5 Bluffton college is our oldest athletic rival and old rivals are always the best. We have always been glad to see Coach A. C. Burcky and his men and we welcome them heartily today. Warren E. Steller, Athletic Director Bowling Green As members of the Northwest Conference we enjoyed the keen rivalry of Bluffton. Bowling Green always knows that they have had a football game when playing the Beavers. We welcome you again. Paul E. Landis, Line Coach, Bowling Green s

6 # Another Bowling Green-Bluffton game... and it carries much of fine tradition. These games are never over as evidenced by the greeting exchanges of former players. These recollections are fine and wholesome and that is as it should be, so today again we expect courteous words and chivalrous deeds to be present even in the heat of contest, the flush of victory or the sting of defeat. A. C. Burcky, Coach, Bluffton A few years ago Bluffton college, in casting about for a good nickname for her athletic teams selected "BEAVERS". The energetic little home building animal was selected as the emblem because he carries on in spite of great odds in his life time. <*>- Harold Johnson, of Dalton, 0., is this year's leader of the Bluffton Beavers. The sturdy guard is a Junior and is regarded as a good blocker and an excellent defensive man.

7 BLUFFTON COLLEGE FOOTBALL SQUAD 1932 Champions of the Northwest Conference Bluffton college always produces a fine football team despite the fact that it is a small school and her grid squads are not large. Coach A. C. Burcky always has a fighting team and this year is not an exception. Many of the veterans of last year's Northwest Ohio Conference champions, pictured above, are back this year. One of the leaders is Millard Fretz, 210 pound veteran tackle, who is one of the best linemen ever produced by the Beavers. ^ <$>- Millard Fretz, Tackle STAR DRY CLEANERS "DISTINCTIVE BUT NOT EXPENSIVE" Phone S. 12 Freshman Squad Declared Best Ever A squad of excellent athletes reported to Coach Fred Marsh this week to make up the Class of 1937 football roster and there seems to be no doubt in anyone's mind, but that the squad is the best that the college lad. About thirty uniforms have been f" issued, some o f them to boys who have had no experience and who are out to learn what they can this year in hopes that possibly they may be able to make the varsity sometime before their college careers are ended. The majority of the lads are fellows who have had experience and some of them were stars in their home high schools. In scrimmage against the varsity this week, the Frosh have romped wildly up and down the field, showing that they have glorious possibilities. <8>- VOTE INDEPENDENT Nov. 7, 1933 Theirs is a record of deeds not a platform of promises Independent Voters Ass? n, Don't miss the Homecoming program MEET YOUR FRIENDS At ROGERS BROS.
