2 Page 2 Sheriff Attends Walk a Mile In Her Shoes Event Sheriff Gautreaux, along with District Attorney Hillar Moore, U.S. Attorney Don Cazayou and Coroner Beaux Clark helped host the second annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes men's march for STAR. STAR, Sexual Trauma Awareness Response Center, raises awareness of sexual violence and provides support for survivors of rape and sexual abuse in the Baton Rouge community. The event drew almost 300 participants, with the men wearing high heeled shoes to the support the 1 in 4 women and girls in our community who have been sexually assaulted. STAR raised almost $10,000 with the help of the contributors. St. George Junior Beta Club Donate Bears The St. George Junior Beta club made 30 teddy bears for children deputies come in contact with while working domestic and other cases. The students were hoping that this small token would assist them in their time of need.

Chiquita Broussard was recognized as an officer of the year by the Baton Rouge Association of Women Attorneys on May 4th at a luncheon hosted by the organization at the Camelot Club. Sheriff Gautreaux presented the award. Congratulations Baton Rouge Association Of Woman Attorneys Sunrise Rotary Club Sgt. Brian Blache was selected as the Sunrise Rotary Club Public Service Award winner for It was presented on May 24 th at the Bocage Racquet Club by Captain Tommy Rice.
