2 Shiine Ltd 13 All Rights Reserved 1 [INVENTION TITLE] Kitchen Utensil Device [FIELD OF INVENTION] The present invention relates to a kitchen utensil device. [PROBLEMS] Also known as BACKGROUND Regular serving spoons store food and fluid in the head of the spoon, but do not allow for drainage of fluid. Drainage spoons drain fluid immediately from the spoon, but do not allow for transportation of fluid and food together. Presently there is no solution for interchangeably draining and storing fluid. [THE SOLUTION] Also known as the SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION The present invention seeks to provide a solution to this problem(s) by providing a kitchen utensil device with a movable element that allows for interchangeable drainage and storage of fluid by a user. [BASIC DESCRIPTION OF HOW IT WORKS] Only mention ESSENTIAL aspects. The head of the kitchen utensil has at least one hole in the head for drainage. The movable element also has at least one hole which, when aligned with the hole(s) in the head, allow for drainage of fluid from the head of the utensil. When the hole(s) are not aligned, fluid is stored in the head of the device. [MOST IMPORTANT PREFERRED ASPECTS] Preferably, the movable element is on the back of the kitchen utensil device. Preferably, the utensil has a button type switch on the top of the handle so that fluid can be interchangeably drained and stored via movement of the switch, which moves the movable element. The intent of the switch is to make it extremely intuitive for a user to change between drainage and storage, so that the user can change between drainage and storage simply by moving the switch with a thumb. 2 The present invention will now be more particularly described, with reference to the accompanying drawings, by way of example only and in no way limiting the scope of the invention, in which:

3 2 [BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS] Figure 1 is a top view of the kitchen utensil device where the hole(s) in the head and the movable element are aligned so that fluid can drain from the head; Figure 2 is a back view of the device with particular reference to the movable element, where the holes are aligned for drainage; Figure 3 is a top view of the device where the holes in the head are blocked by the movable element, for storage of fluid; Figure 4 is a back view of the device where the holes in the head are blocked for storage. [DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS] Referring to the drawings, there is shown a kitchen utensil device, which has a handle 12, a head 14, and a movable element 16. The handle 12 is for holding. Preferably the device is a serving spoon. Preferably there is a button type switch 18 located on the top of the handle 12 so that the button 18 can be moved by a user, preferably by movement of a thumb, which closes the hole(s) in the head 14 of the device. The button 18 is preferably attached to the movable element 16, so that when the button 18 is moved, the movable element 16 is moved. The button 18 may be integral to the movable element 16. It is feasible the button type switch 18 is located on the back of the device, or that there is no button, in which case, the movable element 16 may be directly manipulated by a user. There may be provided a mound on the element 16 to aid direct manipulation by a user. Preferably the handle 12 has an opening 22 through which the button 18 protrudes. Preferably, there is a hanging cavity at an end of the handle 12 so that the device can be hung on a wall. Referring to the head 14 of the device, there is shown a plurality of holes 24 in the head 2 14, however, there may be only one hole 24 in the head 14. The head 14 is curved so that it can hold food and fluid.

4 3 The movable element 16 can be moved to block a hole(s) 24 in the head 14 of the device. The movable element 16 has a handle part 26 and a head part 28, which are preferably formed as one piece. It is feasible the handle part 26 and head part 28 are separate parts. When the handle part 26 is moved, the head part 28 is moved, which allows for interchangeable drainage and storage of fluid from the head 14 of the device. Preferably, as shown in the drawings, the movable element 16 is located on the back (underside) of the kitchen utensil device, although it is feasible it may be located on the top of the device. The movable element 16 has a hole(s) 30 in the head part 28. When the hole(s) 30 in the head part 28 of the movable element 16 are aligned with the hole(s) 24 in the head 14 of the device, fluid can be drained from the head 14 of the device. When the hole(s) 24 in the head 14 of the device are blocked by the head part 28 of the movable element 16, fluid can be stored in the head 14 of the device. Preferably the movable element 16 is of thin flexible metallic material, although it may be of any material, for example, plastics. There are shown multiple attachment flanges 32 for attaching the movable element 16 to the device. There may be provided any number of attachment flanges. For example, a long attachment flange may run along a length of the element 16. The flanges 32 may meet, from one side of the movable element 16 to the other, partially enclosing the element 16. In such a case, the flanges may be hinged, forming a hinge flange, which may allow for removing and reattaching of the movable element 16. The movable element 16 may be partially or wholly enclosed within the utensil device. The device may have an internal cavity for holding the movable element, which may have a slit for removing the element 16. There may be a mound on the movable element 16 to aid moving of the element 16 by a 2 user, a mound being a raised portion. Preferably the movable element 16 is removable, which may aid hygiene, allowing the element 16 to be washed separately from the device, and allowing the device to be washed with the element 16 removed.

5 4 [BIN] Added unusual details about the invention that have not been mentioned The device may be a ladle. [IN USE] Describe Your Invention in Action The invention will now be described in use, with reference to a preferred embodiment. In use, soup with vegetables is picked up by a user with the holes in the head of the device shut. The soup (fluid) and vegetables (solid) can be stored and transported in the head. Without the present invention, if a user desires to drain soup from the head, whilst retaining the vegetables, they must tilt the device against a surface (for example the side of a pan), which requires added movement, and may lead to vegetables falling out over the side of the head of the device. With the present invention, fluid can be interchangeably drained and stored simply by moving the movable element. A button on the top of the handle adds intuitiveness and control, and may allow the user to accurately disperse and retain the amount of fluid they want. The invention also allows a user to pour fluid from, for example, a serving spoon, without tilting the head. For example, if a user is serving soup into a bowl, without the present invention, the spoon, ladle, etc must be tilted so that fluid is poured over the edge of the spoon. This can lead to spillage of fluid due to lack of design in the spoon. This is particularly true in a case of a ladle, where pouring often leads to spillage as fluid is improperly poured over the edge of the ladle. With the present invention, the head of the spoon, ladle, etc can be kept level (no tilting is required), and the button type switch moved to move the movable element. Fluid is poured through the hole(s) in the head directly downwards, with no opportunity for spillage, and with little or no movement required from the user. [FINAL PINK LINK] 2 The embodiments described above are provided by way of example only, and various other modifications will be apparent to persons skilled in the art. 30 Perfect Provisional Template Copyright Shiine Ltd 13-present All Rights Reserved Not got the Perfect Provisional Seminar yet?
