4 P a g e 4 CONDITIONS OF ENTRY: Eligibility is limited to drivers who are holders of a current A, B or C Grade AKA licence. D grade or provisional licence holders are not eligible to enter. Your attention is drawn to Rule 20.25(g) Refusal or acceptance of entries as per rule 1.16 The Race Secretary reserves the right to allocate/change Race Numbers as per rule 25.14(b) The promoters reserve the right to abandon, postpone or cancel any event as per the 2014 AKA Manual Refund of Entry Fee as per rule 23.10(b)(ii & iii) NO LATE ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED MINIMUM ENTRIES (Rule 20.25): If less than eight (8) genuine entries are received to constitute a Class by the listed close of entries then the Class will NOT be contested. All drivers whose entry is not accepted for any Class shall be notified as soon as possible and entry fee will be returned. 6 P a g e 6 GENERAL REGULATIONS MECHANICAL BREAKDOWN LANE (Refer Rule 17.10): The Mechanical Breakdown lane will not be in use at this event. KART RETRIEVAL: Pit Crew with trolleys will NOT be given access to the circuit during qualifying and racing. Pit Crew must only enter the Circuit when permitted by the Grid Marshall and then only if wearing a hi-viz vest. Karts can be retrieved via access through the In/Out Grid. INSURANCE: Has been effected for this Meeting in accordance with Chapter 3 of the 2014 KA Manual. SCRUTINEERING: Scrutineering for this race meeting will be in accordance with KA Rules. In particular we draw your attention to Rules 1.17, 1.21, 1.22 and Chapter 12 of KA Rules. As per rule 1.17 of the 2014 AKA Manual, each kart shall have affixed to it a correct scrutineering sticker or identifying mark supplied for the meeting. This signifies that the driver has confirmed their entry for the meeting and completed a Scrutineering Form relevant to the entry. As from Thursday 2 nd October 2014, the Grid Marshall / Scrutineers shall not allow any kart that does not display a correct scrutineering sticker or identifying mark to practice, time-qualify or race. Failure to comply will result in the driver being excluded from the Meeting. Scrutineering for this event will be in accordance with KA Rules. ENGINE SEALING AND CHASSIS TAGGING: As per rules 1.30(i) and 1.30(j) of the 2014 KA Manual CONTROL FUEL: Refer Rule 22.2 g)(i) & (ii) The control fuel for this event is 98 OCTANE and must ONLY be purchased from: BP GERALDTON 190 NORTH WEST COASTAL HIGHWAY GERALDTON (OPPOSITE BUNNINGS) The control fuel can ONLY be purchased from Wednesday 1st October and MUST be used from Friday 3 rd October until conclusion of the event on Sunday 5 th October *Random samples of competitor s fuel may be taken during the meeting and tested for conformity to samples of the Control Fuel taken from the supplier on these dates. Competitors are reminded that fuel tanks and drums should be empty prior to being used for fuel purchased for this meeting. No dumping of fuel will be allowed on site. TRANSPONDER FITTING INSTRUCTIONS: AMB compatible transponders must be mounted in accordance with Rule Note: All karts MUST have fitted and correctly charged and operating transponders for all sessions commencing Friday 3rd October TIMING AND LAP SCORING RECORDING: As per rule of the KA Manual.

7 P a g e 7 TYRE POOLING (Rule 23.10) Tyre Pooling will occur at this meeting. Tyres will be available at the designated times as laid out in the timetable. It is the drivers responsibility to collect his/her tyres between the stated times. NB - All competitors are to supply their own wet weather tyres and must present them for marking scanning to the nominated area when directed. BULLETIN BOARD LOCATION Official notices will be posted on the Bulletin Board located at THE CANTEEN. SECURITY Security will be provided during the night from Tuesday 30th September until morning on Sunday 5 th October by Midwest Kart Club members. VEHICLE / TRAILER ACCESS: No vehicles are permitted in the pit area. Oversize trailers, Base Stations, Mobile Homes in designated area as directed by Pit Marshall. On southern side (Speedway side). Pit spaces of 3m x 3m only. Pitting from trailers permitted. Please complete the pit allocation form. Any vehicles that will be used to pit from will be parked in the designated area and will be there for the duration of the meeting. No roping off- Pit allocation by Pit Marshall/ Coordinators only. CANTEEN Tuesday Open from 10am Drinks only Wednesday Open from 10am Dinner at the track Thursday Open from 8am Dinner at the track Friday Open from 7am Dinner at the track Saturday Open from 7am Dinner at the track Sunday Open from 7am Dinner at the track FURTHER NOTES: Midwest Kart Club will have limited power supply, please supply your own generators. Camping is allowed on Southern side of Track only. Showers available. No animals allowed. No unlicensed driving of motor vehicles permitted at the circuit. No motorised scooters, mini bikes, roller blading, skateboards and tricycles allowed at the complex during the entire meeting. Officials may confiscate any such items for the duration of the event. The club does not have EFTPOS facilities available trackside. These Supplementary Regulations must be read in conjunction with the 2014 KA Manual and all published Amendments.

10 P a g e 10 Appendix STATE RULES RELATING TO OPEN CLASS WA Open.01. Preamble: The WA Open class was conceived to be a high performance class with very basic rules and is based on the Open Performance Class (Chapter 42) of the AKA rulebook. Karting WA created the class allowing a range of engine categories, each category having a weight which has been selected with the goal of creating a similar overall kart performance for each engine category over a range of circuits. It is permissible to change engine category (and hence adjust to appropriate weight) during a race day, but stewards must be advised so weigh marshals are aware of the appropriate weight. In keeping with the very basics, it was our intention that we have a class that required the minimum of regulations and engine measuring, essentially being that if the kart: conforms to Chapter 25. Australia Kart Formula is within the weights (see below) and the engine is within the capacity limits as specified for it(s) engine category (see below) and the engines for the 125cc Gearbox conform to chapter 43 of the 2005 Rulebook. then it is eligible. WA Open.02. Engine Eligibility: Major engine components (crankshaft, crankcases, cylinder barrel and externals of cylinder head) must be derived from AKA or CIK registered engines 1. Two Stroke or Four Stroke engines 2. Single or Twin engines 3. Engines may be air or water cooled 4. Clutches and electric starters are permissible 5. Supercharging is not permitted 6. Further restrictions for specific events may be specified in the event s supplementary regulations WA Open.03. Carburettor: One carburettor per cylinder. WA Open.04. Fuel: Only Premium Unleaded (PULP) fuel can be used. WA Open.05. Ignition System: Digital ignitions systems are allowed if fitted to the engine originally by the manufacturer and are of the same type and style as originally fitted otherwise only analogue type ignition systems are permitted.

11 P a g e 11 WA Open.06. Tyres: 1. No modifications permitted, tyre treatment is illegal (Refer Rule 23.03) 2. Dry weather tyres any AKA approved dry tyre as per Rule Five tyres only per meeting (irrespective of rules on tyre replacement). 3. Wet weather tyres- any AKA or CIK wet tyre. Five tyres only per meeting (irrespective of rules on tyre replacement). 4. Bead retention optional, but compulsory on all karts with a combined (kart & weight) of above 170kg. WA Open.07. Braking: Front wheel brakes may be used and are compulsory on all karts with a combined (kart & driver) weight of above 170kg. WA Open.08. Capacities and Weights: The following are the maximum capacities and minimum weights for each type of eligible engine 1. Piston ported engines 125 cc 130 kg 2. Pre 1998 CIK style Reed or Rotary 103 cc 140 kg 3. CIK style Reed or Rotary 100 cc 103 cc 150 kg to 135 cc reed, rotary or piston port engines 141 cc 150 kg 5. Up to 135 cc derived from KF series engines 135 cc 160 kg 6. Rotax Max DD2 141 cc 175 kg 7. Twin Clubman/Formula Australia (must conform with relevant Technical Specification on AKA Website). Engines can by mixed. 206 cc 170 kg 8. Twin engine (reed, rotary, piston port or modified Clubman/Formula Australia) 210 cc 180 kg 9. Twin engine (reed or rotary valve water cooled) 210 cc 185 kg 10. Biland 4 stroke 250 cc 155 kg Gearbox (motocross style engines) 128 cc 175 kg 12. Intercontinental C and KZ styled engines 128 cc 180 kg 13. Twin 125 TAG engines (engines as per relevant class chapter) 255 cc 185 kg WA Open.9. Limitation on Drivers: To be eligible to compete in this class, a competitor must hold a minimum of an AKA B Grade license.
