2 Fishing in Ronnebyån (The Ronneby River) The trout fishing in Ronnebyån (The Ronneby River) is attracting fishing enthusiasts from near and far every year. lease respect the following rules and regulations: FISHING SEASON 2018 The fishing season of 2018 starts on the 10th of March and lasts to the 30th of September. Between October 1, 2018 and March of 2019 it is closed season and no fishing is allowed. FISHING ERMIT/LICENCE A valid fishing permit/licence is required and to be worn clearly visible. FLY & SIN FISHING AND ANGLING From ool 1 to ool 4 only fly or spin fishing is allowed. Fly fishing refers to the traditional method of fishing with a rod, line, snell and fly. Spin fishing refers to fishing using a trolling spoon or wobbler and a lure weight and fly. The bait used must be constantly moving, that is, the rod should be handheld and the bait reeled in. Angling is only allowed in ool 5. Rainbow trout can be fished freely. Sea trout measuring less than 50 cm in length must, by law, be carefully put back in the water. All fish caught in ools 1 4 must be weighed in at the Control Station adjacent to ool 1 at The City Hall bridge (Stadshusbron). Use the special Control Card provided. This also applies to fish that are put back in the water. A valid fishing licence must be worn clearly visible at all times. WINTER FISHING A valid fishing licence is required for ice fishing. 1 jigging rod and 10 tip-up ice fishing gear/clippers are allowed per angler and fishing licence. FISHERY INSECTIONS Fishery Inspectors are appointed by the County Administrative Board in Blekinge. The Inspectors monitor the fishing carried out in Ronnebyån (The Ronneby River) and the lakes of Galtsjön and Skärsjön. Violation of the fishing regulations may lead to suspension from further fishing in the area as well as confiscation of both equipment and any fish caught. There are no refunds on confiscated fishing permits. CATCH LIMITS A maximum number of four rainbow trouts may be caught per day and licence. There are no restrictions on the number of other fish species you may catch. AORVED FISHING TACKLE Fishing is permitted using spinning reels and rods, fly and fishing rods. Only one rod is allowed per fishing licence. Angling is allowed. DIRECTIONS Lake Galtsjön is situated between Bräkne-Hoby and Ronneby, off the European route E22. Lake Skärsjön is situated between Ronneby and Kallinge. 6 More fishing There are plenty of other lakes and rivers in Ronneby Municipality that offer great fishing with fishing permits. For example: Bräkneån North In Bräkneån (The Bräkne river) you can catch trout, pike, perch and whitefish. The season stretches over the whole year, with exception of trout fishing. Trout may only be fished between March and September. Fishing permits are purchased at the supermarket in Bräkne-Hoby or at The Tararp Bed & Breakfast. More information and fishing licenses for Bräkneån is available at: Bräkneån South The fishing permit for Bräkneån southern part also includes fishing in Vierydåns west side up to the border between Väby and Hakarp, as well as the lakes Bysjön and Viesjön. In these waters you can fish for perch, bream, tench, whitefish, pike, rainbow trout, brook trout, rudd and Id. Fishing licenses are available from the supermarket in Bräkne-Hoby, Svalemåla stugby and Garnanäs Fishing Camp.
