2 Markaryds municipality The city of Markaryd, with about inhabitants, is situated in the southwestern part of Småland. The surroundings offer a rich and exciting wildlife preserve, magnificent forests and, of course, many lakes with an abundance of fish. The fishing is divided into seven different fishing conservation areas (fvo). At a low cost we can offer not only fabulous fishing but also lots of excitement and relaxation in wonderful natural surroundings. The most common fish are perch, pike, pike-perch, bream, roach, tench, burbot and eel. Trout can be found within the Vänneå conservation area in the north western corner of the community, and nowadays also in the river Lagan. In central Markaryd in the area of Södergård you will find interesting put and take rainbow trout fishery. Markaryd wishes you good fishing. Here you can buy fishing licenses for the various fishing areas as the fishing guide represents. Vänneåns FVO have their own fishing license, all outlets have not received them yet available. 3 1. VÄNNEÅNS FISHING CONSERVATION AREA Fishing licenses are available per day or per season. Additionally we offer a weekly family license. Up to three children under 14 years are included on an adults license. Special regulations for trout fishing Maximum 2 trout/sea trout per license and day.lures and baited hooks are prohibited. Size limit is 26 cm. Fishing is prohibited during the winter months. See also instructions on the fishing license. Violations against current fishing regulations will be regarded as illegal fishing in which case the tackle can be confiscated. The license entitles to fishing within the Markaryd fishing conservation area: Lagan (downstream from Kvarnaholm power station, Strömsnäsbruk to Majenfors' power station), and lakes Jetesjön, Lokasjön, Byasjön, Klocksjön, Skärsjön, Svartsjöarna including connecting waterways except Krokebäcken. Special regulations apply to license holders within the original team. Fishing regulations Only hand tackle is allowed. Maximum 10 ice fishing tackle. There you will find the real wilderness feeling, but also easily available small hideaways. The lakes inside the Markaryds locality: Jetesjön right in the center that is easy to find also Lokasjön - Byasjön lake in the scenic Ekebacken.

Here is peace and tranquility. Yellow and white lilies line the lakes. Osprey, loons and cranes are sturdy guests. Our biggest Maen lake offers good fishing for both rough walleye pike. In Skärsjön you can fish for bass with guaranteed results. Boasjön right next to the road 25 has a population of whitefish. Källhult Lake is a clear spring lake with stands of including large perch. In Hinneryd lakes, the association for several years every summer planted the rainbow. Vänneåns FVO On the border between Småland and Halland, about twenty kilometres North West of Markaryd, is the beautiful Vänneå fishing conservation area with the river Vänneå and around 15 lakes. The locality is only sparsely populated, most of it is pure wilderness where both elk and deer can be sighted. All the fishing sites are very well kept and many of the lakes also offer beaches for swimming, grilling sites, hiking and boat rental. Worth mentioning is the wilderness lake Ljungsjön with trout and arctic char. The river Vänneå has both wild and farm-raised trout. Within this conservation area is Grysshultasjön with good fishing for pike and perch. Cabins for rent can be found in Vivljunga and other places. 2. Tannsjö-Hultasjöns FVO Tannsjö-Hultasjö fishing conservation area is situated in the centre of the community. It offers exciting fishing for mainly pike and perch, but bream, tench, roach and eel can also be found. You can either fish from land or rent a boat. Markaryds FVO The area includes lake Jetesjön situated in the centre of Markaryd, the river Lagan from Majenfors' power station dam to the power station in Kvarnaholm, and the lakes Lokasjön, Byasjön, Skärsjön, Klocksjön, Svartesjön and Södergård with connecting watercourses. In Södergård ponds in central Markaryd are implanted trout. Here is a spec fishing licenses which are available from fishing license sales. 4. Exens FVO Exen fishing conservation area consists of lake Exen and the river Bolmån southward to where it joins Lagan and provides good fishing for pike, pike-perch, perch, trout, tench, bream, roach, vendace, burbot and eel. The lake is fairly shallow which makes fishing from land difficult, so fishing from a boat is preferrable. Around the lake you will find several boat rentals where laminated navigational charts are sold. 5. Torpa Socken FVO Situated within Markaryd community are the Hinneryd lakes. Fish species: pike, perch, roach, bream and trout The FVO also comprises among other lakes the Mäen lake with good perch, pike, walleye fishing. 6. Lagan (Hamneda-Traryd) FVO The river Lagan from Hamneda to the dam by Traryd power station provides interesting fishing in wonderful surrondings You will find pike, pike-perch, perch, trout, bream, tench, roach, eel and burbot 7. Hammarsjöns FVO Lake Hammarsjön fishing conservation area in Strömsnäsbruk is easily accessible and includes the river Lagan from Traryd power station down to the power station in Strömsnäsbruk (Hammarsjön). The abundance of fish here includes pike, pike-perch, perch, trout, rainbow trout, bream, tench, carp, roach, bleak, burbot and eel. All carp must be handled with care and reintruduced.
