognised by WGSA. Players 50+ years old automatically qualify for both competitions and the Senior Trophy is open only to entrants aged 50 years and older at the start of the tournament. The Nett competitions are open only to KZNLGA affiliated players. 2. Handicap Limits & Format: 2.1 Championship Division (Handicaps 6.5 & Under): Mid-Amateur (age 30 & above) and Senior (age 50 & over) - 36 holes Stroke Play. 2.2 Silver Division (Handicaps 6.6 15.3): Mid-Amateur (age 30 & above) and Senior (age 50 & over) - 36 holes Stroke Play. 2.3 Bronze Division (Handicaps 15.4 29.3): Mid-Amateur (age 30 & above) and Senior (age 50 & over) - 36 holes Individual Stableford. 3. Rules of Golf: The Rules of Golf as adopted by the R & A Rules Limited will apply together with such local rules as approved by the Tournament Committee. 4. Tournament Committee: The Tournament Committee will be appointed by the KZNLGA Executive Committee and their names will be displayed on the Tournament Notice Board at the Host Club. This committee reserves the right to alter the programme, regulations and conditions of the event at any time, including starting times. All disputes shall be settled by the Tournament Committee whose decision shall be final. Any dispute/protest should be lodged within 15 minutes of completion of the round. This information may be requested in writing. 5. Entries: All entries to be submitted with pop. Payments to be made via EFT see banking details on Entry Form. Entries will not be accepted unless payment is made. No telephonic entries will be entertained. All entries shall be subject to the approval of the KZNLGA Executive Committee. No entries will be accepted from players whose handicaps have lapsed. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to limit the field. In the event of the tournament being oversubscribed, the Tournament Committee reserves the right to reduce numbers with preference being given to KZNLGA affiliated players and then eliminating in handicap order, from the highest handicap, followed by date-ofreceipt order. Handicaps: Handicap Index as of 06h00 on the 1 st December 2018 shall apply and determine the division in which a player competes. The Kloof CC Course Conversion Table Female red tees will be applied to calculate all nett results. Players are requested to have all open rounds captured by the above-mentioned time and date. It is the responsibility of each competitor to advise the Tournament Administrator (Vanessa Colby: sec@kznlga.co.za / 082 870 3621) of her correct handicap on the first day of play, subject to the following conditions: 6.1 Those players who are affiliated to WGSA and who have not been in South Africa for the last 6 months or part thereof, are required to submit their scores on the HNA as a "foreign round" and a verification of the foreign rounds, unless sufficient current rounds have been played in South Africa to validate their South African handicap. 6.2 Those players who are not-affiliated to WGSA (i.e. non-sa players) are required to submit a Handicap certification from their Federation or Home Club with their entry and at registration.
7. Ties: In the event of a tie in the Strokeplay in the Mid-Amateur or Senior Championship, as well as the Stableford Mid-Amateur or Senior Championship, then the trophy will be shared. All other ties will be decided in accordance with the KZNLGA Count-out method. The Mid-Amateur Champion and Senior Champion trophy winners shall be the lowest Gross 36 Hole score returned in the Championship (Handicap Index 6.5 & under) and Silver (Handicap Index 6.6 15.3) divisions. The trophy in the Mid-Amateur + Senior Bronze Divisions (H/cap Index 15.4 29.3) will be the awarded to the player with the highest 36 hole Stableford points. 8. Caddies: Competitors may not engage as a caddie anyone who is, or has been at any time, a member of a professional golf association as a caddie. Persons who have regained their amateur status are not included in this prohibition. Caddies may be reserved by contacting Kloof Country Club (Tel: 031 764 0555). The Host Club s Caddie Policy must be adhered to. Guest Caddies: (family/friends) are permitted and will be charged a Guest Caddie Fee of R30 per round payable at Registration and will be required to wear an official caddie bib during a stipulated round. PENALTY FOR BREACH OF CONDITION: Stroke play Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round Four strokes. (two strokes at each of the first two holes at which any breach occurred). If a breach is discovered between the play of two holes, it is deemed to have been discovered during play of the next hole, and the penalty must be applied accordingly. A player having a caddie in breach of this condition must immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred ensure that she conforms with this condition for the remainder of the stipulated round. Otherwise, the player is disqualified. 9. Transport: Motorized golf carts are allowed in all Divisions. It is the responsibility of competitors to book motorized golf carts directly with Kloof Country Club (031 031 764 0555). The availability of ride-on carts is not the responsibility of KZNLGA Golf. 10. Pace of Play: The KZNLGA Pace of Play Policy is in force and will be displayed on the Tournament Notice Board. 11. Score Information: If requested to do so, players must provide score information to Tournament Officials during the course of play. 12. Scoring & Results: A competitor is considered to have returned her score card when she has left the designated scoring area. The results are deemed to be officially announced and the competition closed at the commencement of the prize-giving ceremony. 13. Dress Code: in accordance with Host Club in the Club House, KZNLGA on the golf course and practice area. 14. Drug Free Sport: A competitor shall not knowingly make use of any drug to enhance her performance. Attention of competitors is drawn to the prescribed list of drugs issued by the South African Institute for Drug Free Sport. Consult their web- site www.drugfreesport.org.za or call 0861 272437. Any Competitor infringing this condition or refusing to take a test if asked to do so, may be disqualified. 15. Publicity: KZNLGA and the sponsors of the Championship may arrange publicity before, during and after the Tournament in the press, by live and recorded radio, television and by filming. The competitors assent to references to them and pictures of them at practice and in play appearing and being used for commercial purposes by KZNLGA and their Sponsors.
16. Etiquette: Unauthorised use or audible emission of a mobile telephone on the golf course or during play is a serious breach of etiquette and will attract a warning. Offenders could also be subject to penalties under Rule 33-7. 17. Weather Delays and Suspension of Play: The following signals are in force: Discontinue Play Immediately: One prolonged note of siren. Discontinue Play: Three consecutive notes of siren, repeated. Resume Play: Two short notes of siren, repeated In addition, the Note under Rule 6-8b is applicable. Appendix I Part B 4 in the Rules of Golf. When play is suspended by the Committee for a dangerous situation, if the players in a match or group are between the play of two holes, they must not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If they are in the process of playing a hole, they must discontinue play immediately and not resume play until the Committee has ordered a resumption of play. If a player fails to discontinue play immediately, she is disqualified, unless circumstances warrant waiving the penalty as provided in Rule 33-7. The signal for suspending play due to a dangerous situation will be a prolonged note of the siren. 18. Spectators: Spectators to keep off tees, fairways and greens at all times and not interfere with any player. The audible emission of cell phones is not acceptable and cell phones should be switched off. The use of motorised golf cars by spectators is not permitted without the consent of the KZNLGA President. Failure to adhere to such requests could lead to the spectators being asked to leave the golf course. 19. Liability: The Union does not warrant or guarantee the safety of any person. The Union and its management will not be held liable or responsible for any damages, loss, including personal loss and or other forms of loss, harm or injury sustained as stipulated below: Physical and/or emotional injuries suffered by any person, including a player or spectator, during the tournament, due to any acts of God, suffered as a direct result thereof, including aspects such as being struck by lightning, etc. Physical injuries of any kind suffered by any person, including a player or spectator, sustained by own negligence, or otherwise. Emotional injuries sustained due to any loss, including death, suffered as a result of any of the above injuries sustained personally or by a spectator.
