Dress requirements for the shoots in July and August: Dress as Cowboy as you can without endangering your health. It's a recreational and social event for fun. But, Please, no baseball caps. JS Sooner has stepped down as head honcho of the Dakota Badlanders. As of now, and until further notice, CAS at Guthesville is canceled. Re-instatement appears to rest on the folks guilty of the "incident" stepping forward. The "incident" as I understand it is that two cowboys were allegedly drinking Bud Lite while the match was still being shot. To my knowledge, there has been no clear cut description of the perpetraters. That whole situation strikes this reporter as flakey. Two folks accused, no I ain't mentioning any names, were folks from Trusty's posse. Now, tell me folks, who's posse has the rightly earned reputation as the last posse to finish the matches? I will make one more plea. If you were drinking during that match, step up, admit it, and let's move on. The worse they can do if you're a member of G-ville is terminate your membership. If you're not a member, the worse they can do is bar you from shooting at G-ville. And the way things stand now, we're all barred from shooting at G-ville. Do the right thing. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now the highlights for the three Elstonville Matches from May & June ================================================================================= may 25, 2014 Elstonville hombre's salute to the duke shoot 5 Nineteen shooters came out to celebrate John Wayne's 107th birthday. ============================================================================================ The july 29th elstonville shoot will be a Josey wales shoot Josey wales shoot is just like a regular Cowboy shoot except there will be four stages with just Rifle and Pistol targets. You are invited to shoot them like Josey Wales, using two more pistols instead of your Rifle, but, you don't have to. There will be one stage called the Mizura Boat Ride stage. Basic idea on this stage, you'll single load four rounds into a real Rifle and try to cut the "rope" sending the Redlegs down river under a hail of shotgun pellets. Why a Josey Wales shoot? July is usually our hottest month so if you use four Pistols, no brass to pick up and no shotgun targets to re-set {except for that 1 stage}. It worked pretty good last year. So, come out and give it a try. ======================================================= Remember to send in your registration for The Do-Over Shoot 2014 before August 31, 2014.
