Ten species are herein recorded. The following two species are described as new to science: Chrysotus cerciaffiliatus Liu, Wang & Yang, sp. nov. and Chrysotus neimengguensis Liu, Wang & Yang, sp. nov. Five species are recorded from Inner Mongolia for the first time: Chrysotus biprojicienus Wei & Zhang, Chrysotus femoratus Zetterstedt, Chrysotus minuscapillumus Liu et Yang, Chrysotus motuoensis Liu et Yang and Chrysotus pennatus Lichtwardt. A key to the species of Chrysotus from Inner Mongolia is provided. Key words: Diptera, Dolichopodidae, Chrysotus, Inner Mongolia, China, new species INTRODUCTION The genus Chrysotus Meigen, 1824 is the largest genus of the subfamily Diaphorinae, with more than 420 species distributed worldwide now. Among them, 76 species are known from the Palaearctic Region (Yang et al. 2011, Negrobov et al. 2014, Negrobov et al. 2015, Liu et al. 2015, Wang et al. 2016). Some of these species are known to occur in more than one biogeographical region. So far as known 178 species occur in China (Yang et al. 2011, Wei & Zhang 2010, Wei 2012a, Wei 2012b, Liu et al. 2013, Wei et al. 2014, Liu et al. 2015, Liu et al. 2016). Inner Mongolia has a temperate continental monsoon climate and is located in northwest and northeast China. The territory belongs to the Palaearctic Region. Three species of the genus Chrysotus were known to occur in Inner Mongolia before. In this paper, two species of Chrysotus are described as new to science and five species are recorded from Inner Mongolia for the first time. A key to the species of Chrysotus from Inner Mongolia is presented. MATERIAL AND METHODS This study was based on specimens collected mainly in 2006 to 2014 from Inner Mongolia using sweep nets. The specimens were stored in ethanol, and they are deposited in the Entomological Museum of China Agricultural University (CAU), Beijing. Morphological terminology for adult structures mainly follows McAlpine (1981). Terms for the structures of the male genitalia follow Cumming & Wood (2009). The following abbreviations are used: acr acrostichal bristle, ad anterodorsal bristle, av anteroventral bristle, d dorsal bristle, dc dorsocentral bristle, LI fore leg, LII mid leg, LIII hind leg, pd posterodorsal bristle, v ventral bristle, CuAx ratio length of m-cu / length of distal portion of CuA. 2 156 CHRYSOTUS FROM INNER MONGOLIA TAXONOMY Genus Chrysotus Meigen Chrysotus Meigen, 1824: 40. Type species: Musca nigripes Fabricius, Lyroneurus Loew, 1857: 38. Type species: Lyroneurus coerulescens Loew, Diagnosis The genus can be distinguished from other Diaphorinae members by the following characters: Body small to medium-sized, metallic green; males and females with frons wider than face, and most males eyes contiguous on face; face parallel-sided or narrowing downward; eyes shortly haired; male eyes very narrowly separated or contiguous on face (occasionally widely separated), with enlarged facets toward face; arista long, located at tip; R 4+5 and M parallel apically. Male genitalia: Surstylus not branched, apically with short hairs and (or) 1 2 spine-like bristles; epandrial lobe long and broad; cercus small. Some species of the genus are similar to Diaphorus, but can be separated by the arista located at tip and tergite 8 without strong bristles (Yang et al. 2011). Remarks Yang et al. (2006) provided a list of synonymy of the genus.
