Where applicable, athletes/judoka must have a valid sports health certificate. Minimum Age: Year of birth 2002 Minimum Grade: Green Belt and above Criteria: Athletes of IQ 75 INAS Category ll1 will be used for this championship. To continue this great progress, we will be hosting an educational seminar on the evening of Friday 24 August 2018, with support from our event partners. This seminar will aim to share knowledge and best practice between National Federations and provide an opportunity for members to engage with INAS, the Judo working group and the EJU in the formulation of an international development plan for adaptive judo. 1
ENTRY PROCESS: Entry for the 2018 European ID Judo Championships opens on Monday 16 April 2018. The entry portal can be accessed using the link below after this date: https://www.britishjudo.org.uk/2018-intellectual-disability-championships/ To enter the event, National Delegations must complete the following four short steps: 1. Event Pre-registration Form This form is to submit your Delegation s initial entry numbers and make payment. 2. Athlete Eligibility Form Ideally, all athletes competing will have full Primary eligibility but Provisional eligibility will be accepted. 2.1. All applications for eligibility/classification need to have the INAS Member Nation endorsement through their Member Nation / National Eligibility Officer (NEO). 2.2. Once that is completed, the application should be submitted by the Member Nation to INAS for evaluation using the ISMS system. 2.3. You can find your Member Nation - https://inas.org/project/member-organisations. 2.4. If you do not have an INAS member or NEO, please contact 2018EuroID@britishjudo.org.uk for further information. Please do not send applications and evidence to the event organisers in the UK. 3. Accommodation On-site accommodation can be booked for 85 per person per night. This rate includes bed, continental breakfast, lunch at the venue, evening meals and entry into the Saturday evening farewell party. ALL ACCOMMODATION BOOKINGS MUST BE MADE BY SATURDAY 30 JUNE 2018. 4. Final Registration Once INAS eligibility has been confirmed, the final entry form with athlete details, copies of passports and further required information must be completed by the National Delegation lead. 2
CLASSIFICATION: Level 1 A judoka who can train and compete with mainstream players regularly on club level. Has a good understanding of the meaning and goal of the competition. Capable of taking part in Special Needs/Adaptive Judo, National and International Championships. Level 2 The judoka understands the knowledge of judo and the meaning and goal of the competition. Capable of taking part in Special Needs/Adaptive Judo, Local, National and International championships and tournaments. Where the home nation uses a 3-level classification process, athletes from L1 & L2 with an IQ of 75 or below are eligible to enter. Where the home nation uses a 5-level classification process, athletes from L1, L2 & L3 with an IQ of 75 or below are eligible to enter. Note ALL CONTESTS WILL COMMENCE IN TACHI-WAZA (STANDING POSITION) Any persons who have additional requirements in addition to an intellectual disability, may not be eligible to enter if it is detrimental to their health or unfair disadvantage. EG - Artificial joints, etc. If weight categories show insufficient entries, merging categories will be considered. Consultation will commence during Classification on 22nd August 2018 at the competition venue. MAXIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 300 Each Country can register up to 20 athletes (10 male, 10 female). 2 players per weight/level & sex. Additional participants can be offered if the minimum number of the category is not reached to ensure a meaningful competition for the judoka. Requests for extra players must be submitted to the email below with INAS provisional eligibility in place: 2018EuroID@britishjudo.org.uk. REFEREES: Identified Referee s will have high knowledge of Special Needs/Adaptive Judo competition and will be recognised by British Judo and EJU. 3
COMPETITION: Judogi: All athletes must wear white judogi and are requested to provide their own blue & white belts. Event back patches will be provided to all competitors free of charge and sent your Lead Delegate prior to the event to be sewn onto your white judogi. These will state the Nation and will not include each athlete s name. Rules: All judoka and coaches are required to review and accept the competition rules of the event. Weight Categories may be merged if there are insufficient entries to a specific weight group. Registration/Entry Fee: 100 per judoka, official delegation and carer. This includes on-site lunch on 22, 23 and 24 August.
