Program Description The Swim Lesson Program, hosted by the Vidant Wellness Center (Greenville Location), is taught by experienced instructors; participants seeking basic level instruction are guided through entry level objectives in a social setting. Instructor ratios are based on groups age ranges & classes are taught according to outlined lesson plans. Age Description Objectives Water Babies (6 s 2 years) Designed with a focus on water introduction, acclimation, & exploration. Parent / guardian must participate in the water & children are required to wear swim diapers. Listen for cueing Roll over, with help Float position, with help Passing, with help Scoop the water submersion of face / head Guppies (3 4 years) Designed to help children adjust to an aquatic environment by learning basic water safety skills and swimming mechanics, which can be developed at a later age. Program Waiver Program Registration Monthly enrollment deadlines are identified in the Program Description; after the registration period has passed, changes to enrollment status may not be able to be made. Registration forms & payment must be submitted on or before the registration deadline to be considered enrolled in this program. Enrollment must be purchased under the participant account who will be attending the program; not the person paying for the sessions. Class Attendance & Participant Behavior Class schedule is considered tentative & subject to change, if necessary. Class attendance is at the discretion of the participant; make up classes will not be scheduled for any that are missed. In the unlikely event that a scheduled session must be canceled by Vidant Wellness Center, as a result of unforeseen circumstances, the situation will be assessed, and if appropriate, a makeup session &/or refund will be provided as specified by the facility. For safety purposes, as well as to best maximize the time for learning of every participant, disruptive behavior will result in the removal from the daily session for a period of time to be determined by the instructor; if issues continue, removal from class may result. Class Instruction Instructors are hired by the facility due to their experience an aptitude for program instruction. They are trained continuously on skill technique and program design as outlined by the Aquatics Department. Session classes are taught to the description advertised through session specific lesson plan outlines. While instructors will make every attempt to adapt teachings to class participants, if a client desires more individualized instruction & personalized learning, consideration of a different program is encouraged. Transfer / Refund / Cancellation Policy Transfer / refund requests cannot be processed after the specified registration deadline has passed for a ly class session. If cancellation is not processed by advertised session registration deadline, the participant is accountable for the paid spot. 6
