2 Talking Point Visiting Team "LONDON LINES" Our results against Lancashire sent Shockwaves throughout the rest of the Premier Division, and during the following week I had a number of telephone calls asking if there had been a misprint. Sadly, there was no misprint however there have been quite a few occasions during my thirteen years with London when we have won games we should really have lost, and lost when we should have won. Whilst not wishing to detract from an excellent Red Rose' performance, the Lancashire men's A' result certainly came in the lost but should have won column. We outscored them on maximums 10 to 7, were just behind in the tons tally 112 to 107 and had a team average of The result notwithstanding, that kind of performance would win nine games out of ten. Another boost came in the Ladies' 'A', when Sharon Colclough earned the Top Inter-Counties Award ( 100) for an average of With the kind of year that Sharon is currently enjoying, it is difficult to see anyone else but her at the top of the rankings for some considerable time to come. This weekend we play host to, and welcome, the players, officials and supporters of Glamorgan who, like London, have been members of the exclusive Premier Division' Club since the start in In our recent meetings, Glamorgan have had the upper hand and once again they visit the 'Smoke' with a star-studded squad. TRAVEL MANAGER'S REPORT Our next away trip, at Suffolk, is on the weekend of 31st March/1 st April, and I shall be 'in residence' at the Glamorgan match ready and willing to take your accommodation requirements. No official coach is being laid on forthe Suffolk game, however, if enough people require transportation I shall endeavourto arrange the hire of a suitable size coach. The cost of this shall be borne between those travelling. The hotel booked is the Post House, Ipswich for which one night's accommodation (Saturday) has been tentatively reserved. Those persons wishing also to stay on the Friday can do so, but will have to settle their own account for that night.
