T F A.) Illegal blindside block during the down T F B.) Targeting during the down T F C.) Unsportsmanlike conduct foul during the down T F D.) Illegal snap T F E.) Horse collar tackle during the down T F F.) Spearing after the whistle 10-4-1 Any live ball foul (except unsportsmanlike conduct or a non-player foul) is enforced based upon the action that occurred during the live ball. C, D, & F are treated as dead ball fouls. On 3rd and 10 from B's 16 yard line, A35 runs down to B's 8 and is tackled in bounds and B44 is then guilty of a late hit. The clock is stopped with 3 seconds to go in the 4th period and team A has no timeouts left. Team B leads at this point 14-10. T F A.) The clock must start on the ready. T F B.) The clock must start on the snap.

T F C.) A dead-ball foul does not allow team A to have the clock start on the snap. T F D.) If accepted, any team B foul allows team A to have the clock start on the snap. A dead ball foul occurred stopping the clock the clock would normally start on the ready except for our new rule 3-4-7 allows team A to have the clock start on the snap. The clock will start on the ready or on the snap depending on team A s decision. T F 1.) A backward pass that is grounded and ends up in joint possession by opponents will belong to the opponent of the passing team. 7-4-3-c T F 2.) The head coach and only 3 assistants may be in the restricted area during a play in progress. 9-8-3 T F 3.) For an onside kick during a free kick down, if a pop-up kick is executed, a dead ball foul is enforced 15 yards from K's free kick line and replay the down. 6-1-11 Penalty Section (it is only a 5 yard penalty) T F 4.) A team A lineman may not legally go in motion from a position on his line of scrimmage. 7-2-7 QB A10 is in a shotgun formation 4 yards behind the snapper on a 2nd and 8 at A's 40 yard line. A hard, high snap hits A10's hand(s) and falls to the ground at A's 32. A10 falls on the ball and recovers at A's 30 yard line. T F A.) This is a fumble by A10 and requires a bean bag at A's 36. T F B.) Holding by team B during this down would be enforced from A's 30 yard line. T F C.) This is a muff by A10 and it becomes a loose ball play. T F D.) It is not necessary for a bean bag to be thrown on this play. 2-27; 2-18; 10-3-1-c; 10-4-2-b; 10-6 A10 recovered a backward pass behind the line of scrimmage there was no fumble the basic spot for a loose ball play is the previous spot and therefore we do not need the spot of the muff for this penalty enforcement.

On 4th and 10 from K's own 20 yard line, K14 punts and the poor kick goes straight up into a strong wind. R15 gives a valid fair catch signal and catches the kick at K's 16 yard line. T F A.) Team R may elect to free kick for 3 points from K's 16 yard line. T F B.) The kick ends and the ball is dead at K's 16 yard line. T F C.) R15 may advance the kick that is caught behind the line of scrimmage. T F D.) By rule, this is not a fair catch. 6-5-2; 6-5-5; 6-5-4 A valid signal was given which causes the play to end when team R catches the kick it is a fair catch if and only if it is caught in or beyond the neutral zone team R may not free kick for 3 points because it was not a fair catch by rule. T F 5.) A live ball becomes dead immediately anytime a loose ball strikes a goal line pylon. 3-4-4-e; 1-2-4 T F 6.) The team B head coach is on the field of play and the HL collides with the coach during the final play of the 1st period as the clock is at 0:00 at the end of the down. The penalty results in a 1st down for team A and the period is extended for an untimed down. 9-4-8 Penalty Section; 3-3-4-b-2 T F 7.) Team K's kickoff to begin the 2nd half goes into team R's end zone for a touchback. Team R may have the ball placed anywhere between the hash marks on their own 20 yard line. 4-3-6-f T F 8.) An unsportsmanlike conduct foul by a player does not involve physical contact against an opponent. 9-5 On 4th down and 12 from team K's 35, K30 punts beyond the line of scrimmage and R83 is guilty of roughing the kicker. R16 gives a valid fair catch signal and catches the punt at team R's 28 yard line. Following the catch, K85 uses open hands to push R16 to the ground with both hands to the chest area. T F A.) Fouls offset - replay the down. T F B.) PSK clean hands enforcement - 1st down for R at their own 14.

T F C.) As a result of the penalty enforcement, 1st down for K at their own 35. T F D.) It will be 1st down for R at their own 28. 2-1-1; 2-1-2; 10-1-3; 2-16-2-h-3; 9-4-5 Penalty Section; 10-4-5-b; 5-3-1 Live ball foul by team R behind the neutral zone PSK is not an issue dead ball foul is administered following the automatic first down and then we set the chain. On 4th and 8 at team R's 42 yard line, K5 punts to R26 at his own 8 yard line. R26 muffs the kick and K88 forces the loose ball across team R's goal line in an attempt to gain possession. During the kick, R33 was guilty of a block in the back at team R's 16 yard line. T F A.) The result of this play is a touchback. T F B.) R33's foul is enforced from team R's 16 yard line. T F C.) R's ball 1st and 10 from their own 8 yard line. T F D.) R33's foul is enforced from the previous spot and results in a 1st down for team K. 6-3-1; 2-16-2-h; 10-4-3; 10-6; 2-13-4-a Just a touchback when a kick enters team R s end zone PSK does apply and the penalty is enforced behind the basic spot. T F 9.) The free-blocking zone no longer exists for the remainder of the entire down when the ball first leaves this zone. 2-17-4 T F 10.) A back in motion at the snap passes in front of the QB 4 yards behind the line of scrimmage. The QB hands the ball forward to this back who drops the handoff. The ball becomes dead and the play ends when the ball strikes the ground. 2-19-1 T F 11.) It is possible for all 11 team A players to be involved in a legal shift. 2-39 T F 12.) Batting is an intentional act and batting any grounded, loose ball is a foul. 2-2; 9-7-2 Exception

K14 kicks off to begin the 3rd period and R22 muffs the free kick at team R's 10 yard line. Teammate R18 bats the grounded kick from his own 5 yard line into and out of R's end zone to prevent a recovery by team K. T F A.) R18 is guilty of a foul for illegal batting. T F B.) The result of the play is a touchback. R's ball 1st down at their own 10 yard line. T F C.) If accepted, the penalty is enforced from the previous spot. T F D.) The result of the play is a safety. Enforce the penalty prior to the succeeding free kick. 9-7-2; 6-3-1-a; 10-3-1-a; 10-4-2-b Free kick enters R s end zone in kick status resulting in a touchback R is guilty of illegal batting during a loose ball play (free kick) enforce the penalty from the previous spot and replay the free kick down if the foul is accepted. STATEMENT The period is extended for an untimed down if and when one of these fouls occur during the final play of the period as the clock goes to 0:00. T F A.) An accepted loss of down foul. T F B.) An accepted foul that results in an automatic first down. T F C.) An accepted non player foul. T F D.) A double foul. 3-3-3-a, b; 3-3-4-b T F 13.) During a live ball in overtime, the play is over and the ball is dead if team B gains possession. Overtime procedure 5-1-3 T F 14.) Airborne receiver A88 clearly possesses a forward pass that has broken the plane of team B's goal line, but A88 is immediately pushed back by team B into the field of play and first touches the ground at team B's 1 yard line. The result of this action is a touchdown even though A88 never contacted the ground in team B's end zone. 2-15-2 T F 15.) Team K must be in a scrimmage kick formation at the snap in order to use a numbering exception even if there is no legal kick during the down. 7-2-5-b Exceptions

T F 16.) A runner who slides feet first is down and his forward progress is determined at the moment any body part other than a hand or foot touches the ground. 4-2-2-a QB A8's forward pass is intercepted by B22 at B's 4 yard line and his original momentum takes B22 into his own end zone. He begins to advance and is tackled at B's 2 yard line when A65 pulls him to the ground by the face mask. T F A.) It will be B's ball 1st and 10 at their own 19. T F B.) The momentum exception does not impact this penalty enforcement. T F C.) It will be B's ball 1st and 10 at their own 17. T F D.) If B22 had run completely over the end line beyond the end zone, the result of the down would be a touchback. 8-5-2-a Exception; 9-4-3-h; 10-4-4; 10-6 The momentum exception would apply if and only if B22 stayed in the end zone or went completely out the back or side of the end zone. Once he returns to the field of play, the momentum exception no longer applies. We simply have a running play and a personal foul face mask penalty. On a 4th down and 8 from K's own 28, K8 punts the ball down to R's 32 yard line. R15 catches the punt and begins his return up the field. As R15 crosses his own 40 yard line, teammate R40 is guilty of an illegal blindside block at the 50 yard line. R15 is then forced out of bounds at K's 40 yard line. T F A.) Team R is penalized from their own 32 using PSK enforcement. T F B.) Team R's ball 1st and 10 from their own 35 yard line. T F C.) Team R's foul occurred during a running play. T F D.) The blindside block is treated as a dead ball foul and the penalty would then be enforced from K's 40 yard line. 9-4-3-n; 10-4-4; 10-6 The foul by R occurred during the return (running play) so PSK is not an issue at all. We simply have a personal foul behind the end of the run during a running play.

T F 17.) A legal forward pass strikes the umpire in the shoulder and is then caught by B28. The ball becomes dead when it strikes an official and this becomes an incomplete pass. 4-2-2-e-3 T F 18.) A player disqualifies himself from the game if he is guilty of a 2nd personal foul for spearing, targeting, or an illegal blindside block. 9-5 Penalty Section T F 19.) Team R executes a fair catch of a 4th down punt on their own 18 yard line. Team R may have the ball placed anywhere between the hash marks for their 1st down. 4-3-6-d T F 20.) The muff or batting of a fumble in flight is not considered a new force. 8-5-1-a STATEMENT By rule, the foul is delay of game for each of the following situations. T F A.) The snap is imminent and A85's chin strap is totally unbuckled. T F B.) Team A snaps the ball prior to any ready for play whistle. T F C.) The snap is imminent and team B has 12 in their formation. T F D.) Team A is out of timeouts and the QB requests a charged timeout prior to the snap. T F E.) Receiver A83 returns to the previous line of scrimmage after a long incomplete pass and never goes inside the numbers prior to participating in the next down. 3-6-2-d, e; 3-7-1; 7-2-1 No foul for requesting a 4 th timeout we just don t grant it. Runner A45 carries the ball beyond the line of scrimmage and fumbles following a 6 yard gain. While the ball is loose, a whistle is sounded. T F A.) The down must be replayed from the previous spot. T F B.) Team A's choices are determined by which team recovers the fumble. T F C.) Team A must take the ball at the spot of the fumble. T F D.) The whistle creates an immediate dead ball. 4-2-3-b The fumbling team keeps the ball and chooses to replay the down or take the ball at the spot of the fumble.

T F 21.) An awarded fair catch can only occur as the result of a kick catch interference foul. 6-5-6 T F 22.) Team K punts on 4th down and the kick is blocked back into K's end zone where opposing players jointly possess the ball. The result of this play is a touchdown for R. 5-1-3-e; 8-2-1 T F 23.) A pop-up kick hits the ground once and then goes high into the air. For his protection, a team R player may legally fair catch this type of onside kick. 6-5-1 T F 24.) It continues to be legal to block below the waist, to block in the back, or to clip inside the free-blocking zone if and only if very specific conditions are met. 9-3-6 STATEMENT Each of the following become legal plays if and only if the referee is notified prior to the snap. T F A.) Right tackle A74 who is on the end of the line at the snap is an eligible receiver during the down. T F B.) Left tackle A72 picks up the ball that is left on the ground by the QB immediately behind the snapper and runs for a 1st down. T F C.) Snapper A55 who is on the end of the line in a swinging gate formation at the snap is an eligible receiver during the down. T F D.) On a 3rd down field goal attempt, there are no offensive lineman numbered 50-79. At the current time, there is absolutely no rule anywhere in our rule book that allows either team to execute a play legally that is illegal by rule if they inform the referee first. K88 is lined up on his own 33 with 5 K teammates on each side of the football between the 35 and 40 for a free kick down. As K88 approaches the ball, he veers off to the side and K45 kicks the ball along the ground down to R's 45 yard line. Players from both teams muff an attempt to recover the ball before K30 recovers the ball at R's 42. T F A.) Legal play - K's ball at R's 42.

T F B.) K88 is the only player who may legally kick the ball. T F C.) K30's recovery causes the down to end. T F D.) The ball remains dead when K45 kicks the ball and team K is penalized 15 yards for an illegal kick. 6-1-3-b If the wrong player kicks the ball, the ball is dead immediately and the penalty for the free-kick infraction is only 5 yards. T F 25.) Targeting is no longer a foul if and only if the contact is initiated with open hands facing the opponent. 2-20-2; 9-4-3-m T F 26.) The loss of player possession due to an unsuccessful handing of the ball is a fumble when the ball strikes the ground if and only if the attempted handing was backward. 2-19-1 T F 27.) On a free kick down, team R may only make a fair catch from their own free kick line to their own goal line in the field of play. 6-5-2 T F 28.) A legal knee brace must be covered by the football pants except for that portion of the brace that extends beyond the bottom of the pant leg. 1-5-3-b-3 QB A7 carries the ball for a gain of 10 yards and fumbles at the 50 yard line and the ball is recovered by B10 at team B's 47 yard line. During A7's run, B74 was guilty of an incidental face mask foul at team A's 45 yard line. T F A.) The end of the run is the 50 yard line. T F B.) The penalty is enforced from team B's 47 yard line. T F C.) The penalty is enforced from the 50 yard line. T F D.) The clock will start on the ready for play if the fumble and the recovery occurred between the hash marks. 9-4-3-h; 10-3-3-b; 10-4-4; 10-6 A simple running play and a 5 yard face mask penalty at the end of the run which is the spot of the fumble. The clock will start on the ready for play since the entire play occurred in the field of play.

On 4th down and 14 from team R's 24 yard line, team K attempts a field goal. R45 gets a running start and hurdles the offensive line following the snap. He makes no contact at all with a K player and blocks the field goal attempt and the ball goes out of bounds at team R's 38 yard line. T F A.) Legal play - R's ball 1st down at their own 38 yard line. T F B.) A foul occurred during a loose ball play and is enforced from the previous spot. T F C.) 1st down for team K at team R's 12 yard line. T F D.) 1st down for team K at team R's 9 yard line. 2-22; 9-4-3-d; 10-3-1-a; 10-4-2-b Hurdling during a loose ball play. STATEMENT The following areas of concern are now specifically addressed on the new gold card. T F A,) Properly wearing required and legal equipment. T F B.) Following all requirements associated with the sideline restricted area. T F C.) Responsibility for appropriate behavior from all persons in the team box area. T F D.) All of the above. Our new gold card for 2017 clearly addresses each of these issues. We certainly hope that has been beneficial. T F 29.) During the final down of the 1st period, lineman A68 loses his helmet completely and no foul is involved. The clock is stopped with 2 seconds left and is started on the ready and the clock goes to 0:00. As a result of the intermission between quarters, A68 may participate to begin the 2nd period. 3-5-10-d
