1 Grading Syllabus - Requirements for Kyu Grades 6 kyu Minimum: 20 trainings (one per day)/3 months Techniques: (standing techniques) Ukemi Mae & Ushiro (i.e. forward and backward rolls) Hanmi (left and right stance) Shikko (knee walking, forward and backwards) Tai no Henko, Kihon 1 Shiho-Nage, omote and ura waza (front and back technique) From Kata Dori Nikkyo From Ai Hanmi, Katate Dori, omote and ura waza Tenchi-nage (seated techniques) 5 Kyu Minimum: 30 trainings (one per day) after 6 kyu / 4 months after 6 kyu. Tai no Henko, Kihon & Ki no nagare 2 (short form) Nikkyo, ura waza Shiho-nage From Ai Hanmi, Katate Dori Nikkyo, ura waza Irimi-nage, omote and ura waza Kote-Gaeshi (Weapons Techniques) (Sword) no Kamae (Posture when holding sword or bokken in readiness for action) Ichi no, Ni no, and San no Suburi (1 st, 2 nd, and 3 rd exercises) (Staff) Suburi Kihon is a Japanese term meaning "basics" meaning, the technique from static form. 2 Ki no nagare is a Japanese term for the flowing of Ki meaning, the technique from movement.

Ukemi Tobi-Ukemi (High-fall with a partner) from Kotegaeshi Koshi-nage (Breakfall from standing Hip-throw) Kaiten-nage, uchi mawari and soto mawari (inside and outside forms) From Kata Dori, Ki no nagare Nikkyo, Ki no nagare Nikkyo, Kihon Sankyo, Kihon, Kihon Shiho-nage, Kihon lrimi-nage, Kihon From Ushiro Ryote Dori Kokyu-ho Ryote dori Kokyu-ho Suburi 1-7 Suburi 1-10 Roku no Kata (Six movement Kata) 3 Kyu Minimum: 60 trainings (one per day) after 4 kyu / 9 months after 4 kyu.
