Saint Pius X Catholic School Newsletter February 25, 2016 Dear Saint Pius X Family and Friends, Thank you to all who have supported the Triad Catholic Schools Annual Giving Campaign. So far we have raised $12,500 of our $20,000 goal. For those who have not yet donated, please consider a 2016 tax-deductible donation. Family and friends of Saint Pius X are encouraged to make a donation online at: https://charlottediocese.thankyou4caring.org/triadeducationfoundationdonations. Please designate Saint Pius X in the dropdown menu. If you have not yet heard the great news, our Varsity Basketball Teams and Cheerleading Squad were very successful at this past weekend s Shamrock Basketball Tournament in Charlotte. Our Varsity Boys Black Team went farther in the tournament than in any previous year, our Varsity Boys Gold Team placed 2 nd overall in the entire tournament, and our Varsity Girls Team earned the Champion title for the fourth consecutive season. In addition to the tremendous success of our basketball teams, our Varsity Cheerleading Squad represented Saint Pius X in high spirit, participating in the Shamrock Tournament s Varsity Cheerleading exhibition and tirelessly pepping up our team and fans throughout the weekend. Way to go, Comets! As a reminder, Re-registration Packets are due Friday, March 4 in order to secure guaranteed placement for your child for the 2016-2017 school year. Please do not delay as new student applications have been at an increase throughout the grade levels. We are also very pleased with the number of Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten applications that we have received, especially now that our new DeJoy Primary Education Center is well on its way to this summer s completion date. We were excited to learn that drywall has begun to be installed this past week. Finally, please note that our school year will be extended by one day to compensate for the three snow days that we have accrued this winter. Our last day of school will now be Monday, June 6. The date for 8 th Grade Graduation has not changed. Please keep in mind that any additional inclement weather days will be added to the end of the school year, so please pray for good weather throughout the remainder of the cold weather months. In Christ s love, Anne W. Knapke Mission Statement Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic School Saint Pius the Tenth Catholic School places Christ at the center of all that we do. Partnering with our parents and parish communities, we create a challenging and innovative academic experience that inspires and prepares our students to be capable leaders of positive change.
