These are on all manner of TCMA, SSPC, reprint issues, re-issue cards and collector issues. The autographs are quite strong overall, remarkably clean in fact for something of this size. The players represented here are the usual suspects, but there sure are a lot of them! There is very little duplication by card, but many of various players (nothing is overly excessive however, there are not 20 Bob Fellers and Bobby Doerrs or anything approaching that, these are fairly evenly distributed). 6 February 3 Auction: Baseball Autographs x 5 Dahlen, Bill Extremely rare and desirable autograph, it was a great shock to many in the collecting world that he did not make the HOF in Dahlen played from and amassed 2,461 hits and 1234 RBIs for the Cubs, Dodgers, Giants and Braves. Dahlen died in 1950 and is an autograph that simply does not come to market (partially because some people are holding them into he goes into the HOF). His HOF election still seems inevitable to us; if that occurs, how much will this run then? The offered piece is a terrific 3x5 with a superb William F. Dahlen bold blue fountain pen signature. One of the scarcest autographs of its era, this one is a beauty. Fresh to market, this has been in a Barry Halper NY Giants album for decades. 349 Cut Foxx, Jimmie Offered is an exceptionally large and fine Jimmie Foxx cut signature. We like this as it was signed during Jackie s final season as a player. 348 Cut Donlin, Mike (D 1933, rare) A forgotten name to many, Turkey Mike Donlin was one of the biggest stars in baseball at the turn of the 20th century, was a major celebrity and had a big vaudeville career. Key HOFer, namesame for Mickey Mantle; D Hubbell, Carl (World Class, Incredible Content) We all know the autograph of New York Giants HOF pitcher King Carl Hubbell is common, and the minimum bid on this lot might seem crazy, but just wait till you read this letter. The right edge of the letter is clipped. signed boldly Earle B. Combs in period blue fountain pen. Postmarked August 21, 1934, content warmly thanks a fan. Signed Walter Johnson in blue fountain pen, the n in Johnson bleeds slightly, not bad at all. Faber, a HOFer from the 1919 Black Sox team, is an extremely rare single, this may be the first one that we have ever seen or handled. Something that you just never see, this is something truly special. Faber missed the 1919 World Series with the flu, probably very fortunate for him. Pleasing Mack single with an unusual amount of writing, nice piece. 450 Tom LaSorda (lot of 12) Pleasing run of this uncommon single, all are signed on clean Selig balls with HOF inscriptions. This is special as it is signed Mickey Mantle HOF 74 in bold and spotless blue ink on the sweet spot. Mantle hardly ever did inscriptions other than #7, making these thousands of times scarcer than the usual Mantle single. Terrific quality, this highly desirable Mickey Mantle signature will fill one of the most vital holes in any HOF single signed ball collection. 451 Fred Lindstrom s/30s New York Giant HOFer Fred Lindstrom died in 1981, five years after being inducted into the HOF. Common on 3x5s and such, he hardly ever comes around on a single and is missing from even extremely advanced collections. The offered ball happens to have a gorgeous blue ink signature, the nicest one is likely to ever find on a baseball. The ball itself is a clean Spalding League Ball that looks terrific. Outstanding combination of autograph and baseball, we dare say this will be an upgrade for any of you that are fortunate enough to have this ball in their collection. 455 Mickey Mantle (vintage) Very desirable true vintage single signed Mickey Mantle on an OAL Harridge ball. This may have seen some game use, and has some general wear. This is is signed and inscribed by Mickey on a side panel, a very pleasing vintage blue ink signature. 452 Ted Lyons Slightly toned OAL Brown ball has a bold and dark ink signature on the sweet spot. Subtly clear-coated for protection, this displays quite well. Better single as this 1930s HOFer died in 1986, before the modern show era. 456 Heinie Manush 9 (OAL Cronin) One of the rarest of all HOF singles form its era, when was the last time one of these came to market? Offered is a real gem, this ball was signed to former All Star player Roy Sievers. The ball is a white and fairly clean OAL Cronin model. Signed over an entire panel, there almost could not be any more writing. A very special ball, this will fill an awfully tough hole that is likely present in even the most advanced single signed baseball collections. 73

Great value lot, fresh to the hobby, there could be some very tough balls in here. 458 Babe Ruth Gorgeous Babe Ruth single signed baseball, among the best that we have ever seen or handled. Signed on a super clean OAL Harridge ball, this is simply terrific. Signed To Richard Sulzer From Babe Ruth in remarkably bold fountain pen, quality is amazing. This wonderful signature contrasts perfectly against the very clean ball. While we understand of course that it would be better if this was not personalized, this could well grade a Mint 9 and might be a $50,000 ball without the inscription, it is truly that nice. If you want a superb Babe Ruth single, than this beautiful signed baseball is something to seriously consider Red Sox - 28 different w/ken Brett Consigned by a truly die-hard Red Sox fan, this is a very deep run (missing Tony C of course) from this beloved Red Sox team. This is a desirable lot as it includes the very tough Ken Brett (pers., D 2003), Dick Williams, Yaz, George Scott and Billy Rohr. Condition is terrific, all are on official balls. An exact listing will be on our web site. 459 Ted Williams (lot of 5) 9.5 (OAL Brown) Premium lot of Teddy Ballgame singles, each is on a very clean OAL Brown ball. Content is as follows: Aaron, Bench, Dawson (2, both HOF), Eckersley, Feller (2, 1 HOF), Musial, Palmer (2, both HOF), Rose (2), Ryan, Seaver, Snider (HOF) and Bobby Thomson. Lots of value here, a nice lot. 464 DiMaggio and Mantle Fine matched pair of Joe DiMaggio and Mickey Mantle single signed baseballs; Mantle is signed on a flawless OAL Brown ball. Joe DiMaggio signed a Mint OAL Budig ball with a desirable #5 inscription and a hologram from the Joe DiMaggio estate. Absolutely spotless pair. 466 Fine Vintage HOF Ball w/2 Jimmie Foxx s Great ball, this is a slightly toned OAL Harridge model with a tiny mounting hole on the sweet spot. Signed exclusive by HOFers, there are 10 total signatures. Almost certainly signed at a HOF Induction, the autographs are as follows: two Jimmie Foxx s!, Home Run Baker, Mickey Cochrane, Ray Schalk, Lefty Grove, Paul Waner, Charlie Gehringer, Joe Cronin and Carl Hubbell. As Cochrane and Baker died in 1963, this can of course be no later than that. The autographs are a pleasing 8/10 overall and this is one of the best HOF balls from this era that can be found. This ball originated from the personal collection of team owner Joe E. Brown. Multi-Signed Baseballs Home Run Club 9 (ONL Giamatti) Fairly clean ONL Giamatti ball has some stray areas of toning but is nice overall. Signed by 10 members of the 500 Home Run Club, missing only Ted Williams from the usual suspects. Mike Schmidt is on the sweet spot, making this a great add for Phillies collectors. The autographs are in uniformly bold blue ballpoint ink and include Mantle, Mays, Aaron, Banks etc. 467 Giamatti/Feeney Rare ball, this is an evenly toned ONL Feeney model that probably saw some light game use. This is special as it is signed on the sweet spot by Bart Giamatti (D 1989) and on a side panel by Chub Feeney (D 94). The Giamatti signature is large but not perfect, about an 8/10 in our view, and the Feeney is quite bold. Giamatti balls hardly ever come around, especially something like this. 469 Mantle/Mays/Snider 9.5 (OAL Brown) This is an absolutely spotless OAL Brown model ball, signed by these three legendary New York City HOF center fielders. Each has signed in Mint blue ballpoint, Mickey is on the sweet spot. These are not so easy to find in this quality. 470 Old Timers w/dean (5 sigs) 8 (OAL Cronin) Desirable ball, this is a clear-coated OAL Cronin model. Vintage signed, this has five bold period blue ballpoint ink autographs. The absolute key to this ball is a fine Dizzy Dean on his own panel, 100% displayable as a single. The other signatures include Pee Wee Reese, Phil Rizzuto and Al Schacht. This comes in the original box. 75

23 February 3 Auction: Signed Baseballs 471 Old Timers w/foxx, Grove & Maris Fairly unique ball, this is a clear-coated OAL Cronin model from the 1960s. Extremely desirable, this ball boasts 22 fairly bold period ink signatures, a few of which have bled a bit (please consult the images of all panels on our web site). There are nine HOFers and some fine secondary star players. The key to this ball is a superb Jimmie Foxx on his own panel over the seal. Other better signatures include Greenberg, Grove, Dickey, DiMaggio, Maris, Johnny Murphy, Red Rolfe, Joe McCarthy and Earl Averill. Fairly unique ball, how many signed baseballs exist with Jimmie Foxx, Roger Maris, Hank Greenberg and Joe DiMaggio together? In light of this uniqueness and stellar star power, we feel the condition issues can be forgiven. Please note this comes in the original box. 474 Rickey/Frisch Rare ball, this is an evenly toned ONL Frick model from the 1940s or 1950s. The ball shows typical signs from age and is not bad at all. This is a very desirable ball as seminal HOFer Branch Rickey (D 65) is signed on his own panel and fully displayable as a single signed ball. In addition, HOFer Frankie Frisch signed the sweet spot and is also 100% displayable as a single signed ball; oddly enough, there is a clubhouse Dizzy Dean on an opposing panel. If you need to fill a space for a Rickey (or even a Frisch) single or are a big Cardinals fan, than this is something to take a look at. 472 Old Timers w/lefty Grove on Sweet Spot (12 sigs, 9 HOFers) Desirable 1960s era OAL Cronin ball has 12 reasonably strong period blue ink signatures. There are 9 HOFers, and are as follows: Grove, Traynor, Musial, Feller, Gehringer, Boudreau, Irvin, Doerr and Roberts. The other signatures are Thomson, Furillo and Branca. It is very unusual to find the signature of Lefty Grove on the sweet spot of a baseball. Grove, considered by many to be the greatest pitcher ever, died in 1975, long before people gave thought to such things. 473 Old Timers w/jackie Robinson (16 sigs) Fairly unique ball, this is a clear-coated OAL Cronin model from the 1960s. Extremely desirable, this ball boasts 16 fairly bold period ink signatures, a few of which have bled a bit (please consult the images of all panels on our web site). There are seven HOFers and some fine secondary star players. The key to this ball is a fine Jackie on the bottom of one panel (Jackie is very unusual to find on these types of balls). Other better signatures include a strong Paul Waner, Pepper Martin, Ernie Lombardi, Joe Medwick, Rip Collins, Billy Herman, Bucky Walter and Van Lingle Mungo. In light of this uniqueness and star power, we feel the condition issues can be forgiven. Please note this comes in the original box Ruth/Foxx Completely fresh to the hobby, this little treasure has been in a single family for many generations. Obtained in the New England area, we believe it was from 1935 when Babe Ruth was a Boston Brave and Foxx a Boston Red Sox player. The ball itself is a more than respectable ONL Giles with only some moderate general wear. This has a classic but light Babe Ruth on the sweet spot and a bold Jimmie Foxx on a side panel. If the Foxx was a single, this might be close to a five figure ball. Either way, this is special at it pairs the two premier sluggers of the era, signed as players, and of course two of the most feared hitters in all of baseball history. The Foxx autograph is huge, running the full length of the panel, the Ruth is a pleasing 5/10, 100% legible and still attractive. Great ball has not been seen by a hobbyist until now!

24 February 3 Auction: Signed Baseballs 476 Ruth/Gehrig Signed Early 1930s Ball One one of the weakest condition Ruth/Gehrig balls you will find, this is a completely toned OAL Harridge model ball. There are over 13 signatures on this ball, with note to HOFers Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe Cronin, Hank Greenberg, Mickey Cochrane and Rick Ferrell. Non-HOFers include Tom Bridges, JoJo White and Wes Ferrell. Please note our photos will be slightly enhanced so the autographs are visible but the ball itself is fully dark and the autographs are not easy to discern. Please note Ruth, Gehrig and Greenberg and are among the clearer autographs on the ball. 479 Wood, Joe Sr and Jr Always popular, Wood was an incredible pitcher for the early 20th century Red Sox teams, later a hitter and then coach to George H.W. Bush at Yale. Wood died in 1985 and is always a popular autograph on a ball. The offered lot is a slightly toned Rawlings Official League model from the late 1970s or early 1980s. This has a large and fine blue ballpoint ink signature of Smokey Joe Wood, and in a great touch, this is also signed Joe Wood Jr by his son in Mint blue ballpoint. Joe Wood Jr. played briefly for the 1944 Red Sox and died in Fresh to the hobby, from an incredible Red Sox autograph collection, how often do these come around? 477 Umpire Signed Ball w/klem & Goetz Rare ball, this is a lightly toned ONL Frick model from the 1940s. There are autographs of six umpires on this ball. The absolute key to this ball is the rare autograph of HOF umpire Bill Klem (D 1951); the other signatures include Larry Goetz (D 62), Babe Pinelli, Harry Geisel, Lee Ballanfant and Steve Basil. Umpire balls are very popular among a certain segment of the hobby due to their uniqueness and relative rarity, this one is a step above the others as it has the autograph of Bill Klem, which is extremely hard to find on any medium, much less a baseball. 480 Yankee Stars w/dimaggio & E. Howard 9 (OAL Cronin) Neat ball, this is a fine looking OAL Cronin model signed at an Old Timers Day game or other event in the 1960s. Solid ball as it offers a superb earlier Joe DiMaggio on the sweet spot, Elston Howard on his own panel (displayable as a single, superb quality), Tom Henrich and Gil McDougald. This comes with the original box. 478 Washington Senators 1959 Old Timers w/moe Berg & 4 HOFers Great ball, this is a very high grade OAL Harridge model with 22 signatures of former Washington Senators players. The signatures are quite fine overall, only a few are light. Solid ball as this has Moe Berg and HOFers Heinie Manush, Goose Goslin, Sam Rice and Stan Coveleskie; other notables include Chuck Dressen, Luke Sewell, Alvin Crowder, Roger Peckinpaugh and Cecil Travis. This was signed at a 1959 Old Timers Day game, how many of you have ever seen one of these? 481 Cy Young/Bob Feller Very unusual ball, this is a mildly toned and clean Little League Official ball from the 1940s. Signed on two separate panels by Cy Young and Bob Feller, each 100% displayable as a single. The Cy Young autograph is light but presentable, the Feller much bolder. This is a great chance to get a ball that displays as a Cy Young single without spending huge sums of money. Both were signed around the same time, likely in the 1940s, but possibly in the early 1950s as well. Neat ball. 77

25 February 3 Auction: Signed Baseballs Team Signed Baseballs Reds Team Ball Evenly toned ONL Heydler ball has 20 total signatures. Keys include HOFers Eppa Rixey (very scarce on a ball) and George Kelly. Other better names include Chuck Dressen, Carl Mays, Ethan Allen, Hugh Critz and Clyde Sukeforth. Signatures vary, some are very light. Overall, this is a fully presentable 1920s team ball with two HOFers and two other big names Yankees Team Ball w/real Gehrig - from Game 1 World Series! Clean OAL Barnard ball is quite nice. This has autographs from 18 team members. October 4, 1928 is written at the bottom of one panel, so we believe this was signed during game one of the 1928 World Series. This has a clubhouse Ruth but everything else is good. The ball is a fairly clean OAL Barnard model and while the signatures are certainly not Mint, they do present quite well. Keys include a pleasing Lou Gehrig, Lazzeri, Pipgras, Bengough, Meusel, Durst, Paschal, Dugan, Zachary, Thomas, Grabowski (rare), Pat Collins and Mike Gazella Yankees Team Ball w/fine Gehrig Signature Strong ball, this is a mildly toned and quite clean OAL Harridge model. This little treasure has 26 period fountain pen signatures in various colors. The absolute key to this ball is an extremely fine, exceptionally nice Lou Gehrig autograph on the sweet spot. The other signatures include HOFers Tony Lazzeri (D 56), Dickey (2x), Ruffing and Combs. Better non-hof autographs include Powell (D 1948 at age 40), Hadley (D 63), Rolfe, Murphy and Henrich. Six signatures are clubhouse: DiMaggio, Gomez, McCarthy, Fletcher, Malone and Pearson. While this might keep this from being a five figure ball, the Gehrig here demands some serious attention and is not that different than a similar example on a ball we sold several years ago for almost $9,000. Fresh to the hobby, if you want a high grade Gehrig autograph on the sweet spot of a Yankee ball, than this is something to seriously consider Cubs Team Ball (partial) w/real Hack Wilson Unusual ball is a Official Partridge League model. Lower grade ball, this is signed by 21 different members of the 1930 Cubs. One signature is clubhouse (Jimmy Burke) and four are enhanced (McCarthy, Clair, Hartnett and Taylor). With that disclosed, this still very desirable ball offers authentic signatures of Hack Wilson, Ray Schalk, Kiki Cuyler, Riggs Stephenson, Charlie Grimm, Bob Osborn and Bill McAfee. Two panels are much better than the others, and these panels happen to have the Hack Wilson and Ray Schalk signatures (each 8/10 in our opinion). These two autographs alone make this a desirable ball. This is especially nice as it was signed the year of Hack Wilson s virtually unbreakable single season RBI record of Senators Team Ball Lower grade Brines Official League ball has 17 total signatures. Rougher ball, the signatures vary and are not great. With that said, this is a very elusive AL Championship team ball, the last Senators team to make it to the World Series. Better autographs include HOFers Heinie Manush and Joe Cronin, as well as Stone, Travis, Crowder, Whitehill, Schacht and Bluege Reds Team Ball Tough ball of this World Championship team. Clean ONL Frick ball has 21 light but generally legible autographs. Better names include Ernie Lombardi, McCormick, Gowdy, Arnovich, Derringer and VanderMeer.

The signature of Nelson Potter precisely dates this as a The person who collected this must have been very discriminating as there are only 12 signatures, but these include all of the keys, with note to no less than five HOFers! Lefty Grove is on the sweet spot from his final season (in which he attained his 300th win), vitally Ted Williams from one of the most famous seasons in all of baseball history, as well as an early Doerr. The other signatures are Pytlak, Finney (D 66), Dom DiMaggio, Dobson and Harris (D 71). Foxx and Cronin are the only clubhouse. Fantastic example of an extremely important and desirable team ball Pirates Team Ball w/frisch Very clean ONL Frick ball has 15 total signatures. Five are clubhouse oddly enough (Vince DiMaggio, R. Sewell, Klinger, Fletchet and Coscarat). Other signatures include the elusive Rudy York (D 79), Wally Moses, Hal Wagner, Johnny Pesky, Joe Cronin, Bobby Doerr and Tom Carey (D 1970). A famous Red Sox team, they lost in heartbreaking fashion to the Cardinals in the World Series. This is a very scarce team ball and simply outstanding in terms of condition Dodgers Team Ball Offered is a clean off-white ONL Giles model ball. There are 23 total signatures, with only one clubhouse (Burt Shotton), which is great for a Dodger ball from this era. This includes the key signature of Rookie Jackie Robinson but it is quite light. The other keys are better, with note to Hodges, Reese, Arky Vaughan, Branca, Lavagetto, Reiser and Fitzsimmons. Shotten is the only clubhouse autograph here. Overall this is an affordable and presentable example of a key team ball AL All Stars Team Ball Great ball, this is a clear-coated OAL Harridge model. Authentic signatures include a fine real Jackie, a fine real Campy, Hodges, Dressen, Cox, Podres, Dick Williams, Palica, Erskine and Labine. Quality Dodger ball as it has a real Jackie and Campy. 79

36 February 3 Auction: Non-Sports Cards Goudey Indians Complete Set (216) + Wrapper VG-Ex/Ex A truly classic and beloved set, one of the absolutely vital non-sports card sets of any era and truly prized among the few collectors who are fortunate enough to have been able to complete a full set. A bear of a set to make, some of the high number cards and other commons simply do not come to market, making this always a multi-year project. Carefully collected by our consignor over perhaps a decade, these are a very pleasing mid-grade quality overall, with clean backs (only six have clear tape on the reverse) and only mild, natural variance (there are Ex Plus and Ex-Mt cards scattered about as well). Scarcer series are represented as follows: Series 24 (1), Series 48 # (23), Series 48 #25-48 w/red panel (2), Series 48 high # (14), Series 96 #1-24 (11), Series 192 #25-48 w/line ending more cards (2), Series 288 # (1), Series 288 # (3) and Series 312 (29). Some cards have multiple variations, for a total of 234 cards plus the wrapper. The winning bidder should really enjoy this treasure Horrors of War Complete Set w/wrapper VG-Ex Vital set, one of the most important non-sports card sets ever produced. A landmark issue, this set vividly showed the great costs of war throughout Europe and East Asia. This set does not in any way glorify war, the vivid images were in fact an attempt to clamp down a rush to war by showing its horrid effects. Among collectors, this is a real prize and sure to be among the top highlights of any non-sport card collection. The offered set is completely fresh to market and was carefully assembled card-by-card by a collector with a good eye. We sent the following cards to PSA: 1 PSA 4, 88 PSA 3, 95 PSA 4, 191 PSA 6, 195 PSA 5, 213 PSA 5, 237 PSA 5, 240 PSA 5, 245 PSA 6, 261 PSA 5, 269 PSA 6, 277 PSA 2, 283 PSA 4, 285 PSA 4, 286 PSA 3 and 288 PSA 2. The set includes a desirable wrapper. For the balance of the set, for the series, condition is just shy of Ex overall, with some Ex-Mt and better cards scattered about; hardly anything is VG, the backs are quite clean. The series cards are very similar, a very consistent VG-Ex/Ex, again a hair below Ex overall and more than respectable. The highest number cards ( ) are also VG-Ex/Ex and well collected. One of the most visually striking sets of cards ever produced, this would also not be out of place in a 1930s sports card collection for something different. A very smartly assembled mid-grade set, again completely fresh to market. 89

37 February 3 Auction: Non-Sports Cards R132 Aviation Complete Set (48) VG-Ex Well cut, these have residue on the back from being in a scrapbook or other medium, so definitely not something for slabbing. The fronts, however, are generally well cut, bright, clean and attractive. Elusive 1930s aviation set Gunmakers True Spy Story Complete Set (24) VG to VG-Ex Elusive little set, the first time we have handled one of these. The set vividly illustrates and describes various spy stories going back to the American Civil War. Condition varies, some are weaker with respect to corners but otherwise present well, others are VG-Ex or better. The set has no technical defects and the backs are clean. 615 Collection of 5 U.S. Historical Related Sets Ex Fun lot of four circa 1940s R sets related to American history. These were all issued in strips and can be somewhat challenging to grade. We feel these are a bright Ex overall but there will be some variance. The lot contains the following four sets: (1) R129 American History (48 cards, varies but close to Ex Plus overall), R58 Generals and Flags (24 cards, mid-grade, about VG-Ex/Ex overall), R128 Western Series (48 cards, VG-Ex to Ex-Mt) and R130 Western Series (48 cards, mixed grade, about VG-Ex overall with variance) and R131 Western Series (48 cards, about Ex overall with some variance). Fun group of sets to peruse, these represent a terrific value in today s market World In Arms Complete Set (48) Ex but varies Pleasing 48-card set also includes an additional card with an overprinted back. The cards are about 50-60% Ex or better, the balance almost all a nice VG-Ex. Collected with care, this is a very attractive issue heavy on detailed images of aircraft, artillery and other weaponry. The backs are perfectly clean, the fronts as well. Corner wear, centering and mild toning keep this from grading higher but again this is a very attractive and consistent mid-grade set. The unusual numbering system on the reverse probably makes this one of the harder sets to find complete Lone Ranger Complete Set (48) VG-Ex/Ex Vital set, beloved by so many collectors of non-sports cards from this era. The basic 36-card set is a very consistent VG- Ex/Ex, there is some mild variance but these were clearly collected with great care; 4-5 cards are sharp and could well be 6s or 7s, there is nothing beat up here or in immediate need of an upgrade. We sent all of the high numbers to PSA and they came back as follows: 37 PSA 6, 38 PSA 4, 39 PSA 5, 40 PSA 4, 41 PSA 4, 42 PSA 2, 43 PSA 4, 44 PSA 3, 45 PSA 4, 46 PSA 4, 47 PSA 4 and 48 PSA 4. A well assembled midgrade set, how often do these come around? Collection of 6 World War Two Era R Sets Ex Reasonably well presented collection of five circa 1940 R World War Two related sets. Each is 48 cards and has good color and eye appeal. The cards easily average Ex overall. The sets are as follows: Army Navy Air Corps (Ex+ overall), The Second World War (mixed, about 70% Ex-Mt, balance VG), America At War (about Ex overall), The Nightmare of Warfare (about VG-Ex overall), R-40 Defending America (sharp Ex-Mt overall) and R-54 The Foreign Legion (mostly a nice VG to Ex-Ex). These sets are not rare but they are also far from common, and appear to represent a simply tremendous value in today s market Uncle Sam Complete Set (144) Ex Produced by Gum Inc, this is a very patriotic set from This is a very tough set to complete as it has a very tough high number run ( that catalog for $125 per card). This vital high number run is quite clean overall, all will be pictured front and back on our web site. This is another extremely graphic, colorful and evocative set that highlights all of the various modern weaponry used at the time as well as terrific detail on the preparations on the home front for war. The backs are quite clean overall, the fronts a strong Ex Plus overall with only mild variance. Very desirable and attractive mid to better grade example of this classic 1940s non-sports set.

38 February 3 Auction: Non-Sports Cards War Gum Complete Set (132) VG-Ex Visually striking set, very evocative of the era. Cards are fairly consistent and were clearly collected with care, there are only a handful of weaker cards in this offering. The backs are exceedingly clean overall. Difficult set as it is fairly large and has a high number run. Fun set has attractive cards of many of the key military and world leaders of the team, as well as terrific color images of the war and its destruction. High quality set, it is easy to see why these are so popular among collectors R168 M.P. & Company War Scenes Complete Set (48) Ex Bright and attractive set was hand-cut from strips as intended. Cards vary a bit, some have mild creasing, but most are Ex or better and clean. The colors and imagery are quite vibrant Goudey Indians Complete Set (96) + wrapper Ex A reissue set but far from common, these are distinguished from the 1933 issue by black printing on the back. The offered set is somewhat mixed but also exceptional overall as there are some very clean cards here. We sent these into PSA for grading: 1 PSA 7, 2 PSA 7, 10 PSA 5, 18 PSA 5.5, 25 PSA 5, 36 PSA 5 and 87 PSA 4 (we honestly feel these grades are extremely conservative). The balance of the cards are very sharp and clean overall, perhaps 70-75% Ex-Mt and nicer, with many Near Mint cards, the balance mostly Ex to our eye. Fine looking set is one of the nicest that we have seen. Please note the #1 card in a PSA 7 holder is a very pricey card: the last sale we could find was for an SGC 7 back in 2009 for $282. The pop report on this card is pop 1/2 with only two higher, the #2 card is a pop 1/8 with only one higher. Extremely fine example of this fun 96-card also comes with the wrapper in a nice touch America Salutes the FBI Complete Set (36) VG-Ex/Ex Fun set we have not seen or handled until now. A good companion set for the baseball and football Bowman issues, as the back is similar. Cards are Ex Plus overall, a few stray cards could be upgraded. Clean and attractive smaller-size card issue from Ed-U Cards Lone Ranger Complete Set (120) Ex+ w/nicer Uncommon smaller size issue, condition is about half a superb Ex-Mt or better, the balance mainly VG-Ex or Ex. A nice set that is well composed, the backs are clean. Strong mid to higher grade set overall Hopalong Cassidy Complete Set (284) w/all 8 foil cards Key set from its era, the size, high numbers and the very tough foil cards make assembling a full set a real accomplishment. Interesting set as the color tints progress from black and white to many other colors, culminating in the fully colorized high numbers. The offered set is nearly half Ex-Mt, the balance mostly VG-Ex and Ex (I love that so many have their original rough cuts). Collected with great care, this is a very nice mid to better grade set. The high number cards offer wonderful color, with some centering issues and a few cards in need of upgrading (closer to Ex overall but again with variance). The eight foil cards (all of which will be pictured front and back on our web site) are a grade lower, about Fair-Good overall with one much nicer card than the others. The backs are very clean overall, the set is very well assembled. This might be the first time we have ever offered a full set of these at public auction Post Cereal Hopalong Cassidy Complete Set (36) NM Sharp and crisp set is about 80% Near Mint or better, the balance mid to better grade. Ideal lot if you are a fan of these great Islander teams or just looking for quality hockey sticks with good provenance. 723 Collection of 3 Signed Golf Bags w/key HOFers Interesting lot, offered are three full size leather golf bags consigned to us by the family of a very well connected businessman. These are clean and have signatures per bag, mostly baseball and hockey players. These were obtained by a person close to Islanders HOFer Clark Gillies, so hockey is very well represented here. Signatures include Gary Carter (2), Whitey Ford, Mario Lemieux (2), Bobby Nystrom, Clark Gillies, Brian Trottier, Ed Westfall, Jim Stuckey, Billy Smith and Ed Kranepool. Obtained no doubt in Long Island, there could well be some additional better signatures (everything will be pictured on our web site). The bags themselves are no doubt valuable, making this a desirable and fairly unique lot Scorecard Chicago - New York VG Very well preserved, this has some subtle creasing but otherwise looks great. Neatly scored, this is for a game between the Cubs and the Giants. No HOFers, this has been folded at one time. This is a very unusual period from which to find a scorecard Pirates Scorecard w/honus Wagner VG Scarce early scorecard, we have not handled this design until now. Notable players in the printed lineups include Honus Wagner, Fred Leach and HOFer Jake Beckley. Early 20th century scorecards seem awfully undervalued to us in this market Scorecard Cleveland/Philadelphia w/lajoie VG-Ex Desirable and scarce scorecard, we hardly ever see this year or design. The cover has a fairly generic image of a batter awaiting a pitch in a game. There is some wear in one spot on the spine, the cover is otherwise clean. This is the first time we have seen one of these Book (How To Become A Player) Base-Ball by John Montgomery Ward (rare) Ex One of the rarest baseball books, offered is How to Become A Base-Ball Player by HOFer and future esquire John Montgomery Ward. Printed in Philadelphia by the Athletic Publishing Company. In this book, Ward discusses the history and origins of baseball and details the ins and outs of each position in one of the earliest autobiographies of any American sports figure. This is in remarkable condition, with the full original paper cover and hardly any wear on the spine (just some very mild general wear). The interior pages look very nice and this book has survived the trials and tribulations of the 20th century fairly well over all. Ward was one of the vital figures in the history of 19th century base ball as he helped organize one of the first player strikes and also became a lawyer after his playing career. A truly fascinating personality that will no doubt fully engage the attention of this book s eventual owner. The last time we handled one of these was back in 2001, and it was in far inferior condition. This is presented in a custom designed slipcase, an outstanding presentation worthy of this little treasure Book Athletic Sports Illustrated VG-Ex Glorious book, this is a very hefty (711 pp) tome devoted to sports in the late 19th century. Undervalued and key 19th century book with some truly great visual and textual baseball content Rare Player s League Print GVG Extremely scarce and desirable print, one of the very best of all 19th century prints. Actually copyrighted by Street and Smiths, this is dated June 28, 1890 under the headline Supplement to Good News and is titled Popular Baseball Players. This pictures a full 32 players on a period baseball diamond, black and white of course. Loaded with stars, including John Ward, Connie Mack, Bob Caruthers, Roger Connor, Mike King Kelly, John Clarkson, Dan Brouthers, Charlie Comiskey, Bid McPhee, Cap Anson, Amos Rusie, Tim Keefe, Buck Ewing, Sam Thompson and Ned Hanlon (basically virtually any 19th century star that can be named by 99% of collectors)! This has condition issues along the bottom border, mitigated by the mat in which it is presented. There are some stray creases in various places, but these do not diminish from the eye appeal. Beautiful and superb scarce print with a boatload of HOFers, this is the first time we have seen or handled one of these. The print is 13 x 9 1/2 and this is matted to 17 1/4 x 13 3/4. 105

This orange background postcard with 13 fine looking 1 3/4 x 2 3/8 b/w images of various members of this star team, including the HOFers. There is damage to the Frank Chance at the top by the original staple, which we assume to be typical; this is otherwise clean and is why we did not assign this an overall grade. The color and overall visual feel is certainly Near Mint, with only very, very minute wear at the very bottom of the base. This is a terrific example of a rare nodder that we have only handled once before (and this is superior) Tony Kubek Game Used Pants Ex Original pair of Yankee pinstriped pants. Use is excellent throughout, with note to a repaired tear on the back of one leg. This is chain stitched as follows on the waistband: Kubek and is a Spalding Set Kubek also signed this and there are other notations below (all will be clearly pictured on our web site). Key player, a very popular personality and future HOF broadcaster; real equipment from someone of this stature is always very desirable. 109

57 February 3 Auction: Baseball Memorabilia 769 Boggs, Wade Game Used Bat Ex Fine looking 1980s era C235 Wade Boggs professional model bat measures 34 inches long. This has lots of pine tar, has many ball marks and exhibits simply outstanding use. Extremely fine looking bat from this truly professional hitter and of course HOFer, 26 is written on the knob in vintage black marker S. Rini Brooklyn Dodgers Original Artwork Collection of 14 different - all player signed! Offered is an original collection of one-of-a-kind 11x9 original artworks created and signed by artist S. Rini. On cardboard, these are simply lovely and evocative full color images of various Brooklyn Dodgers; these are published artworks as cachets. Content is as follows, each is handsigned in bold sharpie ink by the depicted player: Barney, Black, Branca, Craig, Erskine, Gionfriddo, Hermanski, Jorgensen, King (2 diff.), Loes, Podres/Throneberry, Shuba and Chris Van Cuyk. Great lot for a big Dodger fan, these have endless display potential! 771 Glavine, Tom 1996 Braves Home Jersey Ex-Mt A very classic HOF jersey, offered is a great looking Wilson 1996 Home Tom Glavine Atlanta Braves professional model jersey. This is a size 44 with 96 stitched below the manufacturer s tag. Sturdy and high quality jersey, this is signed by Glavine on his number on the back. Popular HOFer and 300 game winner, this will be a nice addition to almost any collection. 772 Curt Schilling Late 1990s Phillies Signed Game Jersey Ex-Mt Extremely attractive example of a Curt Schilling Phillies jersey, this has a great look. The offered jersey is signed by Schilling in bold sharpie ink. This Russell Athletic size 50 model is from the late 1990s. There is a Phillies patch on the chest, with Schilling 38 on the back. Schilling s number appears again on the left sleeve and this has the proper Russell Athletic size 80 and 100% polyester tags. This shows light use and comes with an LOA from Lou Lampson. A potential HOFer, one of the most impactful baseball players over the past 20 years with three World Series titles to his credit. 773 Smoltz, John 2002 Braves Signed Road Game Jersey Ex-Mt A classic Atlanta Braves jersey from newly Minted HOFer John Smoltz, a very popular player. This is a very attractive road flannel signed in silver sharpie on his number on the back. The classic Atlanta logo dominates the front, providing for some serious eye appeal. Light to moderate use is present. This is a size 50 Russell Athletic with a 2-02 tag. Signed HOF game jerseys from this era are always very popular Yankee Stadium Original Double Seat Ex This is an historic pair of original Yankee Stadium seats removed from the Cathedral in the Bronx, Yankee Stadium after the final game of the 2008 season. These legendary Yankee stadium seats witnessed much history and were enjoyed by generations of fans since their installation after the 1973 renovation of the original Yankee Stadium. The arms of the seats have gone through a lead abatement process and have been re-painted in Yankee blue. The adjoined seats are numbered 1 and 2 with their original numbers attached. Here is a chance to own a real piece of Yankee history. 110 END OF AUCTION
