2 BASEBALL CATHY LEE CROSBY is an internationally known star, multi-talented actress, and entertainer. Her diverse career includes: Representing the U.S. in international tennis competition (reaching a career high of #7 in singles & #4 in doubles); Special Ambassador to Children for the United Nations; Member of the Board of Directors of the Congressional Award (nominated & confirmed by 2/3 of the House & Senate of the U.S.); Founder & Chairperson of the Get High on Yourself Foundation; Entertaining the troops with Bob Hope on his Christmas tour of the Middle East; host of the first reality TV series, THAT'S INCREDIBLE, as well as starring in over 60 feature films, mini-series, and television productions. One of seven known variations of Connie Mack poses, this particular prize (Throwing, Catcher, C. Mack ) displays a sepiatoned likeness of the rookie backstop more than a decade prior to his half-century endeavor as the game s most revered manager. Presented is a trio of colorful 1887 N284 Buchner Gold Coin singles, including Arundel (PSA 6), Barkley (PSA 5, Pittsburg) and P. Smith (PSA 5) N172 Old Judge Tim Keefe SGC Authentic Graded Authentic by SGC. The cordial Sir Timothy Keefe presides on this 1887 N172 Old Judge specimen. Although there is scrapbook removal and multiple creases, this early Hall of Famer is precisely portrayed on an unobstructed, nineteenthcentury sepiatoned photograph Allen & Ginter N29 William Buck Ewing - SGC 30 Graded 30 Good 2 by SGC. This 1888 Allen & Ginter N29 William Buck Ewing card depicts the Major Leagues first-ever player to hit double-digit home runs in his New York Gothams apparel. Charles Benjamin Babe Adams, the winning pitcher in three games of the 1909 World Series is displayed on this 1910 American Caramel Die-Cuts arms at side pose variation. Although the pitcher is missing two of the accompanying tabs, this type otherwise displays characteristics of an (EX) example. Only four similar cards have been evaluated by the grading service E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts John Flynn (Running) SGC 40 Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC. The swashbuckling John Flynn presides on this 1910 E125 American Caramel diecut. Despite a surface crease that traces down his lower legs and surface discoloration, this antiquity still retains a pleasing visual appeal. Only four total specimens of this running pose have been judged by the grading service E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Owen Wilson (Throwing) SGC Authentic Graded Authentic by SGC. Owen Chief Wilson was a feisty outfielder who once smacked a league record 36 triples in a season. The Texan presides on the offered 1910 E125 American Caramel Die- Cuts throwing pose variation. A combination of surface and reverse wear and markings lead to the technical assessment. Only one other similar specimen has been assessed by SGC E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Al Bridwell (Fielding) SGC Authentic Graded Authentic by SGC. Presented is an attractive 1910 E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Al Bridwell fielding variation. The stealth infielder is portrayed on a captivating horizontal pose. Although Bridwell s glove has been removed, the card otherwise presents (VG to VG-EX). One of only two judged by SGC with none better E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Cy Seymour (Fielding) SGC Authentic Graded Authentic by SGC. Cy Seymour peers into the heavens as he attempts to shag a fly ball on the offered 1910 E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts fielding pose variation. A pair of original tabs is missing which leads to the technical assessment. This keepsake otherwise displays (VG) qualities and only five similar examples have been judged by SGC E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Hooks Wiltse (Throwing) SGC Authentic Graded Authentic by SGC. Offered is an impressive 1910 E125 American Caramel Die-Cuts Hooks Wiltse (throwing) pose variation. The southpaw is graded as such due to scrapbook residue found on the reverse. This hurler otherwise presents in (VG-EX to EX) condition. The image of the right-handed twirler is barely obstructed by light creasing and surface discoloration. The reverse displays moderate traces of scrapbook removal that does not adversely affect the bold advertisement. The obverse concedes four pinholes along the top border. (6) 1912 T207 Brown Background SGC Graded Cards These six 1912 T207 Brown Background graded cards have escaped the surface crazing and creasing which frequently plagues this delicate issue. Each assessed as either 70 EX+ 5.5 or 80 EX/MT 6 by SGC, these glossy near century-old relics are accompanied by bold Recruit Little Cigars advertising reverses. Included are SGC 80: (3 cards) with H. Davis, Fisher (Blue Cap), M. Mitchell (W. Mitchell photo); SGC 70: (3 cards) with Milan, Mullin ( D on Cap) and Schaefer s Allied Printing Willie Rowe Negro League Ad Card - SGC 50 Graded 50 VG- EX 4 by SGC. This 1930s Allied Printing Know Your Crawford Willie Rowe Negro Leagues ad card is one of only three SGC graded examples and is the lone specimen at its tier, with none graded higher. The two-sided collectible features a black-andwhite likeness of Rowe and, on the postcard side, an advertisement for a Crawfords- Philadelphia Hilldales twinbill. Judging from the calendar date, this particular rarity was issued in Honey Boy #14 Babe Ruth SGC 50 Presented is a 1927 Honey Boy #14 Babe Ruth which is graded a 50 VG-EX 4 by SGC. According to the SGC population report, this pint-sized treasure is one of four such examples to have been judged by the grading service, with only one reported better. This Canadian issue stands with the William Paterson series as the most elusive north of the border sets to feature The Sultan of Swat. This black-and-white relic reveals a barely distinguishable vertical surface indentation and negligible corner wear, but retains decent centering and impressive eye appeal. The advertising reverse displays only slight soiling (perhaps period ice cream staining) but is otherwise clean and does nothing to adversely affect the overall grandeur of this cornerstone. The sheet is blankbacked and features the specimens in three-card panels as they were issued in 1964, highlighted by examples of Mantle, Clemente and Mays. The borders of the sheet show the usual color tests, reference marks and a trio of tape-strips though they remain smooth with no evident tears. Though a close inspection reveals some light wrinkles on either side, the surface remains aesthetically pleasing with no tears or major folds. Graded 40 VG 3 by SGC, this example is one of only eight to have been evaluated by the thirdparty service. In a departure from the normal theme, the Mays test card features biographical content on the reverse, rather than the customary playing tips. A minor bump on the upper right corner along with surface discoloration accounts for the technical assessment. The Giants home schedule is accented by the face of the franchise, who is all smiles as he holds a full bottle with the endorsement: Coke is a Natural! Carl Yastrzemski 1983 Game-Used Louisville Slugger Bat - PSA/DNA 8 The heir to Ted Williams spot defending the Green Monster, Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski became Fenway s most revered fixture, performing 23 seasons for the storied New England-based franchise. This Louisville Slugger K48 signature model weapon was wielded by Yaz during his 1983 swan song. Employed as the 44-yearold notched his 22nd career double-digits home run campaign, this (31.6oz/35 ) white ash lumber shows excellent game use with ball, stitch and bat-rack marks about the barrel, checking on the hitting surface and pine-tar residue on the handle. The cream-colored button-down home garment boasts ORI- OLES arched across the chest in black-on-orange felt and 39 sewn to the back in like fashion. Orange-and-black trim lines the collar and sleeve endings and there are six holes (as tailored) under each arm to facilitate ventilation. On the tapered left front tail, a Wilson size 40 label is accompanied by a felt strip tag with embroidered notations of On the back, a stitching outline shows that the jersey originally had the number 1, which belonged to utility player Bob Saverine during the 1963 campaign. Of the replacement numerals, the 3 appears to have been added at a later date while the 9 is vintage. Oriole rosters of the mid-1960s suggest that this jersey was worn by Saverine in 1963 and subsequently re-issued during a spring training session. Moderate wear is evident. The offered Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig dual-signed baseball is an impressive memento related to these Hall of Fame icons. With a winning streak that once reached 27 games, these beloved birds stirred Charm City into a frenzy. To capitalize on this ardor, a series of previously unidentified cards were released to the public. For years the few owners of these uncatalogued prizes had little to build on when determining an origin. Unconvering this mystery, a reliable Maryland-based collector has supplied proof that these collectibles were inserted into loafs of the Tip Top Bread brand. Having recently surfaced in Baltimore, Maryland, the offered accumulation of thirteen 1921 Baltimore Orioles (Tip Top Bread) cards are the only such graded and the largest grouping to be offered for public sale.
