Every effort will be made to accept all competitors. Entries will be accepted to range capacity (10 lanes per relay). Following confirmation, individual entry fees and completed entry forms need to be mailed to Joanne Pentz at the above address at least 2 weeks prior to the date of firing. Teams will register at the match and must be named before the first person fires. The 15 minute preparation and sighting period will begin 15 minutes prior to the start time. Membership: All competitors must be individual members of USA Shooting and the PRPA and must show membership cards at check in or join at match. Entry Fees: Smallbore or Air Rifle: USA Shooting Registration $12.00, PA Rifle & Pistol Assn. $3.00, Match fees $7.00 Total Individual fee $22.00 for either Smallbore or Air Rifle. $44.00 for both events. All teams are $10.00 per event. Make checks payable to DuBois Rifle and Pistol Club. Residence: Each competitor may claim residence in only one state and must declare the state of residence on the entry form. Residents are eligible for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place USA Shooting State Champion medallions. Residency is defined as to where the competitor holds a current and valid driver s license. If the competitor does not have a driver s license, residency is then defined as to where the competitor s parents/guardians reside. Non-residents may compete for invitations to the National Championship and are encouraged to do so. Non-residents are not eligible for state awards. Entry: Only scores from a registered State Junior Olympic match will count for invitation to the National Junior Olympic Championships. Shooters may not compete in more than one state JOSC. Juniors who fire in their own home state JOSC will not be allowed to shoot in another state. Juniors from states which are not holding a state JOSC, and those who cannot attend their own state JOSC, will be allowed to enter as a non-resident in another state. Non-residents should declare their home state at entry and are not eligible for state resident awards. A. Resident Qualifier: Competitors shooting in their declared state of permanent residency. Competitors in this category are eligible to be the state resident qualifier to the National JOSC. B. Automatic/At-Large: Competitors shooting in other than their declared state of residency are eligible for at-large/automatic invitations to the National JOSC. Categories: The following categories will be used for the competition: (Based on the age the competitor will be in the year 2017.) Junior (J1); age 18-20; competitors born from 1997-1999 Intermediate Junior (J2); age 15-17; competitors born from 2000-2002 Sub-Junior (J3); age 14 & under; competitors born in 2003 or later. Rules: THE 2014 EDITION OF USA SHOOTING RULES WILL GOVERN. USA 7.5.5 Targets & Distance: Orion targets will be used for the match at distances of 50 feet for smallbore and 10 meters for air rifle. Course of Fire & Time Limits: Smallbore: The positions will be fired in the following order: Kneeling, Prone, Standing 15 minutes will be given for preparation/sighting in Kneeling. Time: Kneeling 37 min, Standing 45 min, Prone 25 min times include sighters. 5 min prep between target changes Air Rifle: Women will fire 40 record shots and Men will fire 60 record shots. 15 minutes will be given for preparation/sighting before the first 20 shot string Time: Each 20 shot string will be 25 min- time includes sighters 5 min prep between target changes
Teams: All teams entered in the team competition must represent USAS & PRPA affiliated clubs. Teams will consist of three (3) firing members in both smallbore and air rifle. Sights: Metallic Sights only Coaching: Coaching on the firing line will not be permitted. Only competitors and match officials are permitted in the range during the event unless directed to do so by the match officials. Scoring Protests: Rule USAS 6.3.2B Orion Scoring System Protests Challenge Fee: $2.00 The statistical officer will evaluate the protested shot by examining the original shot to determine if the shot hole was correctly identified by the system or if there is an obvious error and the shot was scored incorrectly. If there is an obvious error, the statistical officer may make a manual correction of the score. If there is NOT an obvious error of the shot value, the statistical officer will re-score the protested shot by using the VIS system Protest Shot feature. If the original score was correct, a two point penalty will be deducted from the score of the protested shot. If the score protest is upheld, the score will be corrected and protest fee returned. Decisions regarding the protested shots that were re-scored by the VIS system are final cannot be appealed. Ties: All ties will be broken in accordance with USA Shooting Rules. Awards: A Junior Olympic Participation Pin provided by USAS will be given to each participant. Medallions provided by USA Shooting: Gold, Silver, and Bronze medallions for 1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd place residents, respectively. Category Awards: Awards for the categories, J1, J2, and J3 will be given according to the number of entries. Teams: State Champion Awards will be given and category awards (J1, J2, and J3), according to the number of entries. A competitor of team can only receive one award per event (smallbore or air rifle). Score Sheets: Official State JO Score Reporting Sheets will be used. They must be completely filled out and signed by the competitor in order to be considered for invitation to the National JOSC. Legible handwriting is required. ENTRY: After emailing match contact for firing point, entries should be made using the entry form enclosed with this program. If needed, open bolt indicators would be available for use during the match at no charge. Compressed air is available at the range at no charge. CO2 is not available. State Resident Qualifiers: USA Shooting will issue official invitations to the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships (NJOSC) for high scoring male and female state resident provided they fire a minimum qualifying score (Women s Air Rifle 300, Men s Air Rifle 500, Men s & Women s Smallbore 500). Resident collegiate and/or military competitors are eligible for the state resident qualifier invitations. Only scores from a registered State Junior Olympic match will count for invitation to the National Junior Olympic Shooting Championships.
