Bailey died Thursday, May 30, 1940, at the ripe ald age of 94 years, at the home of her son Dumas Bailey at Picayune, Miss., where she had made her home for the last two years. "Grandmother" Bailey as she was lovingly called by all who knew her, lived many years here with her daughter, Mrs. Walter Green of Franklinton, and had many warm friends in this community. It is impossible to tell all the worthy things about this wonderful old lady's beautiful life for she had an unflagging energy and practiced daily her life long creed of "serving others" as long as she was able, and never wanted to be trouble to anyone after she became an invalid a few years ago. Mrs. Nellie Bailey was the widow of the late Jas. P. Bailey. The body was brought from the Poole mortuary in Bogalusa to the Green home Friday morning and on Saturday afternoon, after a short prayer service by Rev. W.L. Compere was taken to her old home church at Pine Grove Mississippi Baptist Church, where her old Pastor, the Rev. Thompson assisted by Rev. E. B. Chaney conducted a swet funeral service. Deceased is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Walter Green and two sons, Dumas Bailey of Picayune, and Milton Bailey of Camden, Ark., and a large number of childrenand great grand children who attended the funeral.
